Story
This little guy is a twelve week old bassett mix boy named harrison.  13 pounds, this little dynamo, will run his legs off to come and give you kisses as he tries to show you that he knows the command to 'sit'    This precious little boy was born to a litter of six puppies, and whose mama was a pure bred Basset Hound.  True to form, Harrison  has his nose to the ground as he runs around the fenced yard at his foster home.  While being fostered, he is enjoying the guidance of his dog mentor, a handsome Golden Retriever male that is showing him the ropes.  He has a great sense of recall when his foster parents call him in from the yard.  Harrison is just the cutest little cuddle pup with his adorable short legs, long chunky Bassett body and the most adorable freckles sprinkling his nose and body. He will be a Bassett sized adult when grown and your biggest ioverboy that wants your lap to sit upon as he thinks he's a Chihuahua!!!   He's ready to go!!!   Are you?  Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at Ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 6, 2025, 7:38 pm

Story
This charmingly handsome boy's name is McCartney and he is a little puppy born to a Pure Basset momma who had a litter of six pups.  Mccartney is a very sweet gentle lay back little guy who is 12 weeks old and weighs fourteen pounds.  He is a comical little thing that loves to sniff the ground and run on his short little Basset legs and sit in your lap for sweet cuddles and kisses.  This little guy is learning what a warm house and good food two or three times a day is all about. He has a Big Brother who is an adult Golden Retriever male, and he is learning a lot from this 80 pound dog who belongs to his foster parents.  McCartney is going to be a head turner with his vivid white and black spotted long body, short little legs and his sweet endearing face framed with those Hound dog ears.  If you are interested in adopting McCartney, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at Ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 9, 2025, 5:29 pm

Story
Hi, everyone. My name is stella mccartney and I am a dairy special Bassett Hound mix puppy that was born the middle of October to a pure bred Bassett Hound mom.  Me and my siblings were born in the woods where the man who owned my mom was living in a tent and down on his luck. He contacted a foster of Critter Cavalry Rescue, and she came to pick us up a few weeks ago and help us get our shots and worming and our spays and neuters done.  I am living in a terrific foster home that is allowing me to run and play in the yard and in the house, and to also be mentored by their adult dogs who are showing me the ropes.  My foster mom laughs at me because she says I am fearless.  It seems that one of the adult dogs really doesn't like me and my sister very much because of our puppy energy, but I still persevere trying to get him to like me. My foster mom says I don't take no for an answer.  I am a happy girl and very excited about meeting a new family soon.   We are going to have so much fun running in the backyard and letting me.Sniff and play and explore and cuddle. I can do all of those things really well and I promise to make some family's life extremely happy.  Please read up on the bassett, hound traits, and be sure that you can give me the best life ever.  Write to Ccrnewengland@gmail.com  asap.   I'm in Nashville, TN,  but can transport up right away to the northeast.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 9, 2025, 5:29 pm

Story
Hello world, my name is linda ronstadt, and I am a basset hound, mix puppy, that is thirteen weeks old and I weigh fourteen pounds.  I was born to a purebred basset mom, who is owned by a homeless man living in a tent on his family's property. The man loves my mom, but has personal problems that forces him to live in the tent and recently. thirteen weeks ago, six puppies were born and they were raised out in the woods. My story is pretty miraculous because all of my brothers and sisters are healthy, and we were lucky that critter cavalry stepped in and took us to foster homes a few weeks ago.  My foster mom thinks I am the sweetest little girl and says that I have a shy side about me. That makes me hesitant to ask you for love. I kind of stay in the corner and wait for the foster humans to come pick me up. I guess you could say I need some confidence-building. And I'm sure some family will do that for me.  I love to play with my siblings.  I am a little girl that is going to make someone very  happy if they adopt me.  I will be the size of a Basset Hound as an adult, about 45 lbs.  I love attention and I'm ready to go start my new life and be taught all the best dog manners in life.   Are you ready to invite me home?  Write to ccrnewengland@gmail.com asap.    PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 9, 2025, 5:29 pm

Story
Benny has never met a stranger. He loves almost everyone he meets, although he is a little anxious around small children. He is great with other dogs. His personality has been described as goofy. Do you see his beautiful Bette Davis eyes? Benny would make a great second dog. Benny had a fractured leg. He has had FHO surgery 3/2023 and is all healed. He puts weight on the leg but may have a limp. Katie T. has become Benny's Guardian Angel In Honor of her Grandmother. Benny comes to us from a crowded rural southwestern Virginia shelter.  Breed: beagle/hound Gender: Male DOB: approximately 5/2022 Size potential: 35 pounds PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Meet Bennett, the life of the pawty! This playful unicorn is a social butterfly who thinks every day is a celebration! Whether it's meeting new people, furry friends (of all shapes and sizes!), he's got his tail wagging and a smile on his face. Bennett is an energetic (but also chill) pup who would thrive with a playful doggo buddy to join her on hikes, zoom around the yard, or conquer the neighborhood on long walks. With some positive reinforcement, he'll be your perfect walking companion! We think Bennett would do best in a home with semi-active humans who love long walks, or a fenced yard for epic zoomies sessions. But just as hard as Bennett likes to play, he also likes to cuddle. After a good romp, he is sure to thank you for taking such good care of him with endless snuggles. Do you have room in your life for Bennett? Contact Lost Dog ASAP!

He may not be made of chicken, but he sure is a treat! This great guy has just come to Lost Dog from the great state of Tennessee! He has traveled a long distance to find his forever home. Though Nugget is new to us, he has certainly made his mark with our volunteers, well known for his friendliness and great manners on leash, and nearly no pulling while he’s been with us! Not only has Nugget done well on leash, he even knows some tricks! He has demonstrated both the “sit” and “shake” command, with and without treats! Wow! He is affectionate as he is friendly, making for a great balance of playfulness and cuddliness. Nugget loves gentle hugs as a show of great friendship and a great way of getting your attention. At the end of the day, all he wants and needs is love, and if you can give that to this stunning boy, you’ll receive a lifelong companion.
