Story
Please visit ladybirdanimalsanctuary.com for more info and to apply to adopt. This sweet old man was found as a stray in October, but no one claimed him. He was brought to Hamilton Animal Services, and because he is such a snugglebum, they got him ready to be adopted out. During routine medical exams, a lump was found in his neck and it was discovered that he had hyperthyroidism. This, along with being FIV positive, meant he was off the shelter’s adoption list. Because Hamilton Animal Services is overrun with so many cats right now, this, heartbreakingly, meant Arthur was put on the euthanasia list. Thankfully Ladybird were able to scoop up Arthur with literally with days to spare. This guy is absolute delight. In the mornings he yells until he gets cuddles and only then will he eat his breakfast. His favourite place is snugged up right beside his person, even if there really isn’t space for him. He will grumble if you disturb his nap or dare to move while he is relaxing beside you. In November, he had his thyroid removed, and we are happy to say he is doing much better. A post surgery test showed that his bloodwork was still at the right level, so he was taken off his thyroid medication. Since then, he has become much more active. He is a fan of anything he can chase or catch. His most recent checkup showed that his blood levels are still good, so he could finally stop getting thyroid food as well (which is good cause he does NOT like it). Arthur has not met any dogs or cats since coming into Ladybird’s care. He is FIV positive, so though not necessary, a household as the only cat would be best. He is a shy guy – he will hide if any visitors arrive. Arthur’s story highlights why it is important to adopt, not shop. Adopt from a shelter so they have space for more animals and don’t have to euthanize due to overcrowding. Adopt from a rescue, so they, in turn, can rescue more animals. Every person who has adopted from Ladybird has allowed another animal to be rescued and given another chance. If you can’t adopt, think about fostering. If you can’t foster, donate to Ladybird and other rescues. This allows more animals like Arthur to be saved! Please adopt Arthur! Visit ladybirdanimalsanctuary.com for more info and to apply to adopt. Adoption fee is $200

Story
Please visit ladybirdanimalsanctuary.com for more info and to apply to adopt. Katsura! AGE AT ARRIVAL: Approximately 10 years old ARRIVAL DATE: October 14th, 2023 GENDER: Spayed Female ADOPTION FEE: $200 Katsura ended up at Hamilton Animal Services as a stray and was not claimed. She is microchipped, but the chip was not traceable. This is your reminder to keep your pet’s microchip info up to date with the chip company! If you move or change your phone number without letting the company know, they won’t be able to contact you if your pet is lost or stolen. When Katsura arrived at the shelter, her ears were full of debris and they were very itchy. Her abdomen was distended, and her spine was prominent. Because of the overwhelming number of cats currently at Hamilton Animal Services, Katsura ended up on the euthanasia list because of her age and possible health issues. We were happy to get Katsura out of the shelter when HAS staff reached out to let us know her life was in danger. Thankfully, we had a foster home open up just at the right time, and they love fostering senior cats! Win win! Over the next few months, Katsura had many vet visits and was eventually diagnosed with calicivirus and mycoplasma it took a long time to get her healthy enough to be made available for adoption, but she’s ready! Because the possibility of future flare ups of the calicivirus and mycoplasma, Katsura should be the only cat in the home. Here’s a note from her foster family. “Katsura has to be the cuddliest cat that we have ever fostered. She is constantly on our laps, snuggling in our beds or can be found nestled in some blankets or clean laundry. She has a fantastic purr and will roll with you while sleeping- she doesn’t care if you roll over, she will just re-situate herself. Katsura has a fantastic purr and when she is really in a happy place, she definitely drools a little bit. Katsura is also a fantastic alarm cat. She knows exactly when it’s feeding time and will let you know when you are 30 seconds late with the cutest little me-ow. She adores her food and treats. Katsura contracted calicivirus and mycoplasma during her stay at animal services. These both will be a part of her life and she might have some flair ups during moments of stress and will have to go on antibiotics to make sure it doesn’t end with a sinus (and connecting ear) infection. Katsura’s ears were a mess when she first arrived at Ladybird and they tend to be a sensitive part for scratches so the we have learned to avoid scratching her ears unless Katsura lets them know its ok. Katsura has a fantastic warning growl before she swipes and now that her ears are cleaned up and not bothering her, those growls are few and far in between. Katsura is being fostered with a pupper who adores cats. She has no problem letting the dog know that she is the boss and to back off when he is getting too excited and it fine with ignoring him completely when just living together. We definitely have come across Katsura and the dog sleeping together on the couch. Although Katsura is estimated to be about 10 years old, she has bursts of energy and loves chasing toys around the house and attacking the feather duster. She also gets the cutest zoomies when it’s dinner time and will run around the house to get your attention that it’s time to eat.” Please adopt Katsura! Story
Meet Cleo! 1 1/2 yrs Spayed/Female Rescued from a hoarding situation, and urgently in need of medical treatment and care, this stunning black beauty is shy to start, but warms quickly into a gentle natured and inquisitive young cat who loves petting and brushing, but does not like to be picked up or held. Cleo does well with other mild mannered cats, enjoying company, but also preferring a bit of her own space - she would make a nice fit for an older cat friend who is looking for a cat buddy who isnt into intense, active physical play, but a friend to relax and perhaps cuddle and nap with as they get to know one another and form a caring bond. Cleo was born with deformed toes, resulting in very unusual shape and growth of her toes and nails, as a result, she underwent surgery and had one front paw fully declawed to remove nails and toes that we fused together, leading to on-going pain and discomfort - Cleo will require on-going attentiveness to her nails and will need regular grooming and pedicures to keep her nails trimmed, healthy, and he feet happy and comfortable. A beautiful, well mannered and sweet natured young cat with so much love to offer a lucky new family, Cleo hopes that there is a kind and caring family out there who can show her what it is to be a spoiled, well loved and treasured Forever Cat! Cleo has been fully vetted and vaccinated, she has been spayed and is fully recovered from the surgery on her paw. An adoption fee of $200 applies. If you have room in YOUR home and heart for beautiful Cleo, please submit an adoption application today at http://priderescue.ca/

🖤ADOPT HARLEY DAVIDSON🖤 M | 2Y | Domestic short hair | Neutered | UTD on shots | Dog tested | Not cat tested | Not kid tested | IV/FeLV Negative | Litter trained | Playful | Chill | Fostered in Toronto Rev up your engines and get ready for the one and only Harley Davidson! Enjoy living life in the fast lane? Then look no further for the playful, social, feisty feline Harley Davidson. This sweet cat is looking for his forever humans to join him on his ride through life! HD adores your attention like the showstopper he is. He loves to play, especially with his scratch toy. But he also needs some time to recharge himself. He can be chill or mellow, but he can also be the Curious George who adventures through your home looking for snacks! With the love of food deep in his heart, it is advised that he be served small quantities of food at a time for his ingestion. While being fostered in downtown Toronto, Harley Davidson has no problem with the bustling city noises as he chills on his balcony. He is quick to befriend new people and introduces himself via cuddles. With his current doggie sibling, they will have a few sniffing sessions but, overall, HD is indifferent to canine companions. With the proper guidance, it is possible he can have a warmer relationship with future dog friends. He has not met human children yet, but we anticipate he'll be fond of them after proper introductions and if they respect his space, like any feline friend. Similar with cats, while not having the pleasure to meet one yet, with the proper human support, he may bond with other cats. Are you ready to come along on Harley Davidson's journey? Join his team and fall in love with the lovely, independent Harley Davidson! He's waiting for you to be a part of his adventure. Fill out the Bark at the Moon adoption application.

🖤FOSTER-TO-ADOPT CRAIG🖤 M | 9W | Domestic Short Hair | Good with dogs | Not cat tested | Not kid tested | High energy | Playful | Social | Fostered in London Meet Craig! Our snuggly, affectionate baby boi is on a quest to find his furever family to love the heck out of! This easy-to-love fella is sweet like candy and the bestest buddy anyone could ask for. Craig is a social butterfly! He adores meeting new people and is always ready to greet your friends with a warm welcome and plenty of cuddles. His outgoing and friendly nature makes him a perfect companion for anyone looking for a furry friend. Craig is a bundle of energy, always ready for a good time! He'll spend his afternoons recharging his batteries with a nice nap, but come morning and evening, he's all about play. Whether it's with humans, his toys, or anything that catches his eye, Craig is here for a good game of play, hunt, or chase. He'll show his mouse toys who's boss and impress you with his climbing skills as he dominates his cat towers. If you say 'play,' Craig is all ears! While Craig's energy can lead to classic mischievous kitty behaviours, such as biting on wires and knocking over things, with the right guidance and plenty of love, he can improve in these aspects. This means that with your care and attention, you can help Craig become the best version of himself. Craig hasn't had the chance to meet human kiddos yet. However, with the proper guidance, he could form strong bonds with children. Similarly, Craig hasn't had the pleasure of meeting a fellow kitty, but we believe—with the appropriate support—that he may benefit from a feline friend to play with! Craig has had the fantastic chance to hang out with two doggos while with his babysitter, and he gets along great with them! With more guided and gentle exposure to the canine world, it is possible Craig will be making new dog friends left, right and center. With an adventurous soul, Craig adores exploring new nooks and crannies of your home. His curiosity and zest for life make him the perfect companion, adding a touch of excitement and joy into everyday! To foster-to-adopt (two week adoption trial), fill out the adoption application.

Daniel is a domestic shorthair black and white tuxedo male who is one year old. Daniel is currently in foster care with his best bud, Oliver. They follow each other around, groom one another, play together, and when all the fun is done, cozy up and sleep together. Due to their bond, they must be adopted as a pair. They would do best in a home where they are the center of attention or with other very confident pets. Hello, I'm Daniel. I'm a friendly and funny guy with a playful spirit that lights up any room. My best friend's name is Oliver, and I need to be adopted with him since we love to play and expend our energy together. I love nothing more than to curl up on a warm lap, purring contentedly as I receive all the love you're willing to give. I also love to sit in the window and watch the birds and squirrels outside. My favourite toys are springs, my ball maze and my squeaky mouse. I am not just a cat, I'm a companion, a friend, a source of laughter and comfort. I'm looking for a forever home with Oliver where we can share our joy and affection. Adopt us, and we promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and lots of purrs.
