Meet Sadie! Sadie is a 10-month-old Great Dane mix with a heart as big as her paws! At about 50 lbs (as of February), this sweet girl is crate trained, potty trained, and incredibly smart—she picks up on new things faster than you’d believe. Sadie has never met a dog she didn’t like and even gets along wonderfully with cats. She knows how to respect other pets’ boundaries, especially the older dog in her current home, while still being best buddies with the younger pup. She’s very affectionate and absolutely loves to cuddle—especially at bedtime! Once she’s had her snuggles, she puts herself to sleep in her kennel like the good girl she is. Sadie rides well in the car, naturally stays in the yard without needing a fence, and thrives in a home full of love and play. She’s playful, sweet, and has a goofy side—especially when she’s outside trying to steal the basketball from the kids. Sadie would make an incredible addition to any family looking for a loyal, loving companion. Ready to meet your new best friend? Sadie is waiting! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Story
Introducing the perfect pup for BIG dog lovers, Lincoln! Lincoln is a 5 month old, 40lb lab/great Dane mix that was saved from imminent euthanasia after being dumped out on the street by his “owners” 😢 but two of our fosters saw him and his brother and knew their lives were worth saving. We are so glad we did! Lincoln is big, snuggly, happy, and GOOFY. He is already almost fully potty trained, knows how to use a doggie door, gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home and is learning how to interact with kitty cats. Lincoln is social and takes corrections well, which is good, because he’s a big goof and doesn’t quite realize his size. He is working on his leash manners and managing his excitement when he sees other dogs while on leash, so he will need a patient human that will work with him! Lincoln loves everyone he meets, big or small, and wants to play play play! He currently lives with a crawling infant & he has learned quickly how to be gentle around him. This handsome big boy needs a family familiar with large dog breeds, ideally with a big yard and/or active family that can meet his exercise needs. After a good romp in the yard or long walk, he is the nap king and wants all the snuggles. Is Linc the big boy you’ve been looking for? He’s ready to meet his forever family! Story
Beaux is living it up in Connecticut with a wonderful foster and foster siblings.Beaux is a big, handsome boy who enjoys long walks (He was in the Christmas parade this past year). Beaux's previous owner found himself down on his luck, and both he and Beaux ended up in a bad place. Thanks to some really nice people, both got the help they needed. Beaux's owner was not able to take him back home, but Beaux found a great place to hang out while waiting for my forever home. Beaux is a medium-energy dog and is happy to go for a walk and then chill with his people. He likes playing with toys but also likes getting attention from people, chilling on the sofa, watching TV, and eating all the popcorn. Beaux loves people and other dog. Best to feed him separately as we were told he has some resource guarding with his food but so far at the Resort they have not seen this. This boy has been calm and just loves the attention of children, but we are saying older kids due to his size and activity level. And he passed his cat testing!!!Beaux is housetrained and also is crate-trained but is not the biggest fan of being in his crate. He is also leashed trained but still will pull sometimes. So as you can see a little proper training to fine tune the little things and you will have an amazing buddy. Beaux perfect home/family should be familiar with larger dogs. An active person or family would be great, but you do not need to be super active. Beaux's size might be a bit much for some, but once you get to know him, you will see his heart is as big as he is.Check them out playing with his canine foster sibling and passing his cat test very well:https://youtube.com/shorts/qhoRWrcFAow?si=GVGvLpes4pjBtn8ehttps://youtube.com/shorts/sUMnqvRlI1A?si=nosC-Z9j9TpVS-8mName: Beaux Local Breed: Crossbreed - something cute - maybe some Great Dane in there.Sex: MaleAge: 5 years 10 months (4/21/25 estimated)Weight: 72 lbs as of 4/21/25 Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm:  Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: Yes Really likes the bigger dogs more than small.Good with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $400.00Location of dog currently:  ConnecticutIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Charlee Litterer is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Charlee is a stunning brindle and white Dane mix with playful puppy energy! She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and doing great on leash—though she can be a bit enthusiastic and may pull. Charlee rides well in the car and loves making friends, both human and canine. She’d thrive in an active home that can keep up with her energy and continue her training. Story
This handsome hunk is a 1.5-year-old Bloodhound/Great Dane mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Weighing in at over 80 pounds, Scooby is a goofy, high-energy adventurer who’s always ready for his next big hike or backyard play session. Whether it’s a game of tug-of-war or chasing after a ball, this boy is all in. Scooby is house-trained, crate-trained, and incredibly smart—he’s eager to please and thrives with structure and stimulation. He plays well with other dogs who can match his playful, enthusiastic vibe, but he's a bit too interested in chasing cats to share a home with them. While he loves people and is a total cuddle bug with his favorites, he’d do best in a home without small children due to his size and energy level. If you’re an active person or family looking for a loyal adventure buddy who also doubles as a snuggle companion, Scooby might just be your perfect match. He’s looking for a home where he can be the center of attention, explore the world.

Meet Mochi – A Stunning Irish Wolfhound Shepherd Mix Ready for His Forever Home! Adoption Fee: $549 Adoption Application - Copy & Paste https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 Mochi is a breathtakingly beautiful 2-year-old Irish Wolfhound Shepherd mix with a heart full of potential. Rescued from a neglectful situation, this gentle giant is now searching for an adopter who can provide the patience, structure, and love he deserves. Mochi is house-trained and crate-trained, but he does experience some anxiety, which is why he needs a dog-savvy adopter—someone familiar with large, intelligent breeds who can guide him through training and help him build confidence. With the right leadership, Mochi will thrive. Because of his size, we recommend a home with children 10 and up, as he could unintentionally knock over little ones. Mochi would do best in an active home—whether it’s with an energetic couple or a family who loves outdoor adventures. The more exercise and engagement he gets, the happier he’ll be! Mochi currently weighs 68lbs. If you have experience with large breeds and are willing to invest time and love into this incredible dog, Mochi will reward you with unwavering loyalty and companionship. He’s truly worth the effort—are you the perfect match for him? Apply today to give Mochi the forever home he’s been waiting for!
