ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/14068Meet Trixie - The Sweet and Affectionate Treeing Walker Coonhound!:Name: TrixieGender: FemaleBreed: Treeing Walker CoonhoundAge: 2 yearsWeight: 46 lbsCurrent Location: Bristow. VAAbout Trixie Hello! My name is Trixie! I'm a Treeing Walker Coonhound with a sweet personality, ready to give you all my love and loyalty. At 46 lbs, I'm the perfect size, don't you think?PersonalityI’m a cuddler and love affection. I like to talk, dog talk that is, and if I don’t get my way, I’ll try telling you about it. I love dogs, children, and people, and I jump up to give hugs and kisses! I’m very lovable and sweet with a sassy side. I can be a bit noisy in the crate if you leave me alone during the day, but I’m working on it. I sleep in my crate quietly at night once I have a full day with exercise and play time. I love play dates with neighbor pups and visits tobthe dog park.Skills and TrainingI am potty trained and getting the leash thing down pretty good by following simple commands and getting treats. CompanionshipIf you’re looking for a sweet and affectionate companion, I’m the one for you! I’ll bring warmth, joy, and loyalty to your home and be there to welcome you every day with a wag and a hug. I love greeting, meeting, and playing with other dogs. I do best with siblings to keep me active, or with active adopters. Energy LevelI have a good amount of energy and need plenty of physical and mental exercise to stay happy and healthy. I love treats and will sit and shake for some! I’m still learning to be my best, so I need someone who is patient and willing to help me continue to grow and learn. Love and AffectionI have a lot of love to give and can’t wait to share it with someone who appreciates my friendly nature!

To learn more about Penny, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Penny will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event she will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/. (*Please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending each event.*) You know the saying, "A penny for your thoughts"? Well, once you meet sweet Penny, she'll be the only thing on your mind! A recent mama, this lovely tricolor hound mix is 7 years young and has a calm and friendly demeanor. She's always ready to make new friends, whether human or canine. As for cats, we’re unsure if she sees them as friends or foes. Penny is the perfect balance of calm, cuddly, confidence, and independence. At seven years old, this sweet gal has experienced a lot, but she still enjoys roaming around outside and making new friends. Although she may be slow-going at times, Penny is still such a sweet pup. Penny loves to go on walks, and her leash manners are impeccable. She doesn’t seem to know any basic commands, but she’s a pro at “hounding,” taking her time to stop and sniff out every new scent she encounters—there’s always something exciting to discover in her eyes (and nose)! And, of course, like a true hound, she hasn’t met a treat she didn’t like. If you’re looking for an older laid-back gal with a calming presence who’ll be a loyal and loving companion, pretty Penny just might be the perfect match for you!

Story
Meet Alvin - Your Noble Friend! Alvin's name is British and means 'noble friend'-and it couldn't be more fitting! This sweet, small hound is as friendly as they come, greeting everyone he meets with a wagging tail and gentle charm. Quiet and calm, Alvin rarely barks in his kennel and seems to genuinely enjoy the company of people. He gets along well with other dogs too, making him a wonderful companion all around. While Alvin isn't in a foster home just yet, he keeps his kennel very clean, which suggests he may already be housetrained. If you're looking for a loyal, loving buddy, Alvin might be the perfect match. Reach out to learn more or set up a meet-and-greet-we'd love to introduce you! Thank you for your interest in Alvin! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=18397 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Alvin, or to submit an online application. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Visit our website for more information about our adoption process.

Story
Ruby is a girl that takes a minute to adjust but when she does, she will give you all of her. When she gets excited she'll show you by full body wiggles and the tongue hanging out the side of her mouth. She thinks that she can work her way into any dogs heart and the sound of her voice can get her whatever she wants. Ruby excels with at least one other dog to help show her what right looks like. She has done well with friendly dogs big and small.

Story
Bella is a sweet and loving girl. I adopted Bella when she was 2 months old from the spca, she is now 5. I was young when I got her and lived at home with family now, I live in a new city, work full time as well as in school full time. Bella deserves a family that has time to take her on long walks, play with her, and love on her really good. Bella is a sensitive dog, she definitely picks up on the emotions around her. She is high energy and a bit silly haha, but in the sweetest way. She is not so fond of other dogs, but is not aggressive. She typically just barks and she runs away (hence the silly I was talking about haha). She absolutely loves people, but has not spent much time around kids. From the interactions I have seen though, she is calm around them.
