Story
I'M SCOUT! I'm a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix in need of a foster or forever home. I've been waiting for many months for someone to choose me! I weigh about 64 lbs. and am a handsome boy. I was rescued from a shelter, where I was kenneled with another dog and did great! However, I would likely do best with a submissive dog, possibly a female. I love being petted and I love, love, love food. I would do well with an active person or people who go for walks, hikes and other outings. Can you foster or adopt me? Please email for an application.

Story
This terribly cute clown-tongued puppy, Chester, is a parvo survivor and is making the most out of his new lease on life! While he's colored like a German Shepherd, his broad face is more Beagle/Lab-ish, so who knows the breed mix. He is only 6 month old.Chester is great with our dog and our cat, and we suspect he would also be kid-friendly. He's a little timid at first, but loves affection, toys, sprinting, wrestling, and most of all FOOD. Such food motivation is helpful for training, which he needs, and he is learning directions on potty and jumping as well as building on his basic training that started at the shelter. He's neutered and ready to walk in your door and capture your heart. He needs a securely fenced yard so no Apartment life for Chester. If you want to meet him, Fill out the application on our website - OFOSA.ORG and his foster mom will be in touch

Story
Rue is about 9-10 months old sweet girl. She came to our family when my son moved back in. Due to some health issues in our family we haven't been able to give her the time she really needs as a puppy. I do have experience with German Shepherds and do have one that she hangs out with. We live on property so she is use to running around and has good recall. She really needs space and someone to put more training and go on outings with her. She makes great eye contact and should be a easy train. She gets attached pretty easily and is soooo loving. She gets along with our Frenchie and 8 year old German Shepherd. She has done good with our cat as well, might just take a minute to warm up and learn her boundaries with one. She has grown up with a toddler and is very gentle. Like any puppy she need extra training and correction at times. She loves to fetch a ball or play with Frisbees. I will be every picky on her new home. not crate trained and will not do well in one.

Moose is just a big, sweet hunk of love. This sweet boy is goofy and loves to play. He loves him s squeaky toys and likes to throw them in the air. He loves people and is great with other dogs. Moose is really excelling with his doggie manners. He knows sit, walks on a leash, rides good on the car, is crate trained and mostly house broke. He was rescued along with his mom and siblings from a high kill shelter in Southern California.

Story
This is Baker. He was abandoned at a church. The reason he is named Baker is because he would only come to us when enticed with pieces of cupcake. Even though he was scared, he couldn't resist licking the icing gently off his finders fingers. They thought about calling him Cupcake, but he said no. He is great with other dogs and is just getting comfortable enough to play. Despite his rough start, he is the sweetest boy. He would do best in a home with a family that will be patient with him while he learns to dog. *** Baker is currently fostered in CA. Transport can be arranged. ****

Story
Griffin had a rough start but since he's been with us for the last 7 months, he has made great strides and we think he is wonderful. Griffin needs an owner with experience in training or handling the working drives that are strongly present in Griffin. He has extensive obedience training. He is house trained, crate & kennel trained. He swims & travels well. Easy to keep and manage. He was raised with  children, but his strong work drives make him too unpredictable to be safe around young children. He is definitely a guardian dog. He has spent multiple hours in many settings for socialization and obedience but does best in a fenced area and likes the structure of being in his place with consistent routines, boundaries and environment. Griffin will retrieve a ball endlessly so we have him do obedience with ball & food rewards. After training/working he gets a cooldown period with maybe a swim in the river. The water is his happy place. Griffin is healthy, and exceptionally beautiful. A great companion for someone who lives alone & wants an easily managed dog. Griffin has lived around cats successfully, but we advise that a very savvy cat and owner would be most ideal.
