Story
Female, 6 years old, 53 lbs Personality: Outgoing, affectionate, playful, gentle, snuggler, and energetic. Say hello to Eleanor, a caring hound mama with a loving and playful spirit! Eleanor is a top-tier cuddler who will gladly curl up beside you for some quality snuggle time. She’s also a big fan of toys and romping around with other dogs her size. Eleanor is crate-trained, though she’s still perfecting her house training and learning words like “sit.” Eleanor’s cheerful personality shines bright during walks and she'll gently slow down when the leash tightens. She greets everyone—dogs and humans alike—with a wagging tail and plenty of friendly charm. While Eleanor and cats may not be the best of friends, she does very well with smaller dogs and loves burning off energy in the yard or park. Her playful mornings mixed with relaxed afternoons make her a wonderful balance of energetic and mellow. Eleanor's ready to bring endless joy to a family willing to give her the care she deserves. Apply today to meet Eleanor! _______________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Good with:Dogs Not tested with:Cats, kids House trained:Mostly with an occasional accident Energy level:Medium Noise level:Medium (barks when someone is at the door, or sometimes to get your attention) Hi, Im Dreamer! Im a sweet, playful little hound with a heart full of love and cuddles to share. My favorite thing in the world is being close to my peopleand maybe sneaking in a kiss or two for my doggy friends! Im a medium-energy pup who loves zoomies, playtime, and snuggling up for some affection afterward. Im still learning my manners, but Im a fast learner with the right guidance. I already know come, in a fenced yard with my current foster parents. Im crate-trained and happy to rest in my cozy spot when no one is home or at night. Potty training is still a work in progress, but Im trying my best! Walks are another thing I enjoy, especially when I can meet new friendsboth people and dogs, and Im generally polite on the leash. The cutest thing about me? I hold up my front paw when Im sitting or waiting for foodits just my special way of being me! Whether its playtime, cuddle time, or learning new things together, Im ready to be your best friend. Could I be the perfect match for you? My foster guardian says: "Dreamer is very, very affectionate and is a wonderful companion all day long. She has a sweet disposition." Likes: Zoomies and playing with other dogs My ideal home:While I'm still working on my housetraining, I'd do best with a family that can take me outside for quick potty breaks often throughout the day. Otherwise, I'd do well in a variety of homes! I currently live with three other dogs but don't require a home with another pup. Please visit our website www.ruraldogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other dogs available for adoption!

Story
Alvin wants you to know that his name is British and means 'noble friend'! And that is a very appropriate name for him for he is friendly to everyone he meets. He is a small and quiet hound (very little barking in the kennel) who likes the company of people. He likes other dogs too! He is not in a foster home yet but he is very clean in his kennel so we think he may be housetrained. If you are interested in Alvin please let us know. Thank you for your interest in Alvin! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=18397 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Alvin, or to submit an online application. Story
Benny has never met a stranger. He loves almost everyone he meets, although he is a little anxious around small children. He is great with other dogs. His personality has been described as goofy. Do you see his beautiful Bette Davis eyes? Benny would make a great second dog. Benny had a fractured leg. He has had FHO surgery 3/2023 and is all healed. He puts weight on the leg but may have a limp. Katie T. has become Benny's Guardian Angel In Honor of her Grandmother. Benny comes to us from a crowded rural southwestern Virginia shelter.  Breed: beagle/hound Gender: Male DOB: approximately 5/2022 Size potential: 35 pounds PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. To learn more about Bennett, please contact dogs@lostdogrescue.org Bennett will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events* Calling all party animals! Meet Bennett, the life of the pawty! This playful unicorn is a social butterfly who thinks every day is a celebration! Whether it's meeting new people, furry friends (of all shapes and sizes!), he's got his tail wagging and a smile on his face. Bennett is an energetic (but also chill) pup who would thrive with a playful doggo buddy to join her on hikes, zoom around the yard, or conquer the neighborhood on long walks. With some positive reinforcement, he'll be your perfect walking companion! We think Bennett would do best in a home with semi-active humans who love long walks, or a fenced yard for epic zoomies sessions. But just as hard as Bennett likes to play, he also likes to cuddle. After a good romp, he is sure to thank you for taking such good care of him with endless snuggles. Do you have room in your life for Bennett? Contact Lost Dog ASAP!
