Story
Meet precious Bella!! She is 12-13 yrs old and an absolute doll. She seems like a purrrfect dog. Her mom is very ill and she can no longer take care of her. Bella was adopted in 2021 from us (her original owner had died) and has had a pretty good life for 2 1/2 years. Her mom is going into a nursing home approximately Aug 1st. Sooooo Bella is ready for her final furrrever home!! She weighed 35 lbs in 2021 and not sure now what she weighs. Pictures are from 2 1/2 years ago. Bella's has where her little feet itch and she gives her something for that. We will vet her. She could lose a little weight but most of us could- especially during the pandemic! She is used to a quiet home. If you are interested in this angel please email purrfectfriendsforadoption@gmail.com. we do have a senior pet program if you are interested let us know when you inquire!

Story
Kobe is an energetic and loyal pup who is looking for a loving home that can provide him with the time and attention he deserves. At 15 months old Kobe is full of energy and loves to exert it outdoors, playing fetch and running his heart out. His favorite place in the house is right by your side, getting pets and ear rubs. Kobe is house trained and crate trained. He has lived with another dog, cats, and children. Due to his high energy, Kobe often jumps or paws when he is excited. He needs work on not “mouthing” while he plays, but has never bitten anyone or shown aggressive behavior. He is a large dog and not neutered. He is a true sweet heart and a good boy. He needs a best friend or family who understands the needs of a young dog, and the active breed that he is!!! Kobe is in need of a new home, at no fault of his own. Due to my medical needs, I have to say goodbye but am hoping to find him the best forever home possible!!

Story
Vance is a Golden/Pyrenees mix and he is just a beautiful boy who desperately needs a dog-savvy and experienced foster home!! He will curl up on your lap and jump on your bed if you let him. He loves 'his people', which right now is the kennel staff and volunteers.    You won't have to worry about squirrels or chipmunks in your yard  as he'll chase them off for sure!  He definitely needs a dog experienced, adult household, with no kids under 18, and an above ground fenced yard (no apartments or condo type home). Vance is not a real social dog as he likes to be at home with his people! Can anyone take this sweet boy out of the kennel? Any family who is interested in Vance, and has been approved to meet him, MUST still be approved by his trainer. He likes smaller dogs but he is not wild about larger dogs and no cats. This sweet boy likes walks around the park and walks fine on leash. While he was out and about at the kennel, he wanted lots of loving in the office!!! And... Vance Loves fetching toys!We are still learning about this cutie, but if you would like to meet him and get him out of the kennel, please contact GRRAND ASAP! ##947055##

Story
This sweet girl is a lover and is looking for a dog-savvy, adult only couple or single person to love her back! She will require a home with an above ground physical fenced yard!!!   GRRAND will work with her adoptive home to help transition her.  Millie would love an active person who will take her to doggie daycare to get her energy out or good runs/walks. She would do fine as an only dog or with a stable, submissive dog, but no cats. She is also crate-trained.  Millie has a waited too long for her happy forever, and with just the right person, you can live a happy great life together! Can you be the one she deserves?   ##870068##

Story
This is Bernie... our sweet Doodle boy! Bernie came to GRRAND from a shelter in late November. He was in terrible condition upon intake and required shaving due to such deep mats. He was also quite unsocialized and has needed a lot of behavioral support to become ready for adoption. We’re so excited for Bernie to be able to continue on the next leg of his journey to finding his forever home! This affectionate boy now loves to jump up and give hugs to his caretakers He will need a family with the time and patience to continue helping him come out of his shell to see all the great things in the world and to give him the attention and exercise he desires. He needs a secure home with an above-ground fenced yard because he could be a flight risk. Bernie resource guards and since he cannot be retrained to change this behavior, he needs a home without any kids, grandkids or children visiting the home. With his resource guarding behaviors, Bernie does not like it when other dogs or people get around his food (or favorite things) so he will need to be fed separately from other dogs however, he does love to play with other dogs and does great with them! We do not believe he should go to a home with cats. Interested families will have the support of our trainer to help understand Bernie and get him settled into his new home If you are interested in fostering Bernie, please complete a foster application: http://grrand.org/foster-process/ If you think Bernie may be the dog for you, please complete an adoption application: http://grrand.org/adoption-process/ ##947042##

Story
This beautiful girl is Faith... Faith was one of the breeder dogs that was rescued from horrid conditions from the Amish puppy mill rescue in early Dec. Faith & Ivy are a bonded pair and as of now (mid-March 2024) we anticipate that they may be ready to consider being transitioned to the right adoptive family, possibly by June. **** Faith continues to be extremely unsocialized at this time, and the type of home she is needing is not just your typical home. There are quite a few MUST HAVES for her and they are:  MUST have someone who is experienced in helping unsocialized breeder dogs transition from the kennel situation to a home. This is NOT just for anyone, as the time and patience put into helping to rehabilitate these dogs is huge. She also MUST have another stable dog, MUST have a secure above ground fenced yard with direct access to the yard from the house, MUST have someone home more than the typical working family, and a home with NO kids under the age of 16. We are still learning about Faith but we do know she is very fearful of everything right now. You can tell she WANTS to get love but she is very hesitant and when one of the volunteers was able to pet her (once), she laid down in fear. Faith has only known the small confines of a kennel, so this new world she has been introduced to is very scary for her. She finds comfort in other dogs as when she is in the play area with volunteers, she was very indifferent and not so interested in people, but when she is outside with some other dogs, she will get excited and bounce around some.  We know we need to get her out of the kennel so she can begin her new journey in life. She needs to find a forever family or foster family that is excited to show her what love and compassion are about. Faith is going to take time... things can not be rushed for her. As said above, she is going to need to have a stable dog living in the home so they can show her the ropes and help build her confidence in everything, especially people. Faith is considered a flight risk, and will need a home with a secure above ground fenced yard with direct access to the yard from the home. We do not know how she will be with kids and or chaos, so a home with no kids under the age of 16 is best and we do not know how she is with cats at this time.  If you want to be the one to show Faith what life as a beloved family member is all about, please fill out an application: grrand.org/foster grrand.org/adopt GRRAND dogs are looking for their foster or adoptive homes in our current service area of Greater Louisville, Greater Lexington, or Greater Cincinnati and Dayton. We’re sorry we can’t make exceptions to this area at this time.   ##1598942##
