Story
(DOB 08/01/2023) Berkley is growing up into a very handsome young adult. He is definitely filling out into a beautiful GSD-mix. His coat is shiny and silky soft. He has a beautiful smile and perky ears. Berkely is ready to love and be loved!  This youngester is looking for an active family with daily walks and play time. Berkeley is a sweet boy, and is just looking for the right family to take him home and love him fur-ever!! He is loveable and a little on the submissive side. He shares his toys nicely and loves to play. He would love a fenced yard to run around and romp in but it is not a requirment. He loves to play catch with a tennis ball and strut around a bit with it in his mouth. Berkley would love daily walks day and getting out to see and do new things, meet new people, and have new experiences.   He loves being with his people so make sure have you plenty of time to spend with him daily! A home with older children would be best due to his size. His foster 2-legged brother is awesome and has already taught Berkley basic commands. Berkley is highly motivated by food or treats which is awesome! We don't think a home with cats is a perfect fit; however, he is good with chickens at his foster family's house. He is also house and crate trained. As part of Berkley’s $325 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy,you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Berkely, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1887422##

Story
We have had shepherds for 50+ years. Along w Sage, we have 3 other older shepherds. They are 11, 7 and 3. All well trained by us and behave amazingly. We got Sage as our oldest dog was getting on in years. Sage is a very smart, inquisitive dog. She's into exploring everything. She want to please you when you are one on one w her. Treats are not her thing. Positive reinforcement and petting makes her day. She might take a treat today but tomorrow she won't even lift her head for it. She does better one on one. She loves playing w the other dogs but when they are together, play is the only thing she knows. She becomes the Alpha, at 10 months, and they go happily along. Alone, she knows her boundries and what she should be doing but w the pack, she gives the orders and they follow. She has shown no aggression, lays at your feet in the house. I just think she deserves more time and more attention than I can give her in my current situation. She loves water & swimming =
