Story
Name: Sunny Breed: Dutchie Shepherd mix Sex: F Birthday: 2020 Vaccinations: good thru 26’ Sunny is a very loving and affectionate puppy. Her “working dog’ breed gives her discipline and obedience off the charts. She is easy to work with. She was utilized as a therapy dog and I considered moving her toward service dog certification. However, she is a runt for her breed, and her motherly instinct makes her extremely sensitive and affectionate. She has high intelligence and also high emotional intelligence and she is very wonderful with children, and “mom” will watch them while you’re doing stuff in the house. Sunny enjoys long hikes/runs, cuddling at your feet, and mental exercises. One of her most amazing abilities is to keeping a running pace down to the second. I recommend her for a family with kids, or even a single person with an active lifestyle.

Story
Meet Cee Cee from Mississippi. She’s a sweet small dog with a beautiful brindle coat and hyena-like appearance (so adorable). She’s a young dog, so she has puppy energy for play, but can easily settle. She is fully house trained and sleeps through the night. She loves her foster’s dog; they play together and then sleep together (or on each other). For now, cat introductions should be monitored. She has had some good interactions, but is also excitable around them. Cee Cee just wants to play. She will play with other dogs, but will also entertain herself. She loves any and all toys. We are working on training commands. She knows sit, down, back, drop, no/leave it and we will continue with training. Cee Cee loves to snuggle, getting pets/scratches, and she will give kisses. She loves going in the car; she watches out the window or lays down quietly. She wants to be close to her people. Please come meet this amazing girl and consider her for your family.Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org August 19, 2024, 8:28 am

Story
Annie is a gorgeous 3-year-old female Dutch Shepherd mix. She is a very happy, sensitive, smart, and energetic dog. Annie is house trained. She knows the commands sir, lay down and stay. She walks fairly well on leash, she may pull a bit if there is a squirrel to investigate. She usually enjoys a good run at the dog park then she sleeps for the rest of the day. Annie is great with the 1, 2, and 5-year-old children she loves with. She is dog-selective but can be great with other dogs who are more submissive. Annie does have a high prey drive, so she shouldn't be with cars or small dogs. Annie is a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle and loves belly rubs. She does not bark unless she hears something suspicious outside. Annie does need a good fenced in yard or she will try to get out and find neighborhood buddies to play with. Annie would make a really wonderful companion and hiking dog. She weighs 75 pounds and is full grown. She is microchipped. Meet and greets are by appointment only with approved applicants. Adoption fee is waved but the application process is not. We believe you can always teach an ‘old’ dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. This pup, like all pups should be on heartworm preventative, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption form, downloadable from our website: https://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoption-request-form/ and return it per instructions. Story
DESCRIPTION: Ryker and Cadi were the apple of their daddy's eye. He adored both dogs and ensured that they had everything they needed to meet with success. Living in a home filled with love, this special pair had endless joy, playtime, and cuddles. All was right in their world until Ryker and Cadi's daddy received a serious medical diagnosis. Rather than take any chances, Ryker and Cadi's dad and his family took steps to ensure that both dogs would be well loved and cared for if this diagnosis proved fatal. Although their daddy fought hard, Ryker and Cadi had to say goodbye to their daddy much sooner than anyone thought possible. The grieving process is just as confusing and painful for animals as it is for humans. Helping each other through this process, Ryker and Cadi have been learning to adjust as a unit with the help of an incredible foster family supporting them on this difficult journey.  With their daddy, Tod, as their guardian angel, we know this pair will continue to move forward and will find a new home that will love them in their daddy's absence.  Typical of a bonded pair, Ryker and Cadi bring their own unique strengths and personalities to their relationship. Ryker, the male, is intelligent and playful. He relies heavily on Cadi, the female, for safety and confidence. She helps Ryker maintain stability and try new things that may seem a little intimidating without Cadi at his side. Known for needing a little time to trust before he is ready for snuggles, Ryker hopes his next family understands that with a little patience he will bloom. Cadi is the fun of the party. Happy to share her joyful activities with Ryker, she loves having her best friend at her side. A huge fan of toys that talk, Cadi is hoping that her next family has a “giggle ball" ready for her upon arrival. As a bonded pair, Cadi and Ryker are looking for a home that has the room in their hearts for two.  Fortunate to have had a solid foundation put in place, both Cadi and Ryker are fully trained. They understand commands and love to exercise their bodies and minds every day. Although they are on point with basic training, it is important that their next family continue the training process. This will help Cadi and Ryker form a strong and healthy bond with their family. It will also help them continue to develop the skills needed to become good canine citizens. Having lived in a loving home, Ryker and Cadi are house broken, crate trained, and understand many of the ins and outs of living in a home. However, as is true of any new dog, this pair will need time to adjust to the specific expectations, structure, and routines of their new family. When given time, patience, and leadership, we know they will adjust. Ryker and Cadi have been through enormous changes, but they remain incredible dogs. If your  family is looking for a pair that is playful, curious, and ready for an adventure, Cadi and Ryker are the right match for you.  August 12, 2024, 6:56 pm
