Story
🐱 **Meet Elliot: Seeking His Quiet Corner of the World** Behind those cautious eyes lies a sweet boy just waiting for someone to see his potential. Elliot may be shy at first, but with patience and gentle understanding, he's ready to show you the loving companion he can become. Not every cat comes running for attention - some, like Elliot, prefer to write their love stories one careful chapter at a time. His friendship will be all the more precious for the trust you build together. We don’t know how Elliot is with other cats or dogs, but with slow, proper introductions, things are usually fine. Story
Jett is a Domestic Medium Hair (DMH), male, DOB: 2/15/19. Jett is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active lifestyle; without active, young children under the age of twelve (12); and without active or unruly pets already in the household. That being said, we think Jett could and will do well in a home with calm, cat-friendly dogs and possibly other compatible cats (we know he previously lived in a colony with other cats), so long as he is given the time he will need to adjust to his new environment and allowed to establish trust-bonds along with reasonable boundaries with other housemate pets. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption. Jett came to Monroe SPCA as a rescue from Monroe County Animal Control, along with his colony mates: Jade, Paddy, Skye, and more. Before they were live-trapped, the colony was not being cared for and in the middle of winter they had no way to keep warm - some were found frozen to death on the property. Jett, along with all the other cats rescued were treated for URIs, malnutrition, ear mites, Giardia, Coccidia, fleas, and Tape and Roundworm while with us. They also all received and are still receiving daily socialization with our volunteers. Now a healthy, happy, mostly confident cat, Jett is looking for a forever family who will welcome and embrace him as a life-long, beloved companion and family member, and always appreciate him as the entirely sincere and earnest, sweet natured, handsome feline he is. Jett currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet him by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above. All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption. Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI. For more information message us on Facebook or email info@monroespca.org.

Story
Eclipse is a gorgeous, lovely 6 year old; playful, sweet, cuddly. She has small kidneys, making her prone to UTIs. She has prescription food, but otherwise is healthy and requires no medications. The big issue is that she pees outside her box - this is behavioral. She likely has single kitten syndrome- we adopted her at 1 after all her siblings and mom were adopted when she was about 3 months old. Loud purrs and air biscuits, we love her so much and this decision is so hard. Eclipse deserves more attention and maybe a 1 or 2 cat household. Very sweet with kids, but excellent boundary setting (usually runs away).

She's a good cat, very vocal and affectionate. Did well in a house with a large dog. Unsure how she does with other cats. Did fine with the toddler running about so long as she has a tower to hide out on.

Story
Templeton and his brother were taken from an especially rough hoarding situation. Police intervened and all animals were extracted. It took a while for Templeton to overcome his fear of being hurt, but he did it! And is he ever a silly boy! He would thrive in a home with another mild mannered cat, and currently lives with calm dogs. If you want to know more about this cat, email us here: wacvolunteers@gmail.com! * AGE: 2 years old * TEMPERAMENT: Lap cat, would be ok as a solitary or with another mild cat * Why are they at the shelter? Rescued by police * Any Health issues? None known but can be nervous in hectic surroundings * How are they with other cats? Dogs? Good but needs to be with gentle animals * Volunteer Comments? " Templeton is such a brave cat!" "He loves brushing and attention." Thank you for your interest in adopting a shelter cat! NOW HOW DO I MEET OR ADOPT THIS CAT? !. Go to our website at wacshelter.com. 2. Click on the "Apply To Adopt" button to submit an online adoption application. ** NOTE: You will get an email confirmation that we have received your application. If you do not see this email appear upon submission, please check your "spam" folder. 3. A completely filled out application will take 1-3 days to process! Missing or inaccurate answers may invalidate the application. 4. We will set up a time with you to meet the animal you've applied to adopt! ** NOTE: Our volunteers strive to make the best possible match once the application is accepted. Our goal is a fit that benefits both the cat and the home! ** We DO give preference to applicants with verifiable pet experience. All cats are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV negative unless otherwise indicated. All cats are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. All of our resident cats use their litter boxes unless otherwise indicated. Cats are naturally inclined to use a litter box. Cat Fact: If a domestic cat is not using a litter box THEY ARE TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING IS WRONG! It should never be ignored! Your cat is depending on you for help. Our adoption fee for felines is $100. That covers the cost of spay/neuter, FeLV/FIV test, deworming, flea prevention (if applicable) and vaccinations (if applicable). We look forward to meeting you! Please email us at wacvolunteers@gmail.com with any additional question ** NOTE: Be sure to check out our Facebook page at Wyandotte Animal Shelter (https://www.facebook.com/wacshelter/) for day to day updates on our cats and dogs. :)
