Story
Greetings, mortals! I am Aries, a majestic male dog with a powerful spirit that rivals the might of the gods themselves. My lineage is a fusion of strength and courage, much like the mythical Greek warriors of old. As a German Shepherd mix, I bear the mantle of both protector and loyal companion, ready to embark on epic adventures by your side. Behold, my most distinctive feature: my big, floppy ears that listen keenly to the whispers of the wind and the secrets of the world around me. They stand as a testament to my unwavering vigilance, always attuned to the slightest rustle or sign of danger. Like the fiery ram that represents my namesake constellation, I possess boundless energy and a fiery spirit. With every step I take, I channel the might of the heavens, exuding the strength and grace befitting of a true Greek hero. My paws tread the earth with purpose, and my heart beats with the fervor of an ancient battle cry. But fear not, for beneath my divine exterior lies a heart overflowing with affection. I am not just a warrior; I am a loyal and loving companion. Together, we shall conquer every challenge and forge an unbreakable bond that even the gods would envy. So, dear mortal, if you seek a canine ally who embodies the essence of a Greek legend, look no further. I, Aries, the German Shepherd mix with big floppy ears, am here to join you on a quest of a lifetime. Let us create a mythic tale of companionship and courage that will be sung by bards for generations to come. Poor Bella was seen being dumped by her owner on a commercial street where big rigs constantly are passing through. It took a few days for us to build her trust to bring her to safety in our yard. Full of ticks and fleas we were able to clean her and give her love and attention which by the looks of it she never had love since she had the collar marks embedded into her fur where she had been tied up :( Bella loves toys and gets the zoomies when excited. She loves to run so preferably go to someone with a big yard or an active person. She is always high alert so she is always taking care of the house. She is very loyal to her person and shows how grateful she is to her foster family. She has her own personality and just wants love attention and she is ready to be spoiled by her forever family. * she will need a 6 foot fence * she does get along with dogs but gets jealous about her person *no cats *loves to Play in kiddie pool *walks on leash ok but still learning not to pull Bella Marie deserves a real home and will be your most loyal buddy ever!!! Love me back and that is a recipe for an AMAZING LIFE!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Calista is a beautiful, crazy, playful, rambunctious 2 year old German Shepherd. Found out in the woods in Rio Grande Valley with her mom and sister fending for themselves and trying to survive the coyotes. She was very skittish when she arrived at the rescue, and at times can still be, but she has come a long way. She gets excited and does a crazy spin in her excitement. She loves playing with other dogs, loves treats and playing with her foster siblings. She really needs a patient person who knows the breed and is willing to work with her and have the dedication to wait until she shows her very silly side :) Her foster mom has learned her secret- treats and smelling like hot dogs/ peanut butter helps! Calista loves other dogs and gets along great with her foster homes pack. She is playful and energetic with them. Sometimes maybe too energetic as she can be an escape artist and find even the smallest of holes in the fence to see if she can fit and make a b-line to the neighbors house! Calista will need to stay local to Texas for the time being. Each day she is gaining confidence and understanding and realizing that people are not all mean and that there ares some out there that really do love dogs and want nothing but goodness for them. If you think you are ready to give Calista love, attention and help her build trust and confidence in herself and you then please apply! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX only)

We are pretty babies, loving and happy and safe pups on the way to finding real, responsible, happy, loving families - like yours! Cole's in the house! And he's ready to be adopted! This cute, chunky boy does well with others and is super laid back! He loves to have his back scratched! Cole is a bit shy and will need a loving and accepting family to coax him out of his shell. He and his siblings came from the streets as pups and he has had the hardest time becoming more social and comfortable with new people. But he HAS made significant strides!! Cole has some hip issues and has had one surgery to help his hip feel better. He has recovered and is feeling better and better :) Some basic information about Cole; he is a male, Shepherd/Husky mix, and is expected to be medium-sized (20-59lbs). He is waiting for you at the gate! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Hello my name is Buffy, I'm from Minnesota! Buffy is incredibly sweet. She's very shy and new noises are still a little scary, but she's being so brave! As she becomes more comfortable we're really getting to see her sweet and silly personality. The love of her life is any tennis ball. Other toys are fine, but she lights up for a tennis ball. Watching her zoom around the backyard has been such a joy. She also loves to go for a walk. She does pull a bit but is very responsive to verbal corrections. She loves playing with the resident dog and has a healthy respect/fear of the resident cat. Once she warms up to you, you're sure to fall in love. She truly is such a perfect lady. Buffy really came out of her shell once she and the residential dog were able to meet. I don't think it would be necessary for her to go to a home with another dog but it may make the transition easier. She has not met any young children yet. She's very sensitive to sudden movements so a home with young kids may not be the best fit. She needs a gentle hand to show her the world isn't so scary.

Story
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by an anonymous donor. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $500.00 will be applied during the contract process. Hello my name is Burdock, I'm from Minnesota! From his foster: Burdock is a GSD mix (how much is up for debate) rez dog who has managed to overcome quite a difficult start to life and is well on his way to becoming a happy, fun-loving, and well-trained pooch. He was neutered while in foster care and recovered with no issues. He's fully house trained in that he will persistently come to you and ask to go out by looking at you, then whining and pacing as long as he can. He's been good enough to wake me up while sleeping rather than make a mess in the house. In addition, he's crate trained but tends to take better to it when people are out of the house. That lets him focus his mind on his chew toys instead of wanting to hang around and play with all the humans. I suspect he'd be alright sleeping in his crate as long as it was quiet and he didn't think action was going on without him. The protective guard dog instinct in him means he's compelled to investigate noise and I'd go so far as to call him a light sleeper because he likes to move around somewhat and grab a drink of water once or twice a night. Big Burd certainly would like a backyard with a fence at least six feet tall or someplace else where he'll be secure to run around off his leash. A daily walk or two is also in his best interests, and to that end he's learning to use a gentle lead which has helped calm him down to a large degree. He still requires a bribe/treat or two to put it on, but he doesn't fuss about it (same goes for his dog boots during the winter). Burdo loves his Kong toy, especially when it's full of peanut butter, thinks that No-Hide chews are ambrosia, and totally believes string cheese is caviar. They, along with an assorted selection of other treats, are useful distractions when he gets excessively playful with his puppy gnawing. He's got a moderate level of energy and I expect him to mellow out a bit as he gets older. Being a working breed, he considers his job to be keeping your yard free of pesky rabbits and squirrels, as well as knowing what's going on inside and outside his domicile in general. True to his name, Burdock is something of a velcro dog who will want to follow you from room to room mainly to extract his salary in the form of belly rubs, ear scratches, head pats, and treats. He won't demand you obsess over him constantly and is very content to curl up in the background in his bed, crate, or any place soft and comfy he's allowed to nap or nibble on a toy. That said, he does want to be the center of attention a few times a day. If neglected, he'll temporarily pretend he's a toy breed and sprawl out across your lap to make that point. He knows a handful of commands including: sit, down, stay (as in "stay put"), stop (as in "stop doing that"), and leave it. His current area of study is loose-leash walking which is meant to counter his natural tendency to pull towards or jump at things. One could say the Burd has both healthy prey and play drives. At this moment, Burds demands he be the only animal in the house, though his foster and trainer are working on his socialization skills with other canines.

Story
Mazie is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. She does best with routines and tends to pickup habits quickly. She is a big cuddler and loves to be close to people. She has been living with two other dogs and does great with other animals. She loves to play ball and would thrive best in an active home where someone could be with her a majority of the day. She is potty trained, spayed and up to date on all of her vaccinations. She was previously rescued by a police officer who found her on the streets. It was believed that she was previously in a loving home because she was found well nourished and trained. I adopted Mazie from the Animal Humane Society this past spring and she has been living in a home with a large yard the past few months. Mazie would love a fenced in backyard but this is not required. She would do best with an active family that will give her the exercise and stimulation she needs. I would love to answer any further questions you may have!

Story
Who has four paws, the softest fur, the sweetest soul and loves to cozy up with her people?! Why it’s me, Stella Jane! My favorite things in the world are spending time on the couch with my foster mom and dad, playing with my foster dog siblings, and hoarding my toys and bones on my spot on the couch. If your idea of fun is to hang out on the couch and binge watch Netflix or catch a nice long sports game, then I am your girl! I am a nervous girl, I don’t really care to be outside on my leash or around people I don’t know. You see, the world used to be a very scary place for me. But now that I am in Minnesota with my foster mom and dad, I am learning that I don’t have to be scared! It is taking me a while but my foster mom always ensures me I will never not have a cozy couch to relax on ever again! My future family will need to be patient as it takes me a while to get used to strangers. I also would love to find a home with a dog companion to show me the world isn't so scary! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Hi, I'm Ryder. I love it when people give me praise and affection - see how my ears respond?! I'm very sweet, gentle, playful, and curious. I'm a little cautious and jumpy with quick movement and loud noises. I really don't like the crate and feel most comfortable sleeping in a cozy dog bed. In fact, I'm already sleeping through the night! My favorite place to nap in the dog bed is in a room where people are, that feels comforting to me. I'm already house trained at 8 months - I'm really smart and eager to learn more! I cant wait to show you just how sweet I am! Lets meet soon! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Story
Meet Ranger, the intelligent and active Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and boundless energy. This handsome boy is a fast learner and has mastered essential commands like sit, down, wait, and shake. He's so clever that he tackled a level 3 puzzle on his first try! Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. If you're looking for a smart, active, and affectionate companion, Ranger is the perfect match. Give him the love and care he deserves, and he'll reward you with loyalty and companionship like no other.
