Story
Inca is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS ABOUT ME: There is nothing Inca loves more than humans and thrives on human connection - she will greet everyone with her wagging tail and endearing looks. A true social butterfly, Inca is a favorite during walks, where she gladly accepts all the pets and praises showered upon her. She loves to spend her days going on long walks in the park, playing tug-of-war, looking out the window, and snoozing at home. She is an independent girl and will do well alone - some quality time outdoors with her people is all she needs to keep her happy. While Inca is generally great on her walks, she is learning to 'look at me' to help with her fear of big trucks. She has fairly good recall (though sometimes she cannot resist reaching the nearest human for pets) and is starting to get comfortable with being off leash outside so she can do what she loves the most - run free and play tag with her human in the park. Inca has been known to do fairly well in a crate in the past, but she is the best-behaved girl when left on her own, and will easily relax in her favorite spots at home. Though she loves to say hello and play with most dogs she meets, she is still learning to share and can get easily overwhelmed, and may be best suited as the only dog at home. Inca has spent her time in different homes, but she is a resilient girl - she is looking for a patient, forever home with people who can understand her sensitivities and give her the comfort she is craving for. ATTRIBUTES: Inca should not be placed in a home with children, but does well with children outside of the home. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. We strive to provide accurate information on all of our animals however, we are unable to guarantee an animal's breed, size, health, behavior, temperament, or any other conditions. Story
Granby is a handsome 8-year-old Foxhound/Beagle mix. He has had a lot of change in his life and is seeking new accommodations. First, his human died and then his best buddy who was a cat died. He finds himself a little out of sorts with folks who are keeping him safe but not dog people. He is house trained and walks well on leash. He is tentative about strangers coming to the house and needs to work on proper introductions or put in another room or crate if guests are over. Granby has 5 personal trainer sessions with a trainer who knows him that will transfer to his adopter (Falls Church, VA area, willing to travel in DMV area). His ideal home is a quiet one without children and lots of people coming and going. We are seeking an adopter who has Fox Hound or dog experience who knows how to show leadership to a pup. He weighs 70 pounds and is full grown. Adoption fee is waived, but approval process is not. Meet and greets are by appointment only with approved applicants. If you are interested in fostering to adopt, please fill out the online application: https://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoption-request-form/ If you have been approved within the past 6 months and are interested in Granby, please reply to your approval email. Email dogs@lastchanceanimalrescue.org with questions. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates: www.facebook.com/lcarmd

This sweetie was picked up following a post person because she fed them. Very sweet, friendly and happy, she has the typical hound personalities!! Lily does tend to hang back a little and see what's going on around first. She likes to play and does well with the pups she is with right now. She will need all of the puppy training along with leash work. She is just a great puppy ready for a family to go on adventures with. She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

(*Please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending each event.*) You know the saying, "A penny for your thoughts"? Well, once you meet sweet Penny, she'll be the only thing on your mind! A recent mama, this lovely tricolor hound mix is 7 years young and has a calm and friendly demeanor. She's always ready to make new friends, whether human or canine. As for cats, we’re unsure if she sees them as friends or foes. Penny is the perfect balance of calm, cuddly, confidence, and independence. At seven years old, this sweet gal has experienced a lot, but she still enjoys roaming around outside and making new friends. Although she may be slow-going at times, Penny is still such a sweet pup. Penny loves to go on walks, and her leash manners are impeccable. She doesn’t seem to know any basic commands, but she’s a pro at “hounding,” taking her time to stop and sniff out every new scent she encounters—there’s always something exciting to discover in her eyes (and nose)! And, of course, like a true hound, she hasn’t met a treat she didn’t like. If you’re looking for an older laid-back gal with a calming presence who’ll be a loyal and loving companion, pretty Penny just might be the perfect match for you!

Found as a stray, this sweet girl can be a bit timid at first but warms up to new people quickly. She also enjoys meeting and playing with other dogs. Pearl is the perfect size for any hound-loving family! Please check back soon for more details about her!
