Story
Meet Ginger! This poor gal has had a tumultuous life - she came to TCR front declawed and with an ear tip. She was surrendered by her first owner, then returned by her second. The vet estimates her age to be around 8 years old. Ginger is a loving girl who wants nothing more than *just the right amount* of attention. She is talkative and expressive - she will let you know when she is lonely or craving attention and will have a whole conversation if you want. Ginger is a play hard nap hard kind of gal, so she will need you to run around with her a lot, then give her a nice spot to snooze in later. She shows her love by sleeping in bed next to you every night, and being a lap warmer in the colder months. She tends to get overstimulated when excited or stressed, so it's best to let her decide when to be petted! Unfortunately, she will sometimes swat or use her mouth to tell her people when she's had enough (probably because of the declawing.) We think that Ginger would do best in a home where her adopters are willing to be patient with her and provide affection, but not push her boundaries. Small children are not likely to be a good fit for her as they may not be able to pick up on the signs and signals of overstimulation in cats. Ginger would probably do well as the only kitty in the home, or with a more easygoing cat that likes to play. With a very careful introduction, she is currently living with another younger cat and doing well. A lot of her nibbling seems to be from wanting to play and not knowing how to express it, so having another cat has significantly reduced this. She is not currently being fostered with a dog, but briefly met one and seemed relatively unphased. She may be able to live with a calm pup, with proper introductions. Ginger is estimated to be about 8 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Do you have a loving, patient home for a sweet older cat that knows exactly what she wants? Please apply today!

Proudly listing TCR fan favorite, Yeah Yeah! Yeah Yeah is a goofy cat with a huge personality. He is always popping his head out from some hiding place, tuck-'n-roll flopping over himself, or sitting posed with his paws crossed looking very demure, very mindful... in his litter box. He's talkative and sometimes we joke that his meows sound like he's yelling his own name - "YEAH!" Yeah Yeah enjoys the company of people as well as other cats. He loves being petted, batting toys around, and has successfully integrated with many others during his time in foster. He can sometimes be a bit of an instigator because he loves to play, so he would likely do best with someone of a comparable energy level. He appreciates slow introductions, although he can be a bit doofy about them at first, but once the awkward "who are you" part is over, he is usually good to go! He'd likely do just fine with respectful kiddos of any age, as long as he gets a gentle transition into his new home. He hasn't met a dog while in our care, but may be able to adjust to a cat-savvy pup. Most recently, Yeah Yeah has been successfully treated for FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). Although a reinfection with FIP would be considered rare, we would still recommend that any interested adopters educate themselves on this disease and what signs/symptoms to look out for. Yeah Yeah does have a chronically leaky right eye (a leftover reminder of a bad URI he and his littermates had as small kittens), but no further treatment is needed at this time, although we do wipe his face occasionally to help him look a little less disheveled. Yeah Yeah is about 2.5 years old. He has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Ready to adopt a very special cat? Please apply today!

Story
Sweet girl Gary came to TCR when she and 18 of her friends were trapped outside of a single residence. Although the kitties had a wonderful caretaker who was feeding and caring for them, the neighbors in the area disliked the cats and were devising cruel ways to get rid of them. Gary is still learning how to be brave in her foster home. She looks up to her other kitty friends and models after them, so a confident buddy in her forever home would likely help her feel more at ease. She'd be a great "cat for your cat" friend, especially while she is getting used to you! Once she is comfortable, Gary allows petting and *might* even enjoy it. We think she has the potential to be a really darling little companion, but her future adopters will have to put in some work to help her get there. Staring her out in one small room and spending time relaxing with her daily would be key. Like her friends, Gary hasn't been mean or aggressive - she's just a little scared (and who can blame her after what she's been through). Gary may be able to live with cat-savvy, older, respectful kiddos, but young children would likely be too much for her. None of the cats from this location have been fond of dogs, so no puppers, please! Gary is estimated to be about 4.5 years old. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. If you have room in your home and heart to help this sweet little kitty blossom, please apply today!

Story
Sad-eyed-Salmon was trapped along with 18 of her friends on the property of a single residence in the North Hills. Although the kitties had a wonderful caretaker, the neighbors in the area were not fond of the cats and were not always being kind to them. Salmon is used to having a human caretaker - she and the other cats used to line the windowsills of the home of their feeder and wait for him to come out with their food. In foster care, Salmon has grown to really enjoy pets and affection, but she is still nervous. She really needs an adopter who is committed to going slow with her, starting her out in one small room, and giving her time to adjust. She has SUCH an expressive face - you can always tell when something is worrying her. Once she trusts you, Salmon is not difficult to pick up or handle, and she will lean in for pets and scratches. She likes them so much sometimes she will just flop over, hoping for more. Salmon has lived with (many) other cats in the past, and we think she would enjoy a friendly cat buddy in her forever home - with proper introductions of course. None of the kitties from this area seem to like dogs, so cat-only homes, please! We think that Salmon could do ok with older, respectful, cat-savvy kiddos who know to respect her space. Salmon is estimated to be about four years old. She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Please consider giving this sweet girl a chance - we know there is an amazing cat in there just waiting for a chance to blossom.

Story
Michael has been in foster care for an entire year now! During this time, he has been reflecting and working on becoming the perfect cat for his new family. At 11 years old, Michael proves that you can teach an old *cat* new tricks. He came to us after his owner passed away. Originally an outdoor cat, Michael was brought inside a few years ago and much prefers indoor living! While he enjoys playing with toys and running around, his true loves are catnip and food. He also likes to lounge in a cozy cat bed and purr loudly, and now that he associates treats with humans, he enjoys following people around. Michael used to get easily overstimulated, but with patience and treats, he has learned to respect boundaries and walk away when needed. He has even started socializing with other friendly cats who respect his space. We believe Michael could make the perfect best friend for adults or a family with respectful, older kids! Michael is estimated to be about 11 years old. He has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Please apply for Michael today!

Story
Have you ever wanted to adopt a raccoon but realized you can't? Opt for a "trash cat" instead of a "trash panda"! Meet Lu! With her white-tipped tail, spunky demeanor, and love for bread, she's part raccoon at heart. Lu brings fun and a bit of chaos to any home. Lu, around 3 years old, joined Trash Cat due to her previous owner's housing issues. Full of energy, she needs ample mental and physical stimulation. Ideal for a home with space and structured playtime, Lu enjoys watching out windows, stealing carbs and birdseed, chewing on shoelaces, and lounging in the sun. While not overly cuddly, she loves human company, greeting you at the door, and bringing toys when she wants to play. Lu does well with older, cat-savvy kids and has adjusted to living with her foster's resident cat. She could live with another playful but respectful cat and prefers a dog-free home. She can exhibit stress a bit more easily than some cats, and to manage this, Lu is on a special urinary diet (Hills CD Multicare + Stress) and a sprinkle capsule medication which "takes the edge off". This capsule is inexpensive and easy to administer with food twice daily. Lu prefers starting in a single room before exploring a new home and thrives in quieter environments with stable routines. Lu has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Give this silly little character a second chance at a home and apply to adopt Lu today!
