Story
Meet New Arrival Frosty! Frosty is about 2 years old and weighs 10 lbs. He is a Domestic Medium Hair. Frosty takes a couple of days to warm up and then he is your BFF. Frosty just wants to be by your side and is happy to hang out while you work. Frosty is in a foster home with a dog, but as of right now he only wants to be near the dog on his terms. Frosty would do best in a home where he is not alone all day. Since Frosty is not fostered with other cats we are not sure how he would be with other cats. Frosty has perfect litterbox manners too:) Frosty is neutered, combo tested negative, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. NOTE: Frosty was recently diagnosed with asthma. It is controlled with medication and he is doing very well:) ***Please note that the first step in the process is to complete our nonbinding application (it does not commit you in any way but allows us to help you to find a great match). Our application review process also includes a veterinary reference check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives (if applicable) and examined annually by your vet.*** **You must be at least 25 years old to adopt an animal from CK Rescue.** Cats adopted through CKRescue must be indoor only and may not be declawed (unless already declawed at the time of rescue). *If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application. **

Story
Meet Squeaks - Squeaks was born on March 13, 2024. He is about 5 months old. Squeaks is a bit timid and shy of new people and relies on his brother, Mittens for support. Squeaks is still very young and with time and patience he will be able to build up his confidence. Once he is comfortable, he will come be near his people. Squeaks likes other cats and is young enough to learn to live with dogs who are cat friendly. Squeaks will need to go to a forever home with his brother Mittens. Squeaks would do best in a home where someone was around a good portion of the day to help him overcome his shyness. Kittens inherently do best in pairs. This kitten has age-appropriate vaccines, is microchipped and will need to be neutered at 6 months of age. The adoption fee for this kitten is $150, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the kitten is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Please note that the first step in the process is to complete our nonbinding application (it does not commit you in any way but allows us to help you to find a great match). Story
Thomas is very sweet and smart boy. He is quick to learn anything: tricks, treats, not to scratch furniture, playing 'track the wiggly thing under the blanket and guess where it pops out next'. Thomas is not afraid of anything, and his foster mom thinks he wants to be an engineer when he grows up. He wants to investigate close up the running vacuum cleaner, the saw blade (!), even the lawnmower out the window. He has beautiful long fine fur and loves to be brushed and scratched. He is such a hoot to watch when he slides on hard floors because of the tufts of fur between his toes. He is very sensitive to allergens such as dust. He needs a high quality diet and needs to be on meds to keep his sensitive skin at bay. He loves to sleep in the sun, greet people at the door, follow his human around, and he claims a spot on the bed right next to you. He is not clingy and is just happy in a busy home where he can watch and participate and play. Thomas loved his dog buddy in his previous foster home, and he is great with small children! Come visit Thomas to meet this super fun boy. Thank you for your interest in Thomas L! Story
This sweet bonded pair is looking for a new place to snuggle. Both are very fond of cuddling together in their heated bed. Puff loves to wiggle and roll around for while getting pets and will climb into your lap for some extra snuggles. Big Mama loves to give the cutest headbutts while seeking attention and pets. During the summer months they love to sun themselves in the window while watching birds and squirrels. While they have lived in a home with dogs, they would do better with no dog or a dog that has no interest in the kitties. Thank you for your interest in Puff! Story
Honey is such a gorgeous Turkish Van looking cat. She has all the features of a Turkish Van with head shape and tail fullness. She loves attention and will eagerly rub up next to you for pets. Give her scratches on her head and cheeks and she'll respond with the loudest purrs. Honey is an energetic cat and loves to play chase with her wand. Honey enjoys snuggling next to you and will come sit in front of you when seeking attention. She still finds comfort in her cardboard scratchers when feeling nervous to release that tension. We would like to see Honey in a loving home. She does fine with other cats and children. Please give Honey a home. She will bring you much joy and comfort Fostered in Fairfax
