Story
We are here looking to rehome our two cats, Zhongli and Posy. Zhongli is an older male, about 11-12 years old, and Posy is an adult female, about 6 or so. They are super sweet and loving cats. Zhongli is super friendly, and while Posy is a little bit more shy, once she warms up to you, she is a total lap cat. Both are up to date on all their vaccines. We do have to feed Zhongli the Royal Canin Urinary S/O food, since he had a urinary blockage a while ago and that helps keep it from coming back. Other than that, they are in great health. We would like to adopt them as a pair, since they are bonded (as you can see from the photos).

Story
Melanie is a beautiful 9-year-old medium haired tortoiseshell-tabby kitty looking for her forever home. Her favorite activities are looking out the window, laying in boxes, and chasing after toys. She also loves to try to eat people food, especially stroganoff and anything cheesy. Her fosters are honored that she likes their cooking!! But it is in Melanie's best interest to only eat cat food. Melanie is a playful girl and an excellent jumper. She can jump up to every window in her foster house! She likes to play with toy mice, and play "soccer" with whiffle balls. She keeps her area very neat and tidy - despite being fluffy, she isn't a big shedder. And she gives the best headbutts! When she wants to show she loves you, she rubs up on your legs or gives a little 'bonk'. If you become one of her select favorite people, she'll sit on your lap too. Melanie loves meeting new people, she's not one to hide. While she can be very sweet and affectionate, she doesn't usually like to be pet because she can become overstimulated. She gives clear warning signs when she wants to be left alone, but she will nip or smack if you don't respect her limits. Before she was rescued, Melanie was left outside when her old family moved away. She has a severe flea allergy and needs to stay on flea preventative in her forever home. Melanie had full senior bloodwork done, and she is in great health. Melanie is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment. Story
Meet Bowie! This fluffy perma-blep senior boy is EVERYTHING. Bowie is 11 years old and was found living outside, even though he clearly had a home at some point. Bowie was in rough shape - he was very ill and it was discovered he had no teeth and was completely deaf. Bowie has over come his health issues and has blossomed into a very loving dude. His foster family thinks his perma-blep makes him that much cuter. Despite his lack of teeth and hearing he gets along just fine. Bowie has some special care needs, that are really more maintenance. Bowie does take Dasuquin for his joints. He uses the Tidy Cat breeze system because traditional clumping litter gets all over his fluff. Bowie will come with the Tidy Cat breeze system litter box! Bowie loves attention and affection. He really likes head scritches and snuggling up with his humans at night. Bowie can be surprisingly playful! He has been in a foster home with other cats but doesn't really care for their company. He tolerates them but prefers the company of people. If you are looking for a gentle laid-back soul of a cat - Bowie is the guy for you! Bowie is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. Story
Meet Barry, the mischievous kitten with a heart as big as his antics! He's a bundle of energy, full of curiosity and playfulness. Barry's foster family nicknamed him "bad boy Barry", because he's always getting into something! Barry relies on his cute floofy face to get him out of any trouble. Despite his shenanigans, Barry is sweet, affectionate, and just loves to cuddle. His playful spirit and friendly demeanor make him the perfect companion. Barry needs attention and plenty of interactive play. He gets along with others and would love to be adopted with one of his siblings. He would be fine with another furry friend that can keep up with him. Adopt Barry and fill your life with laughter, love, and a little bit of mischief! Barry is currently in a foster home. Story
Hello, world! My name is Taiko, and I'm here to tell you about me and my wonderful mommy, Ochiba. We're a bonded pair looking for our forever home together! I’m a playful and affectionate 4-month-old girl kitten with long, smoky gray fur. I love being around humans just as much as I adore my mommy. My mommy, Ochiba, is a beautiful 2-year-old all-black cat. She’s a bit shy at first and will need some time to feel comfortable in a new home, but she's full of love. Our story began at the Detroit Animal Care and Control (DACC) shelter. Mommy was very overprotective of me, her only baby, and they had to separate us. It was so sad—Mommy was scared and about to be put to sleep because of her behavior. But then we were rescued and brought into a loving foster home where we could be together again. Mommy cried and trilled until she found me, and now we always sleep and cuddle together. We're fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped, ready for our new family. If you’re looking for a pair of loving, bonded kitties, please apply to meet and adopt us today! With purrs and cuddles, Taiko (and Ochiba) Taiko and Ochiba are currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting them, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens.
