Pepper is a 4 year old long haired cat with mostly black fur and a patch of white under her chin. She is very sweet and loved to get pets. She is not a big lap sitter but wants to be close to you and get attention. She does well with children but can get skiddish if spooked by something. She is not the most active cat but loves to lounge by a window and watch birds/what's going on outside. She uses the litter box, but most prefers Stop and Shop companion brand unscented litter and no cover. She has never lived with another cat but did well as a kitten when we had to cat sit. She is nervous around dogs. She is definitely a sweet and affectionate cat who would do well with a nice family!

I am an older cat who is looking for a retirement home as an only pet (and older respectful children only please). Don't count me out yet, though - I am active and love to play with my toys. When I am done, I love to be petted (not towards my rear), and I like to be next to you but not necessarily held. I have a healthy appetite! I came to Carmah after my owner died; it is has taken a while to get my bearings and I am now ready for my next home. I am 10 years old, and in great health. This is Mystico- the temporary name given to him. He is a stray - was found very skinny, hanging around my building for a few months. He is not microchipped nor fixed. The vet said he is between 1-2 years old, and is up to date on all of his shots. He is house trained, very friendly, very vocal, and loves cuddles. I would keep him, but I already have three of my own and would not be able to provide him the attention he deserves.
