Story
Meet Queen B of the Q pups! Queen B is a lovely girl who is ready for her own family. While her breed is a mystery, her mom is about thirty pounds and we thing Queen B will about the same size. She and her siblings have loved life with mother, Baby and her foster mom. She is learning about all the good things in puppy life, like running around outside and getting lots of love from everyone she meets. Queen B does well with other dogs and is young enough to learn about cats. The adoption fee for this puppy is $475, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. A $250 spay/neuter deposit is required at time of adoption. This fee covers spay/neuter at one of PetConnect's preferred veterinary partners. If the adopter chooses to use their own veterinarian, the deposit will be returned with proof of sterilization. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email cmacdonald@petconnectrescue.org **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Story
Jojo is a sweet and playful mixed breed girl looking for her forever home. This charming 5-year-cutie has a beautiful white and brindle coat. While she might need a minute to warm up to new faces and settings, once she feels comfortable, she is incredibly loving and loyal. Jojo is currently in a foster home where she's been showing off her good manners and vibrant personality. She loves to play and has a gentle, affectionate side that will melt your heart. Jojo enjoys being around her people and would thrive in a home where she can be a beloved member of the family. She's great on a leash, enjoys her daily walks, and is always up for some playtime in the yard. Her foster family reports that she's well-behaved indoors and loves snuggling up for some quality cuddle time. She's only 27 pounds so she won't take up much room on the couch! Jojo's ideal home would be one where she can continue to grow in confidence and be given plenty of love and attention. She loves other dogs and would love a dog companion in her forever home but may be okay as the star of her future family's eyes. Are you ready to give Jojo the loving home she deserves? Jojo is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. Meet Drew! Drew is a three-year-old, 37 pound Beagle who is loving life in his foster home with his brother Ford. They are great in their crates, and learning the ropes with leash training and not jumping up! They love to be near you and will need a fenced in yard. They are now pros at using the doggy door into the backyard. Drew is an outgoing guy who loves to play with his foster siblings. He is quiet unless the other beagles get calling, and then he has to join in! Their favorite place to be is on the couch, on either side of their foster mom! These lovely pups will pay you back with all the beagle-snuggles you could ever want. They would be happy to be adopted together, but could also be happy if you have another dog to show them the ropes. Drew is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. Story
Meet sweet PUMA who just arrived! Puma is a beautiful 1.5 year old, 35 pound, black and tan beagle mix. She is shy but warms up and is friendly; she may do best with another dog to help her build her confidence! Puma gets along well with other dogs, and ignores the kitties. Puma lost her way in rural North Carolina and was so frightened that she had to be trapped; we can not understand why her people did not look for or retrieve such a sweet dog from the NC shelter. The shelter let us know that although frightened she was a very sweet submissive dog and warmed up, especially on walks with other dogs. They were overcapacity and urged PetConnect Rescue to pull her because she was in danger; PetConnect was able to bring her to the DC area because a great foster offered to give her a place to hangout so she could find her new home that will adore her furever. Puma already is making progress overcoming her shyness. In the comfort of her foster home, she has learned how good it can be to have a nice soft dog bed! She likes to go for walks, is a great size, and is a "quiet" beagle mix, with an adorable very expressive face and eyes. Puma would be a great companion to curl up at your feet on a summer evening. ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ) , spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Puma is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Archie  (ARC0821OWSMN)Estimated Breed:    Beagle/FeistApproximate Age:   6-7 yearsApproximate Weight:  45 lbs Currently Living at:  BoardingAdoption Fee:  $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Hi, I'm Archie! Once, I lived in a crowded home, too many of us to count. It was a bit like being in a superhero comic, except I wasn't saving the world, just trying to survive. One day, a team of real-life superheroes came. They called themselves 'Animal Rescue'. They gently lifted me into a big van, and whisked me away to a place they called 'k9lifesavers'. It was scary at first, but I learned to trust these new friends. I still get anxious around other dogs, but I'm working on it. I'm sweet, friendly, and loyal, just waiting for my forever sidekick. Could that be you?  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.        Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!
