Story
Meet Amari! This handsome young man has struggled to adjust to life in the shelter, preferring to do his own thing instead of hanging out with us as new people. However, his previous family described him as a fearless, affectionate, playful guy who loves everyone and is always up for a fun time! He likes to make biscuits on your lap, and he`ll sleep with you every night! He gets along with other cats and dogs, and didn`t mind the small kids in the house. Amari is likely very stressed by the kennel housing in the shelter and will settle into his new home well with a little patience. He`s a wonderful young cat that is sure to make a great addition to any home! He just needs someone to give him a chance.

Story
Meet Bear, the sweetest and friendliest feline at the shelter! His personality is as big as his name suggests, filled with a delightful mix of goofiness and curiosity. Bear`s funny antics will have you laughing out loud one moment, and his playful energy will keep you on your toes the next. But don`t let his lively spirit fool you. Bear is also a cuddly companion who loves nothing more than curling up for a good snuggle. He may be a bit shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he`s all purrs and gentle nuzzles. Bear would make the perfect addition to any family looking for a cat with a unique personality and a big heart. Why adopt Bear? Because every home needs a little Bear love! He also gets along with other cats!Bear was exposed to but tested negative for Feline Leukemia. It is a disease that can`t be treated, but infected cats are still able to live a happy and healthy life! FeLV is shed in the saliva and can be transmitted to other cats from behaviors like grooming and head butting as well as shared water or food bowls. The risk of transmission is moderate, so the adopter will need to use their best judgment regarding co-housing with negative resident cats until this cat is retested in 6-12 months. It is highly recommended this cat go home with a litter mate if they have any because they have already been exposed. This way they always have someone to play and snuggle with!

We have more to learn about her but we already know what a treasure she is.        HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Mama (Wilma) is a sweet beautiful affection kitty cat.  She is almost 7 years old and weighs approximately 12 pounds.  She is a little skittish at first (startled by loud noises) but once she gets used to her situation and warms up to her family, she turns into a velcro cat.  She will want to sit on your lap (if sitting) or on your chest (if laying) all the time.  She will sleep with her human every night.  She loves having her head and chin scratched for as long as you are willing to scratch. That being said, Mama is very skittish.  She does not like loud noises and is not a big fan other cats, other than her son Cody.  I think it is important that they stay together for their comfort.  Once she warms  up to you, she is a lovely affection cat.  It will take someone with patience and understanding. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 4, 2024, 7:53 am

Cody (Cootie) is a beautiful loving big ole’ gentle giant!  He is a 15 lb, 4 ½ year old big orange Tabby.  He has the loudest purrrrr I have ever heard.  He loves head scratches, belly scratches, butt scratches and laying on your lap or chest.  He likes to play with string and loves all of his little stuffed animal toys and wand toys.  That being said, Cody is very skittish.  He does not like loud noises and is not a big fan other cats, other than his momma.  I think it is important that they stay together for their comfort.  Once he warms  up to you, he is a lovely affection cat.  It will take someone with patience and understanding.
