MEET GRACE & KATIE, two beautiful, sweet & bonded black German Shepherds! Both of these lovely girls were rescued from a crowded California shelter, and they are very bonded. They have been waiting over a year for a home together. Grace & Katie are good with other dogs and lovely with people. Grace, the mama dog, is about 5-6 years old, and Katie is a 2-year-old girl now and growing up! Both girls have also done fairly well around cats but would need to be monitored. Katie weighs about 60-65 lbs, and Grace weighs about 71-75 lbs. They've waited a long time for a home because we are trying to place them together, so if you can open your home to two dogs, please email for an application. They also need a foster! MEET SCOUT! Scout is a handsome 3-year-old German Shepherd mix in need of a foster or forever home. He was rescued from an overcrowded California shelter, where he was kenneled with another dog and did great. He especially seems to like females, and did well on a few meet-ups. Scout loves human attention and affection, and loves food! He would do great with an active person or people who can take him for walks, hikes or other outings. He weighs about 64 lbs.. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Scout, please email for an application. He's waited awhile for a home and deserves a home in the new year!

Story
Meet Rio, the Shep-sky (Shepherd x Husky) puppy! Rio is an engaging, playful puppy who is looking to bring fun to his next home. His favorite activities are playing with toys and sniffing on walks. He is a smart cookie and knows “sit”, “down”, “shake”, “turn” and “stand”. Rio would love to continue learning and bonding with his next family through positive reinforcement based training. Our veterinary team has observed that Rio bunny hops when he runs - meaning that he jumps with both back legs at the same time instead of placing each back leg separately. As an extra precaution, we performed an orthopedic examination under sedation and did not find any abnormalities. He is playful, active, and engages in all of the typical activities puppies enjoy. As he is young, his body will continue to develop and change as he grows. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

MEET LILLI - a sweet and gentle, 10-year-old German Shepherd in need a forever home! This girl keeps getting overlooked due to no fault of her own. Awhile back she was rescued from a crowded California shelter, where she was kenneled with other dogs. She also loves people and will help you watch TV, go for walks or do your gardening! She loves being outdoors and so a nice yard would be a plus. Lilli is not good with chickens, but we are not sure how she is with cats. She weighs about 68 lbs. Lilli is currently in a foster home, which she shares with another dog. Please email for an application.

I am a sweet 11-month-old White German Shepherd - only 42 lbs currently but growing - and I am ready to start my life with people whom I love! I currently need a foster or forever home. Please email for an application. We have reduced our adoption fees through April 15.
