Meet Ellie!Ellie is a bright, affectionate, and loyal pup with a heart full of love and a brain that’s always ready to learn. Born in August 2024, she was found abandoned in a ditch in East Texas at just six weeks old with her two littermates—malnourished, covered in fleas, and suffering from mange. Thanks to the care of her foster family, Ellie has made an incredible transformation and is now thriving in Fort Collins, CO.Ellie can be a little timid at first, especially around new people and kids, but she warms up quickly and bonds deeply with her people. Once she feels safe, her sweet and playful personality shines through—complete with the most adorable head tilt when she’s listening to you, as if she really understands.She does well with other dogs after slow, proper introductions, and a calm, confident playmate would be a huge benefit in helping her continue to learn, grow, and gain confidence. However, she’s not a fan of cats and would do best in a feline-free home.This girl is incredibly smart, eager to please, and highly trainable. She’s already fully potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and is doing great with her crate training. Ellie would thrive in a structured home with a family that understands shepherds and can provide consistent training, mental stimulation, and outlets for her energy—like hikes, puzzle toys, or play sessions in the yard.She’ll be your perfect hiking companion and your favorite snuggle buddy all in one. Read below for more information.All of our dogs are located in a foster home in Texas or Colorado. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Mutts N Such direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).Our out of state adoption fee is $350 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days.
