You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- HARRY IS LISTED AS A COURTESY TO ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.ASK NOT WHAT THIS HOUND CAN DO FOR YOU,BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THIS HOUND.Harry Neil is a 10 year old walker hound who recently came to us when he no longer wanted to hunt. Having lived life on a chain, Harry Neil is now enjoying romping in a fenced yard, interacting with other dogs in his foster home and soaking up all the attention. Harry is kind and quiet and surpisingly petite! The mass on his face is a damaged salivary gland. Nothing can be done for it but it does not hurt or bother him. Henry is looking for a compassionate family who understands that he missed out on a lot of things while pursing a career in hunting. He will need extra support with house training and basic manners. Henry Neil deserves a comfy home with a wonderful family to enjoy the rest of his life! He'll pay you in kindness and gratitude.(We do not recommend hunting hounds for homes with cats.)A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Harry Neil, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Female, 6 years old, 53 lbs Personality: Outgoing, affectionate, playful, gentle, snuggler, and energetic. Say hello to Eleanor, a caring hound mama with a loving and playful spirit! Eleanor is a top-tier cuddler who will gladly curl up beside you for some quality snuggle time. She’s also a big fan of toys and romping around with other dogs her size. Eleanor is crate-trained, though she’s still perfecting her house training and learning words like “sit.” Eleanor’s cheerful personality shines bright during walks and she'll gently slow down when the leash tightens. She greets everyone—dogs and humans alike—with a wagging tail and plenty of friendly charm. While Eleanor and cats may not be the best of friends, she does very well with smaller dogs and loves burning off energy in the yard or park. Her playful mornings mixed with relaxed afternoons make her a wonderful balance of energetic and mellow. Eleanor's ready to bring endless joy to a family willing to give her the care she deserves. Apply today to meet Eleanor! _______________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Visit her site for more info: https://tinyurl.com/RehomeMabel Mabel is a 2 year old treeing walker coonhound/retriever currently weighing 56 pounds. She is house broken, spayed, and up to date with all shots. She is a happy, energetic dog who loves every person she meets but does not get along with other dogs. She is crate trained but nowadays we give her the freedom of the house. Mabel is a smart pup who is easily motivated by food or attention. She can sit, shake and will patiently leave a treat until told to take it. Mabel likes to run and play but also enjoys snuggling with her people and is quite affectionate! Mabel needs to be in an only dog household. She doesn't like to share and will "guard" her resources when around other dogs. Importantly, we have never seen any aggressive behavior toward people.

Story
Willa and Watson (siblings) came from the Brookhaven pound. We saw them on Face Book. The Brookhaven pound was going to put these puppies down because they were so shy. They couldn’t find a rescue group to take them. We decided to help them. They are super sweet, but they are very shy. Walter is not as shy as Willa. They feel very comfortable in their environment, but when taken to the vet, they do get nervous. They do respond to love, but they need somebody that will spend time with them. Because we are so overcrowded, they have never had an opportunity to live in the house. They were heavily bonded at the foster’s house, and they loved to play together. The foster did not spend any time with them, but the children played with them some in the fenced in area. They play well with other dogs, but they have never been around cats. Since they have been at Blue Ribbon Kennels, they have been in separate kennels for the past 13 months. They both need a special home with somebody that will spend a lot of time loving them, giving them a lot of attention and being patient with them. Plese help Willa, and maybe even consider adopting both of them! Willa and Watson are in Mississippi. Rescue Riders is a very reliable pet transport and will transport Willa to her new home. This is included in the adoption fee

These pups are in Baltimore, Maryland too!

CURLY Breed: beagle Age: 11 weeks Weight: 10 pounds Adoption Fee: $375 Vetting Status: neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed and maintained on heartworm preventatives ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ April showers bring... Three Stooges? Larry, Curly & Moe are a pint sized trio of beagle-tude, each ready to bring laughs as a solo act. The Stooges are 11 weeks old, crate trained, & working on their potty skills. They are super sweet, sassy, & smart. Larry is the brainy one. Curly the super social, kissy, big guy. Moe is the adorable, quiet wallflower... so somewhat the reverse of his more famous namesake. They will be ready for new homes in late April. We encourage you to submit an adoption application ASAP if interested, as we expect them to be adopted quickly!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CURLY is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!
