Story
Bella is a sweet and loving girl. I adopted Bella when she was 2 months old from the spca, she is now 5. I was young when I got her and lived at home with family now, I’m in a new city, work full time as well as in school full time. Bella deserves a family that has time to take her on long walks, play with her, and love on her really good. Bella is a sensible dog, she definitely picks up on the emotions around her. She’s high energy and a bit silly haha, but in the sweetest way. She’s not so fond of other dogs, but isn’t aggressive. She typically just barks and she runs away (hence the silly I was talking about haha). She absolutely loves people, but hasn’t spent much time around kids. From the interactions I’ve seen though, she’s calm around them.

Story
❗Current location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Say hi to OhGong👋 a sweet, friendly boy with a charming black muzzle! He was found on the street in South Korea at 3 months old and taken to a high-risk city shelter along with his five other siblings. Luckily, they were rescued right before euthanasia by the rescue team and started living with other dogs in the local shelter. Despite some time spent at the shelter, Ohgong was given a chance to live in his current foster home in June 2023. His current foster family has been taking good care of him since, and Ohgong has learned how to harmoniously live with people with love, and now he is ready to find his forever home😊 • Personality: Friendly, Sweet, Gentle Just like when OhGong was widely known for his super friendly personality among the shelter staff, he continued to be very loving and sweet to his foster family. He loves to kiss you and be petted by you. His energy level is medium. He is usually calm at home but becomes active when playing with toys! Plus, he is such a gentle walker. • Affinity with - Dogs: Very dog-friendly! He doesn’t even bark towards other dogs. - Cats: He tends to chase cats out of curiosity but doesn’t show aggression. - Adults/Kids: Good with people in general but a little bit shy around male adults / Okay with kids. He is rather indifferent to them. • Walking Manners: Super well-mannered! Pacing with his person without pulling the leash. He responds to “Let’s go” while sniffing around. • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, going potty outdoors as well as using pee-pads indoors • Bathing/Brushing: Tolerates both very well. • Car Rides: Very comfortable with car rides. • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 • Separation Anxiety: None. He showed some signs of separation anxiety at the beginning of foster, but not anymore when two months of foster passed. He spends most of his time sleeping while he is left alone at home. • Barks/Howls: Almost none. Just a little bit of barking only when greeting his family at home. • Appetite/Food Allergies: No allergies. • Likes/Dislikes: OhGong LOOOVES playing with toys, especially squeaky ones! He seems to even prefer toys to treats. If you have an open heart and a loving home for Ohgong, please don't hesitate to apply!

Story
** Current Location: in a private facility in South Korea ** • Rescue Story : A dog with its eyes completely missing, a dog whose body was entirely blackened, a dog with rotting genitals... We struggle to find the words to describe the horrors we witnessed. Like hamsters on a wheel, the dogs cried out for help. There were every kind of dog here, some that were once fashionable and others currently in demand. The once trendy dogs were dying in the corner, while those now popular were crying out for salvation with every part of their body. This place had been illegally breeding and abusing animals for 25 years. From this hell, the rescue team saved Charo. • Personality: Calm, subtle affection, gradually open up Charo is gentle, calm, and like cotton candy when it comes to human touch, melting into affection. Charo may show some defensive behavior toward people who approach him suddenly. He prefers a slow, calm introduction, and once he feels comfortable, his heart will open. He likes soft, cushioned places like blankets or beds, so providing a soft space for him is recommended. • Affinity with -Cats: Not tested -Dogs: Charo gets along well with other dogs but prefers playing with calmer ones that match his pace. He enjoys playing like a young puppy with a dog companion who shares his energy. Charo would adapt easily to a home with a dog that matches his temperament. -Adults/Kids: Good with all people except for kids who struggle with controlling their touch. • Shedding: 5-6 (1-10 scale) • Walking Manners: Charo has not yet been on a walk. Once his adoption is confirmed, the rescue team will provide him with as much walking training as possible, but the adopter will need to continue practicing walking with him. • Housetrained: Charo is still learning how to use a pad for bathroom needs. He has not fully adjusted to pad training, so support will be needed to reinforce this habit. Once his adoption is confirmed, the rescue team will continue pad training, though the adopter will need to continue training with him as well. • Separation Anxiety: None • Barker or Quiet: Rarely barks when dogs around him start to bark • Food Allergies: None • Likes & Dislikes: Likes Food, comfortable and soft places! / Not a fan of Sudden, forceful interactions • Health: Charo underwent patellar surgery on both of his knees and is now fully recovered. He requires ongoing attention to ensure balanced muscle development through walks and stretching.

To learn more about Belle, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Presenting the ever-beautiful Belle! This former mama is on the lookout for her forever home. She took such good care of her puppies, she’s sure to take great care of your family. At 6 years old and 26lbs, Belle is a good size and good age all around. Belle has the poise of her beagle breed and has even gotten along with cats in her foster home. Belle has also done well with dogs her size or smaller and LOVES food. She will take it right out of your hand! Belle would do best in a home with children older than 10 until she learns how to politely take food. That’s not to say she’s a troublemaker at all, in fact, she’s the opposite, always playing the angel and staying out of trouble. Belle has been very submissive in her foster home, quiet and reserved. She would love a home where she can continue to come out of her shell! If this great beagle with motherly instincts strikes your fancy, please contact us! Don’t miss this chance to Belle-ify your home!

Story
To learn more about Xena, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Xena was surrendered from a commercial breeder. She was no longer wanted, and had no place to go. Xena deserved better, so we opened our doors and hearts to change that for her. She is an adorable, special little dog who has endured quite a lot on her way to the safety of Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation. She is looking for a family with abundant patience, love, and an understanding of her needs to help her be a wonderful companion - and your best friend forever. She would especially enjoy the company of another dog to show her how much fun being a part of a family can be! Xena can be shy, often hesitant in new situations. Despite her fears, she never loses her gentle demeanor. Xena's smart, gentle, and shy personality is waiting to blossom in a loving home. Her adoption would mean a life of shared affection and companionship. Contact Lost Dog if you can give Xena the chance to conquer her fears and thrive in a nurturing environment.

Story
Jitterbug is roughly 10-11 years old. He was a rescue as a puppy in Ohio and has been with me ever since. He is very active, happy and high energy. Our family is growing with new needs and demands and he needs a home with more attention, outdoor time and space. He had a tumor and toe removed a few years ago but no issues since. Very well trained. He is only toy and food aggressive around other dogs sometimes, I imagine due to years of it being just him. He has had yearly physical, up to date on everything. It is truly just our lifestyle change. He is 29 lbs average. He has two fatty cysts that have been checked and aspirated and don’t seem to bother him.

Please contact Perry Meade (perrym@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet squishy pup looking for loveFRUITY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name: Fruity           Best Guess for Breed: Beagle/Hound Mix     Best Guess for Age: 8 weeks as of 3/5/25            SEX: Female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 10lbs as of 3/5/25   Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at: SC Rescue Campus, Fruity needs a foster to come to the DC area!   Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Fruity is Looking For: Hiya! I'm Fruity! Me and my sisters, Flower, Feathers, and Fidget have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! Puppy Vetting Requirements:  Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 7/6/2025. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
