Story
This is Happy, a 9-year-old "pound puppy" who looks just like those toys from the '80s. Happy is a calm, snuggly boy who enjoys a lot of nap time but lights up for tug-of-war and running around with kids. His favorite toys are ropes and anything he can chew on. Happy gets along well with our cat but needs a few days to acclimate to new cats, especially adult ones; he finds baby kittens easier to adjust to. While he isn't a fan of other dogs, he did okay with chickens, though he may give chase. Happy absolutely adores children and babies, making him a fantastic family dog. He’s house-trained and knows commands like sit, lay down, go to bed, and “stop that.” Though he has some skin allergies, he’s otherwise in good health. Due to a busy work schedule, Happy spends a lot of time alone, but he thrives on attention and affection. He eats in the morning and evening, plays with the kiddo, and then sleeps on the mini trampoline he claimed as his bed. He’s absolutely best friend material.

Story
Meet Johnny: The Sunshine-Soaked Chocolate Delight! Hey there, I'm Johnny, a 3.5-year-old, 47-pound bundle of joy in a milk chocolate coat! I may have had a rocky start to life, but I've come a long way from being emaciated when I first came to the shelter. Now, I'm a picture of health, happiness, and resilience! I'm a bit of a shy guy when it comes to new situations, but once you get to know me, you'll find that I'm a gentle and affectionate soul. One of my favorite things to do is to bask in the sun's warm rays. You'll often find me sprawled out in the yard, soaking up every last drop of sunlight and feeling the warmth on my fur. Sunbathing is like meditation for me - it helps me relax and appreciate the simple joys of life. I'm also a social pup, and I adore playing with other dogs. I might be a little bashful at first, but once I make a friend, I'm up for some friendly and fun playtime. Together, we'll chase after toys, explore the yard, and have a blast. My favorite day includes a long walk where I can take in all the scents and sounds of the world around me. A stop at the local dog park is always a highlight, where I can socialize with other four-legged friends and enjoy some quality playtime. So, if you're looking for a loyal companion who knows the true value of sunshine, resilience, and friendship, look no further. I'm Johnny, the sweet, shy, and sun-loving chocolate dog who's ready to bring happiness and warmth to your life. Let's share our days, and you'll find that every moment spent with me is a moment filled with pure joy. Come meet me at the shelter - I'm ready to be your new best friend!
