Story
*** Reina is in a foster home ***Solid white w/dark brown accents, long hair, spayed female, born approx. 8/1/21, #17233Cats: only other FeLV+ kittiesDogs: unknown Children: older kids/tweens/teens might be okayThis beautiful kitty fell upon hard times when her previous guardians moved, leaving her behind to fend for herself. Not one to be a victim, Reina wasn't afraid to approach people, and she immediately enlisted the help of some very kind girls in the neighborhood. They contacted The Rescue House, and now, Reina has a second chance at finding her forever family!Reina is a gorgeous, sweet girl! Like most kitties, she initially is bashful towards strangers or in new situations. Once Reina settles in and gets comfortable, however, she will happily cuddle up and ask for affection! In fact, she CRAVES your attention! Every morning when she hears you wake up, she will jump on the bed and deliver a big purr to say, "I'm ready for breakfast!" When you come home, she'll eagerly run to greet you with her chatty meows. According to Reina, your touch is heavenly. The scritches combo of head + cheeks + chin will have her drooling with bliss! To keep her luscious long fur looking divine, she adores being brushed. Still a kitten at heart, she is extremely playful and finds great joy in chasing and jumping after wand toys! A skilled huntress, Reina gets her thrills from watching the birds and catching all the insects that creep into the house. When she needs some rest, she'll stretch out on the sofa or lounge by a window. Her favorite spots are on the couch (snuggling next to her humans) and under the blankets where she can stay nice and toasty during the cold winter. When Reina was abandoned by her people, she unfortunately contracted both the feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) from outdoor community cats. There are no cures for these viruses. Although many cats can thrive for a normal life span with FIV, also having FeLV sadly will shorten her life expectancy. Currently, she has no symptoms or signs of illness related to either-she's not on any medication and doesn't need any treatment. While Reina cannot transmit FeLV to a creature of another species (such as a dog or a human), it can be passed in casual contact between kitties. As a result, Reina will need to be the only cat unless she joins a household with a resident FeLV+ feline. She has never encountered dogs and would not enjoy noisy canines. Her ideal home would be a very quiet place with no loud animals. Since she can be a bit playfully feisty (gently using her teeth), a residence without young children would be best. This wonderful darling deserves a forever family that will give her the warmth and affection she longs for. In return, Reina will reward you with endless love and appreciation! Could you be the one for her?

Story
*** Kova is in a foster home ***White w/brown tabby spots, long hair, spayed female, born approx. 7/1/22, #18541Cats: nopeDogs: nopeChildren: cat-savvy kids Last year, Kova decided she was tired of being alone and outside. After finding the perfect house in the neighborhood, she stood on the doorstep and belted out her best meows... "mew, mew!" The residence happened to belong to a Rescue House volunteer! A week before Christmas, Kova was thrilled to move in with her new family. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be; one of her adopters had allergies. We welcomed Kova back into our clowder and promised to find her true forever-and-ever home!Kova is the sweetest kitty in town! In fact, she was loafing on our laps since day one. Outgoing with a funny personality, she simply adores people. As you arrive home, you can expect lots of headbutts, leg rubs, and meows. After the welcome party is over, she's off doing her own thing again. A balance of social and independent, she likes hanging out in the same room as you but also enjoys having her own space. When she gently wraps her paws around your leg, it is her way of saying that it's time to play! Her favorite toys are the cat catcher and laser pointer. The queen of hide-n-seek, you've been found when you see her peeking around the corner. After a meal, she usually gets a burst of the zoomies and speeds around the abode like a racecar. Not fearful of strangers, she'll even dash to the door to greet your guests. This fluffy diva prefers to make the initial move. Newcomers who try to pet her when she's not ready will get a warning hiss or swat. Offended, she'll flash a dirty look before sashaying away. The rule is: Kova will "pet" them first by giving a head-nudge and weaving between their feet. Then they have the all-clear to stroke her silky coat. At night, she requests that you keep the bedroom door open so she can roam around. A considerate girl, she promises not to disturb your sleep. Once you wake up, a cheerful Kova will meow her "good mornings" as you both start your fun-filled day together!Kova must be the only kitty in the household. She does not like other felines and would not do well with dogs. Since Kova can get overstimulated with constant petting, older cat-savvy kids who understand her boundaries would be ideal. Are you looking for America's next top kitty? She's easy, breezy, beautiful... Kova girl! What are you waiting for?

Story
*** Kiara is in a foster home. ***White w/ black tabby spots, long hair, spayed female, born approx. 9/21/15, #19018Other cats: no thank you Dogs: no thank you Children: respectful tweens+ Kiara lost her home because she was under constant stress by the other resident cat who was consistently aggressive to her. This translated to her developing idiopathic cystitis which mimics the signs of a urinary tract infection but is usually brought on by stress. Kiara moved into a foster home where she is the only cat around and had tests run; the tests came back clear and her issues resolved once she was able to truly relax. Kiara is a lovely lady who is looking for a place to call home. She is elegant, fluffy, kind, and loving! She enjoys spending her time lounging (preferably near a sunny window) and receiving attention from you. Kiara is eager for affection: she likes to be petted and responds very well to gentleness and tranquility. She prefers to keep her paws under her own control rather than be picked up, but if you're sitting on the couch then you're fair game! Kiara will come put her head on your arm or paws up to your shoulder and will end up partway on your lap. She'll also walk behind you on the back of the couch and nuzzle the back of your neck with her chin on your shoulder... awwww. Kiara likes to be groomed, which is fortunate because that helps her keep that gorgeous fluffy fur in perfect order. She prizes quality time spent in your company and is a wonderful companion kitty who isn't overly demanding... she just asks that you love her and respect her boundaries if she's not in the mood. This friendly kitty appreciates peace and love, and we're hoping she finds a home that is full of both!Kiara needs to be the only fur-child in a calm and quiet home. She doesn't like toddlers or overly boisterous children, though respectful tweens have been fine.Sweet Kiara is hoping to find a special person to love her forever! Will she be your new BFF?

Story
*** Freddy is in a foster home. ***Brown tabby, medium hair, neutered male, born approx. 5/10/17, #19172Cats: comfortable Dogs: unknown Children: respectful kids welcome Once upon a time in sunny Irvine there roamed a magnificent chocolate-and-caramel-brown tabby cat named Freddy. His bold stripes and mesmerizing eyes told of ancient adventures and held the wisdom of moonlit nights. His origins were shrouded in mystery (a seasoned explorer? a forgotten prince?), but one fateful day as the sun dipped low, Freddy was noticed by kind-hearted humans who spoke to him of warm beds, endless toys, being petted in all his favorite places, and delicious food and treats that would never end. Freddy knew it was time to find a forever family to give all his love, and soon his days were filled with curiosity, new feline foster friends, and interesting humans. He was now in Rescue House foster care on his way to becoming a beloved companion.Freddy has a magnetic personality, striking looks, and he relishes the simple joys in life: a cozy bed, sun-drenched floors, and gentle pets by humans. He'll curl up beside you: just imagine the warmth of his presence and the gentle rumble of his purr on a chilly night! While he prefers to keep his paws under his own control, he'll readily hang out with you on the couch and follow you to the kitchen when he wants something to eat. He lets you brush him for a couple of minutes at a time, and will just push your hand away when he deems his fur groomed enough for now. Freddy likes to chase and pounce on toys, and his favorites are the battery-operated ones that have unpredictable moves. It's also fun for him to lie on his back and play with dangly string toys! Freddy has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, which is an overactive thyroid gland; happily, with a consistent twice-daily medication, it is easy to manage! He currently is thrilled to lap up his pill in a Churu treat and is stable and doing well, though there are other long-term options that can be explored.Freddy is very calm and seems to do well with all cats and respectful humans of assorted ages. We haven't seen him around dogs. Even though he is a big boy and thus the largest of the cats in his foster home, he remained the gentlest.Freddy is not just a cat: he is a whispered promise of companionship. He longs for a stable home and sanctuary where he can watch the world unfold and share his mystical secrets with someone who will listen. This feline confidant will help you write new chapters in the book of life and share a celestial bond... an invitation to dance with the moon and unravel the mysteries hidden within his stripes. Will you let Freddy weave his magic into your days and nights?

Story
Jesse the cat is a neutered male runt; he is 7 years old. Jesse has a sweet disposition and he likes other cats. He likes resting beside you, but he is not a lap cat. Jesse is house-trained, and knows how to use a scratching post. Jesse likes to be brushed. Jesse was the companion of my mother, who passed away in April. Jesse was an outdoor cat up to 4 years of age , and an indoor cat after that. He lived with Mom in a senior assisted living facility the last three years. Jesse is nice. Jesse needs a forever home, I cannot keep him.
