Hello friends! I’m Jenny—a 4-year-old Goldendoodle mix. I weigh about 30 pounds, which makes me the perfect size for cuddles (and I hope you’re ready, because I LOVE being pet). Seriously—once you start, I’ll melt right into you like butter. I’m super friendly and full of love. I’ve got a happy, sweet personality and I’m always ready to make your day brighter. Everyone who meets me says I’m so cute—and I have to admit, they’re not wrong! I’m looking for a forever home where I can be someone’s loyal sidekick and best friend. We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. This sweet and adorable guy is Mel and he's a 2 year old GoldenDoodle who is looking for his forever home. We rescued him from a family who lived in an apartment in Queens and could no longer take care of him. He's a very loving boy and we're looking for a quiet and mellow new home for him where he will get lots of love from his new family. He's a cuddle-bug who is living with a wonderful foster family on Long Island and their dog Charlie. They adore him and give him the love and calmness he craves. He gets alongs with other dogs and loves to go for walks and take nice long snoozes. He's loves walks on the beach but hasn't ventured into the water yet. He's a little shy when he first meets people but warms up quickly especially if you have a yummy treat. He loves everyone he meets and get along well with other dogs too. We think he'd do best in a home with a fenced in backyard where his family is home for big portions of the day. He could easily live as a solo dog because he just wants to be near his peeps and join them for adventures. He's an expert shopper at Home Depot! :) He's also super smart....he knows how to sit, go down, spin and stay. For those adopters who have never owned a Doodle, they're wonderful dogs that are hypoallergenic and don't shed! He's totally healthy and up to date on all his vaccinations. This handsome guy is about 2 years old and we're guessing a mini-Goldendoodle weighing around 18 pounds. Henry loves other dog companions and his person that he trusts. He eventually will warm up to strangers- it just takes him a little more time. He is a bit skiddish at first because of his past. Henry has come a long way in learning that people can be good. He spent time on the run until he was captured and sent to the pound. Being alone scared and cold without any creature comforts was a hard time for this sweet boy. He needs someone who is willing to be patient and kind with him. Once Henry bonds with you, he is completely adoring. He does like to show off his singing voice... and sing the song of his people. What we're learning about Henry is that he does have distrust of some men, and is fearful of children so we require a home without young children. We would highly prefer that Henry goes to a home with another dog to also help him feel confident. Since being sprung from the pound, Henry's personality is starting to shine through, and he's a playful and happy guy now that he knows he's safe. Henry is crate trained, housebroken, and walks beautifully on a leash. We’re working on his separation anxiety so that will take some patience and time with him. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with de-wormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 months or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess.
