I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Cat Adoption:6Franklin may look a little rough around the edges, but inside he's all heart.  Franklin came to us with a couple of icky abscesses on his face, but with treatment from our vet team and some time in a foster home, he's gotten the all clear for adoption, now he just needs a little time for the rough spots around his face to clear up, too! My name is Jessie, but my poppa always called me Baby Kitty, and it's a name that suits me just fine. I've had quite the journey in my 17 years, and I'm ready to embark on a new adventure with a loving family who will cherish me as much as my momma and poppa did. You see, my momma passed away about five years ago, and my poppa joined her on New Year's Day of 2024. It's been a bit lonely without them, but I'm still full of love and affection to give. Despite being 17 years young, I'm as sprightly as ever and ready to help you keep your couch warm on chilly winter days and nights. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a connoisseur of wet food and kitty treats, and I'll never say no to a good furminator brushing session to keep my long silky fur looking fabulous. I may be a little feisty at times, but hey, who isn't? It just adds to my charm! I do not tolerate other felines well and may need my own kingdom but my foster family is experimenting with this theory. Back in my heyday, I spent a lot of time in the company of small dogs, but sadly, they've all crossed the rainbow bridge due to old age. However, I'm open to making new furry friends if given the chance. Growing up in Lodi's wine country, I enjoyed the freedom of a kitty door and loved prowling outside in the warm weather in my safe backyard. Ah, those were the days! My recent health check at the vet was very positive, and they even gave me a rabies vaccine to keep me in tip-top shape. I believe I would thrive best in a calm, loving, kitty-friendly home with folks who appreciate the uniqueness of feline companionship. Remy’s a curious and shy little sweetheart. She’s very quiet and still getting used to being around humans after living on the streets. She’s bonded with her mom, Bea, and comes whenever Bea calls for her. When she’s not cuddling up with Bea, Remy likes to find a quiet, private place to chill, but don’t let that fool you. She’s always listening, and she’s quite curious to come out and see what’s happening. She gets bursts of energy and zooms around exploring, but only when it’s quiet and no humans are approaching her. Slowly but surely, Remy is warming up to humans and we’re confident that with gentle, slow socialization, Remy will be an excellent, albeit shy, companion to a human. Remy loves being around Bea, so it would be ideal if they can go to a loving home as a pair. If not, Remy might benefit from being in a home with another cat, as she seems to take the lead from Bea’s comfort with humans. We estimate that Remy was born in late 2023.
