Story
Man dumped all the male puppies from a litter and we took one from a friend to help out. Under our care he has been to the vet to receive check-up, shots (list upon request), and deworming/flea and tick treatment. Crate trained. He is around children and other pets (cats and dogs) and is so good with all of them. He is a very sweet and snuggly little guy. We spent several days with my sister who has a Boston Terrier puppy and Hatchet was amazing with him. We wish we could keep him but it is not possible at this time. He needs a loving home with connection and space to explore.

And DNA shows she is 100% border collie!!  She wants nothing more in life than to play frisbee, fetch, and spend time romping and wresting with her dog buddies. Willow has a high energy level, a medium herding drive, and is eager to please. She is treat and praise motivated and knows basic commands. She is potty trained and crate trained. Her ideal home would have a 5 foot fence, a playful housemate and a soft couch. She adores children and strangers. Willow would do well as a running companion and is a natural at agility and obedience. She is ready for adventure and is always eager to learn. Willow was born April 2022 in a rural setting and was penned without much human interaction for her first 6 months of life. In October 2022, she was purchased and this owner, their partner and their resident Border Collies changed her from a terrified, constantly hiding puppy to a well socialized outgoing adult. Willow came into MO-Kan’s care March 2023 and is happily living with playful canine housemates including elderly dog and a puppy.   Read about Smooth Coat Border Collies>>>  Willow is being fostered in the Kansas City, MO area. Click here to watch a video of Willow (2023).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 12, 2024, 9:42 am

Story
Rufus is a high energy dog who is looking for a new home where he can get lots of play time and exercise! He gets along great with his foster brothers and loves to wrestle, play tug and do zoomies in the yard with his buddies. He could definitely live as an only dog, but would love a home with another active dog who could help burn off some of his energy! Rufus has had successful interactions with older children, but his energy level and love of face kisses might be overwhelming for little ones or kids who aren't comfortable with big, goofy dogs. Roofie is a smart boy who knows all of the basic commands. He has a bit of anxiety and is working hard to learn things like calmly leaving his crate after being left alone and not jumping on people. He gets better and better every day and would benefit from continued training in his new home to help him with the adjustment. His active mind and athletic ability would make him an awesome candidate for activities like agility training. This handsome doofus is such a sweetie and loves attention. He's a big boy, but he wants to be a lap dog, and he spends every night curled up in bed as close as he can to his foster mom Zeus has been diagnosed with a congenital defect called pulmonic stenosis (PS). PS is a condition in which the pulmonic valve is abnormally formed and creating an obstruction of blood flow from the right heart to the lungs. This then causes the right heart to have to work harder to push blood to the lungs, which in turn causes enlargement and thickening of the right heart. Fortunately, Rufus has had a successful surgery for this condition. It is recommended he have yearly follow up visits to monitor his heart. He is also on medication for his heart which will likely need to be continued.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in adopting, read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application on the Mo-Kan website.  A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.   Meet Suzi, a charming 2-year-old black and white Border Collie mix, weighing around 40 lbs. She's a true people lover, always ready for affection and cuddles. Suzi enjoys a variety of things and activities such as playing tug, soft squeaky toys, going on walks, frozen peanut butter filled kongs, hard chews, licky mats, snuffle mats, dog puzzles, soft foam dog beds (and maybe a fuzzy one for her head), belly rubs, and giving kisses. She's potty trained and is gradually warming up to her kennel, though she'd rather be by your side. Suzi has a bit of a prey drive, so she's not suited for homes with small animals. She's selective with other dogs, making her a good fit as an only dog or with a submissive dog companion. She's actively learning commands and tricks (sit, lie down, come, wait, here, get it, give it, leave it, place, here, spin, twirl, touch, hide, roll over, crawl and catch) and is eager to please for treats or toys. Suzi is intelligent, inquisitive, and knows when to relax. If you're seeking a Border Collie's intelligence, beauty, and loyalty without the high energy, Suzi is your ideal match. She requires a fenced yard and someone knowledgeable about her breed. She's spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Suzi is currently in foster care in Manhattan, KS.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 12, 2024, 9:42 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in adopting, read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application on the Mo-Kan website.  A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.   Job wanted!! 2.5 year old enthusiastic border collie looking for a family and job.  He offers eagerness and quickness to learn,  passion, and loyalty.  Enzo is seeking part time work as he believes in a work/ life balance and would like to spend lots of time cuddling, and bonding with his family  (as well as playing with toys).  Past experiences include herding (kids, cars,  dogs,  brooms - really anything).  However,  he is enjoying learning obedience, tricks, sniffing games, and more in his foster hom. He LOVES training time and would enthusiastically like to learn new tasks. Enzo is seeking an experienced border collie family who can gently and consistently guide him, and continue his training. This former stray dog needs a family without small kids. Enzo is currently in a foster home with a foster brother. He can be selective about his dog friends, or would do well as a solo dog. Enzo will need someone willing to help him harness his moderate level energy. He has tons of potential and will be an amazing, fun, loving, and devoted companion. He is house broken. Does Enzo sound like the perfect addition to your life? Complete the adoption application for the opportunity to meet Enzo! Enzo is being fostered in the Kansas City area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 12, 2024, 9:42 am
