Story
Our little dude Buddy is such a character! Buddy is around 8 years of age and is by no means considered "an old man." He's got plenty of spring in his step and is always ready to take a walk and adventure out and about! He's so super sweet and recently went to the vet for a dental! He freely gave kisses to his vet staff and came back with clean teeth and a happy attitude! Buddy's foster is his third home that we know. His first owner passed away and then went to a member of the family. That family had too many dogs (about 20) and needed to find a better situation for Buddy which landed him in rescue. Buddy is a smaller dog at only 23 pounds. His coat is thick and a little course. We're not quite sure what his mix is but those gorgeous blue eyes are stunning! He's great with children, dogs and has been exposed to cats. We'd love to see him find a family soon! If you can't adopt, please share Buddy's post! If you'd like to meet / adopt - email to blueridgerescue@aol.com

Story
OLIVER IS LOOKING FOR A NEW FAMILY! He is a 5 year old, male, Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He is AKC registered. He is being rehomed because of arguments with the other dog in the home. It appears there was no issue between the two dogs until children were born and now they argue over food. Children drop food and it is hard to keep the peace. He would do best in an environment with older children or adults only as small children seem to provide a bit of stress in his world. He’s potty trained, crate trained, listens well and loves getting pets and attention. He is leash trained and loves going on walks. Dog parks are not recommended but simple neighborhood walks are more his cup of tea! Oliver favors adults and although he currently lives with young toddlers, he prefers a calmer setting. There is an adoption fee and application process for a meet and greet / adoption for Oliver! Please email us at blueridgerescue@aol.com for an application or with additional questions.

Story
Macey is a 9 year of age, Labrador Retriever mix that is looking for her soft landing! Her original owner passed away earlier this year, then the family that was taking care of her had a house fire and couldn't take all the dogs with them to their new location. Macey was a faithful companion that grieved the loss of her original owner. She is kind and affectionate and likes to go for walks. She walks decently on a leash and would benefit from regular exercise. This girl came to us very overweight and has probably lost around 10 pounds. Currently she's about 80 pounds but has a few more pounds to lose. She still needs some firming and toning as she was not given regular exercise in her previous environment. Macey is house and potty trained and doesn't ask for much: healthy food, a short walk and loving attention! She is fully vetted, her bloodwork is good and she is ready to walk right into your heart! If you think you might be a good fit for Macey, please email us at blueridgerescue@aol.com There is an application process.

Story
Looking for a playmate for your dog? Looking for an adventure/hiking partner? Looking for a dog to keep you active? Tinsley might be just the ticket! She loves to play and run around! She's getting quicker to keep up with the big dogs but still gives her worried puppy yips when she's falling behind and can't quite keep up! :) This 27 pound girl loves affection and attention! She can be a lap dog and would be good with dogs, cats and children that aren't toddler age. She's adventurous, curious and full of life! Her temperament is that of a hound but she is definitely a mix. She appears to have "hare feet". Some dog breeds have longer middle toes, a foot shape called "hare feet" and these include: ** Greyhound, Samoyed, Whippet, Bedlington terrier,, Skye terrier and Borzoi. Tinsley is a spunky girl, loves her people, plays great with others and would love a family that is active and would include her in their daily activities! If she might be the girl for you, please email us at blueridgerescue@aol.com for more information and/or an application.

Labrador Retriever Mutt

Female, Senior

Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Honey is a 7 y/o, 80 lb, lab mix. She is a couch potato and loves to curl up next to you for a nap. She loves butt scratches, playing fetch and tug of war, and going on walks. She is a very sweet dog with lots of love to give. We got Honey at our local shelter and we were told she was a stray so we don't know much about her history. She has been spayed since we got her (Nov 2024), and is up to date on all shots. Our vet told us she has a flea allergy based on some hair loss she is still recovering from from before we adopted her. Honey needs a home without small children. She has nipped/snapped at children who pet her or try to play too rough with her while she is sitting or laying down. If there are children in the home, they need to be able to give her space when she needs it. Our daughter is only 3 and we unfortunately can't rely on her to be safe around Honey, so we need to find Honey a new home for both of their safety and comfort.

Story
Zero is a 4 year old pure bred Blue Pitbull terrier! We rescued him from a family member who neglected him. We’ve had him for 2 years. He is the sweetest dog I’ve ever known, and does not have a mean bone in his body. He’s VERY high energy, and has anxiety due to his previous living conditions. He just wants lots of love, cuddles, walks, treats, and playtime!! He would best be suited for someone who can walk him atleast once a day if not more, and a big yard. He does well with other dogs as long as they are friendly. He loves cats and currently lives with 3. Good with kids but be mindful with him around young ones, because he does not understand he is big and can’t jump or be in their face. He loves every person he meets. He is up to date on shots, fixed, and microchipped. He is house trained, and cate trained. Unfortunately we cannot give zero the time and exercise he needs and deserves. Please reach out if you can give him what he needs and will love him forever!
