Story
I took in Goldie last September, when she was found, apparently dumped near a dog park. She had no license, no microchip, and no one responded to multiple social media posts about finding her. She was already potty trained and doggy-door aware and is comfortable in a crate/kennel in the house. She is one of the most affectionate dogs I've ever known. She plays well with other dogs, once she gets to know them, and is not all destructive. Unfortunately, she's just not a good fit for my lifestyle. Being retired, I like to travel, and take my dog(s) with me, but she would rather stay home by herself than go for a ride. She settles down in the car and rides quietly, but she just is not happy to travel. She would make a great stay-at-home pet. She's not terribly fond of small children, and challenges anyone who shows fear or is unsure of dogs. All of her vaccinations are current, and I'm willing to share the cost of spaying her with her new family.

Story
Tule found us about 5 months ago. She was either abandoned or she ran away from home. We took her to the vet and she didn’t have a chip or an owner that we could find so we took her home. She is around a year old, 35 pounds (full grown) and is a German Shepherd mixed with more breeds unknown to us. Tule is a funny, smart, and playful dog. Although we love her, we can’t provide the type of life she deserves. She has done well on leash, learned basic commands and is potty trained, so we know with good training she will be a loyal companion for her next owner. Tule loves to run, so she needs a family that is very active. She is not meant to be an indoor dog or live in an apartment complex. She needs a purpose and an owner with the ability to give her one. We are willing to wave the adoption fee for the right people.

Story
Macy is a very sweet, gentle, and loyal girl, all around wonderful dog who really deserves a loving forever home. She loves just hanging out with her human(s), rolling in the grass outside, and learning new skills. She walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and her personality is very calm, easy-to-train (food-motivated), and affectionate. She's an excellent adventure buddy, and she's perfect for taking to new or public places. She's a bit smaller of German Shepherds at 49 lbs. Currently fostering Macy, but unable to continue her care due to housing/space limitations. As a last resort, I will have to return her to the shelter. I currently live in an apartment, and Macy has shown that she is happiest with some fenced outdoor space for her to be her playful self. She is not currently spayed but has her spay appointment on 4/18 at Bradshaw Animal Shelter, and the cost is included in her adoption fee, which I will cover ($50). I can also care for her during her post-surgery recovery.

Story
Carlisle is in desperate need of a foster or adopter ASAP! Miracle dog and Stanislaus Survivor Carlisle is ready to be adopted. Carlisle sat in the shelter for over 2 weeks with no one willing to help him because his injury was pretty severe and expensive to fix. He fractured his L7 vertebrae. We think he is about 2 years old. We found the most skilled Neurosurgeon at VCA Referral Center and found a medical donor willing to take a chance on the surgery. There was no guarantee it would work, but Carlisle had such a will to live, we knew had to try. The Surgeon did not give up either and he decided to make it happen. So we pulled the boy and off he went to VCA for a $12,000 plus surgery. Carlisle has made a full and complete recovery! It is a true miracle. He has been in two foster homes and his current foster home can only keep him until the end of May. He should be an only dog for now. He is still intact, but his neuter will be done while in foster care, if adopted ( foster to adopt) or as soon as we can get him in for the surgery. Carlisle is great with kids and people. He is good on leash. He is not the best with other animals, seems to have a prey drive, so no small dogs or cats or farm animals. Female dogs his size or larger should be fine, but we will demand slow intros. He is so deserving of a home and we need a foster or an adopter for him ASAP! Interested in meeting Carlisle? Story
Meet Art, a dog whose spirit is as vibrant as her name suggests. Art’s favorite thing to do is play, however, she is far too possessive of tennis balls, so we recommend future owners discover other items of enrichment for her. She has a strong drive with toys, so dog sports could potentially be a good outlet for her energy. True to her breed, she is incredibly smart and curious about new things. She is the perfect companion for those seeking an energetic friend to accompany them on their adventures. Occasionally she may forget her manners and say hello with a jump or not want to share her favorite toy, so any children in her new home are required to be 10 or older. However, Art does have a gentle side as well. She loves cuddles and affection from people. Once she looks at you with her soft brown eyes, you will want nothing more than to pet her as long as possible. While Art loves people, she isn’t as fond of canine companions. She doesn’t think they are fun to be around, so she is required to go to a single dog home and not visit dog parks. Come down to the Placer SPCA, and add some Art to your life. Story
Zoey is a sweet and playful one-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of energy and love! Adopted through a German Shepherd rescue, she’s blossomed into an affectionate, loyal companion. Zoey loves nothing more than going for runs, whether it’s a jog around the block or a trip to the park. Playtime is her favorite, and she’s especially fond of tug-of-war, always ready for a fun challenge. This sweet girl has grown up around small children and is incredibly gentle and playful with them, making her the perfect family companion. Zoey’s big, bright eyes and wagging tail show just how much joy she brings to everyone around her. Whether she’s running, playing, or snuggling up after a busy day, Zoey’s sweet nature makes her a beloved part of the family.
