To learn more about Penny, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Penny will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event she will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/. (*Please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending each event.*) You know the saying, "A penny for your thoughts"? Well, once you meet sweet Penny, she'll be the only thing on your mind! A recent mama, this lovely tricolor hound mix is 7 years young and has a calm and friendly demeanor. She's always ready to make new friends, whether human or canine. As for cats, we’re unsure if she sees them as friends or foes. Penny is the perfect balance of calm, cuddly, confidence, and independence. At seven years old, this sweet gal has experienced a lot, but she still enjoys roaming around outside and making new friends. Although she may be slow-going at times, Penny is still such a sweet pup. Penny loves to go on walks, and her leash manners are impeccable. She doesn’t seem to know any basic commands, but she’s a pro at “hounding,” taking her time to stop and sniff out every new scent she encounters—there’s always something exciting to discover in her eyes (and nose)! And, of course, like a true hound, she hasn’t met a treat she didn’t like. If you’re looking for an older laid-back gal with a calming presence who’ll be a loyal and loving companion, pretty Penny just might be the perfect match for you!

**SENIOR** Huck is an older gentleman who despite his age, is spry and strong. He loves to walk and sniff and he is very intereted in his surroundings. He is easy going and adaptable, always in a happy mood - especially when he gets to go for a sniffy walk. Huck is a sweetheart and a good soul who was one of the shelters favorites. A good boy who loves to please, Huck will make a great companion for an individual or a family. He loves to romp around a yard or walk on leash, and afterward, he loves to relax and nap in comfort in his crate, on the floor, or on a sofa.  Huck loves belly rubs and ear scratches, he is a dog who wants to connect with people, and he is an older guy who will appreciate the comforts of a warm home and a soft touch. Will you be the person who gives that gift to this deserving guy!? ##2338378##

Story
Alvin wants you to know that his name is British and means 'noble friend'! And that is a very appropriate name for him for he is friendly to everyone he meets. He is a small and quiet hound (very little barking in the kennel) who likes the company of people. He likes other dogs too! He is not in a foster home yet but he is very clean in his kennel so we think he may be housetrained. If you are interested in Alvin please let us know. Thank you for your interest in Alvin! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=18397 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Alvin, or to submit an online application. Story
Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, kids House trained: Yes Energy level: Low Noise level: Barks occasionally My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Luke is how sweet and silly he is! Likes: short walks, hanging out at home Hi, Im Luke! Ive been through some hard times, and because of that Im still learning that I can trust humans. Im making progress every day though, and I cant wait to find my forever family! My foster likes to say that Im not scared, Im just cautious! Im a brave pup, just careful! I do need some time to warm up when I meet new people or dogs. I like to sniff, but get nervous if someone tries to pet me suddenly. Once I feel safe, I love to play with people and other dogs! My special favorite toy is my bouncy ball! I particularly enjoy playing "lose the ball under the couch and look pathetic until someone gets it for me" Do you think we could play it together sometime?? I have a doggy foster sibling, and we get along great too! My current favorite activities are sniffing and sleeping! Im a champion snoozer, and Im great at finding a good spot to curl up in the sun. Im also a curious guy, and really enjoy long, meandering walks where I can sniff to my heart's content. At the end of a long day, my favorite place to be is cuddled up in my fosters bed. Im cool with my crate, but once I heard the bed was an option, I never looked back! Im looking for a calm, gentle family who can appreciate that Ill need some patience and time to warm up and get comfortable. I promise Ill be the best buddy if we can just take it slow at first! Im a pretty quiet guy, so Id do well as an apartment dog. Id also be happy to with a doggy sibling as part of my new pack! So, if youre looking for a laid back little buddy, look no further than Luke! Story
This precious purebred Beagle girl just turned 10 years old and for the last 9 years this girl was a girl who was used as a taste tester dog for a dog food manufacturer.  In October of 2023 this girl was adopted with the great hopes of giving her the many last years of her life a new life with a family who could provide that special home she never has had.  For 15 months all was going well for her.  A quiet girl that weighs 22 pounds and is very petite for a Beagle, she learned how to be loved and give love right back.  She lived with another dog and went to work some days with her mom.  Coffee Bean was all set until a new baby entered the home and then her world changed.  She shut down and retreated and hid from her human mom and dad there in the home.  It was apparent that this girl was sadly not comfortable with a baby in the house.  This loving couple can see that Coffee Bean needs to find a different home soon so that she can readjust and find peace and quiet.  She is so very affectionate and sweet and we think that CB would be the delightful companion for a retired couple or woman who lives alone and wants to have Coffee Bean as her new best friend!  She does well with male dogs, but with female dogs she will have issues if they are bigger than her (smaller breeds are fine). She lived in a kennel for 9 years and so she was not required to be PERFECT in life.  She's done well to tolerate the cat and should be fine with another cat if required.  We envision a home where someone is home a lot or can take this girl with them places.  She craves the companionship and will not do well being home alone for long hours while someone is away at work.  A  retired family where she could be a couch potato and a nice yard for her to do her beagle running and sniffing would be fabulous.  She is not a frequent barker, just the usual alerts when someone is at the door or a squirrel has entered the yard uninvited.  She just loves everybody and wants nothing but pets and cuddles!  This lovely girl is gentle and very soft in her personality with people. She is not demanding and loud and just wants a more peaceful life during her senior years.  We project another good five years or more are in her future.  Want to invite this girl into your world?  Just email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  She is ready NOW! PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 27, 2025, 11:33 pm

Story
Nash is one of those perfect family size pups that will fit in perfectly for any family with an active lifestyle, maybe a few young children that love to run and play and then snuggle while watching some special TV programs.  He was born around October 1st and he and his 3 siblings came to Critter Cavalry Rescue from a not so good environment and outdoor pen that was too small.  His personality is one of curiosity and excitement to learn new things and play with new people.   He is loving being inside a great foster home where he can sit on the sofa, play in a specious backyard with two fun girls over 10 years of age and then hang out with the older Beagle girls that belong to the foster family.  These puppies are always smiling and just happy to be getting the love and care that Critter Cavalry Rescue fosters promise to give. He is 25 pounds at 6 months and he is learning about potty training and crate training and how to be a little puppy gentleman while being part of the inside family activities.  He is not a runner but a fenced yard could be so safe and beneficial.  He needs training on the leash and could be so much fun to take on family hikes, or personal walks for the enjoyment of exercise and the ritual of exploring the great outdoors.  A fun event that showed just how adaptable Nash can be was when he attended a YMCA Puppy Yoga class and what fun it was.  He wandered amongst the Yoga participants saying hello and then discovering himself in the floor to ceiling mirrors that were all over the room.  He was fascinated with seeing himself. These were the most people he had been around in his life at one time!  He passed with flying colors and loved every minute as the hour came to a close and it was time to go home. He and his siblings did so well and they were so cute!!!  Sweet Nash has dreams in life and they are simple.  All he wants is to love his own people and to be loved in return.  A lifetime of promises await this little guy who will one day be a 35 pound adult that will be a treasure in your diary of the life and love of a dog.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let us know where you live:  city and state.  We are in Tennessee and adopt locally and also transport to the Northeastern corridor of states and meet the adopting families.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 25, 2025, 12:42 pm
