Story
We made one profile so we could stay together and stay best friends! Isha and Hans are two good looking and good hearted dogs, who love to be connected to people. Isha, 50lbs, almost 4yrs old, half Belgian Malinois half a mix of various shepherds based on test. She's a super smart and athletic dog with some training and would be happy to learn more. Hans, 90lbs sable shepherd with AKC lineage, almost 3yrs old and a bundle of goofy fun. He has basic training, loves to be active and chase Isha but is also very content to stay by your side and smile the day away. They would thrive in a home with land or at least a big fenced in yard to run in, and plenty of shade during the hot summers. They are comfortable staying outside all day but are house trained, and sleep inside, not on beds or couches. They are crate trained, neutered + fixed, and ready for you! Ideally you are in Santa Cruz county or close by, as I'd be happy to dog sit for you when you're away on vacation.

Story
Meet Rocky! This handsome GSD mix came into the Shelter with another dog (who has since been adopted). Prior to Shelter life, Rocky hadn`t experienced much outside of his home. Understandably, arriving at the Shelter was a bit of a shock to the system. After some time and patience with staff and volunteers - Rocky began to show his true colors and was a goofy, playful boy. You can see him going on walks with volunteers or playing with other adoptable dogs at the Shelter. A home with a confident canine companion may be a fit but any potential suitors should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. Rocky has lived in a home with children infant age to teenagers. A home with kids may be a fit. We do not have any history of Rocky in a home with cats or small animals.

Story
Miller was quite nervous when he was surrendered to us, so we gave him a few days to settle in. Since then, we`ve learned he enjoys affection with people, is easy to leash and walks well, enjoys pets all over, and loves to give kisses. He did well on a hike with some volunteers, where he checked in frequently on his hike, rode well in a car, and was respectful of others on the trail. Miller plays well with other dogs, as observed here in the shelter. Any resident dogs must meet prior to adoption. Miller was previously an outdoor only dog.He went home with a foster family and did great! He is almost completely house trained, did great with the resident dogs and cat, was good with strangers and was a fantastic houseguest! Once he has gotten used to his new life, positive reinforcement training would be super beneficial to him. Will help boost his confidence in new environments, and help form a bond with his family. He`s as handsome as ever, with jet-black fur and bold, brown eyes.

Story
Princessa is an older German Shepherd who may have some minor vision impairment. She`s been social and amiable since she arrived, kenneling well, and seems housetrained. She does well on leash and is attentive, polite, very agile for her age, and does have a spring in her step when out and allowed to engage with people and other dogs. She is curious with others, but does give them space. Princessa has been a very easy companion to her handlers and strangers, but she`ll need conservative management, especially when first adopted, until she forms a strong bond with her new people - she`s worked a little to get out of yards or enclosures she`s not used to, possibly trying to make her way back to her previous home. :( Sad, but not too uncommon, and we strongly recommend conservative management to EVERY dog when they head to a new home! She`s lived with a male dog previously and could likely thrive in the company of another. Princessa does not have any known history with children, and is best for a home without cats.

Story
Meet Luna! This Shepherd mix came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after her previous guardian was unable to continue caring for her. Here is what we know about her: -Lived with kids ages 4, 12, and 14-House-trained-Crate-trained-Knows “sit”, “down”, “paw”, “lay down” and “spin”Prior to coming to the Shelter, Luna did not have much history with dogs. Since being at the Shelter, staff have introduced her to a handful of dogs. She was curious but unsure. A home with a well-socialized adult dog may be a fit but they should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. Interested in meeting? Come down to the Shelter today!
