Story
We do not have puppies regularly HOWEVER we do accept people for a puppy wait list. When a puppy (under 1 year) comes into rescue we will FIRST refer to the oldest name and date approved on our puppy list to see if they are still interested in a puppy. We work our way down from there, sometimes the first person waiting is ready other times we get to 3 or 5 names before we find someone. We can not stress this enough....get on the list. Sometimes people wait week or months for a puppy - that is just how rescue works. We never know what we are getting or when we are getting it. We encourage everyone to support rescue and to adopt not shop!   If you know that I am your forever pup, please fill out an adoption application at https://daretorescue.org/adoption-application. Don't forget to put my NAME on your application! If you cannot adopt me but would like to help DARE pay for my care before I am adopted by my forever family, donate online at https://daretorescue.org/donation or send a check made payable to DARE to:DAREPO Box 21161Tampa, FL 32210     Even if you do not see a dog that matches what you're looking for, you may fill out a no obligation application at https://daretorescue.org/adoption-application and we will work to find a match for you. We receive dogs into foster care frequently, so it is impossible to have every available or soon-to-be-available dog on the website.July 11, 2024, 11:54 am

Story
Hey everyone! I'm Rex The Wonderdog, and I'm here to show you how amazing life can be when you're full of love, joy, and a bit of extra determination! Sure, my back legs don’t work, but that doesn’t slow me down one bit! I’ve got my trusty wheelchair for when I’m outside, and I scoot around like a pro indoors, especially on smooth surfaces. I am looking for a forever home where I can be the center of attention and the only fur kid.  - Cuddles: I'm the definition of a cuddlebug. I love snuggling up in blankets with my humans.  - Outdoor Fun: I love being outside, enjoying the fresh air and playing with my toys. - Treats: Turkey slices are my absolute favorite! - Attention: I love being close to my family, giving smiles and light kisses when you pet me. - Potty: Don’t worry! I can poop and pee on my own… no expression needed. I do wear a bellyband 24/7 because sometimes I can’t move fast enough to get outside. - Indoor Fun: I get around best on smooth surfaces, so if your home has those, it’s a big plus for me! If you’re looking for a loving, cheerful companion who will bring endless smiles to your life, I’m your guy. Let’s make beautiful memories together!Click here to watch a video of Rex. Story
Hey there, I'm Scooby! Life’s been a bit of an adventure lately, and I'm on the lookout for my forever family. I’m an 8-year-old Dachshund, and let me tell you, I’m a pro snuggler. I adore my foster mom, but when my foster dad’s around, I gravitate right to him—what can I say, I’ve got a lot of love to give! I came from a home with four other Dachshunds and fit right in with my current foster siblings, all four of them! I don’t have any interest in being the alpha dog; I get along with everyone. Kids? No problem—I do great with my foster family’s grandboys who are 5 and 8 years old. Cats are still a bit of a mystery to me. I’m curious and might bark or chase if they run, but I promise, I won’t harm them. I’m house-trained and even have access to a doggie door. While I’m okay in a kennel, I prefer hanging out with everyone else. I’ve been on a healthy diet and lost several pounds, feeling better than ever. I’ll be getting a dental cleaning on July 22nd, so I’ll be all set with fresh breath for my new family. I can’t wait to find my forever home filled with love, snuggles, and lots of fun. Are you ready for a loving, loyal companion? Because I’m ready for you! If you know that I am your forever pup, please fill out an adoption application at https://daretorescue.org/adoption-application. Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Jacksonville, FL Meet Blue! He is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 47 lbs. He is microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention, but isn’t neutered. Blue is fearful around strangers (he warms up quicker to females when introduced properly). He hasn’t been tested around cats or other dogs, but is fine with the dogs inside of his home. No kids, due to his reactivity! He loves to play fetch, run around the yard, and snuggle up on your lap! Blue has had 3 bite incidents last year. He bit a toddler on the forehead. He bit a child when they approached him on the couch with a big toy. He also bit the owner’s toddler after she approached him and tried to pet him in the kitchen. The owner is surrendering him because he has bitten their young children and shown aggression towards them. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for him, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Blue. Owner’s Contact Information: Dayana Alvarez at dayana_01@hotmail.com.

Hey, I'm Bandit and I am the most loving loyal dog there is!! I am very calm and love to just hang out with my people. I do tend to have stranger danger so our first meet and greet, may be a little standoffish, but don't let that stop you from meeting me. You see once I warm up to you I will shower you with love. I need a family that will take a chance on me, as I have not had the best life. I am very protective of my family once I know I'm yours I will not let anything happen to you. I do ok with other dogs with a proper induction will be needed. Please come down and ask to see me!! I would love to snuggle my new family as soon as possible.
