Story
This sweet dog is an owner surrender. The current family could not afford to keep him and found it difficult to feed him. We naturally offered to help but they were also having to move which new home would not allow dogs. Especially a big one! Opie is an easy dog, very sweet . He is a mix of lab and Dane. He is happy in nature and will be a great dog for any family. RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Please visit us on Facebook: Rebecca's Paws and Claws in Remlap and our website: www.rpacirescue.org. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the New England area and delivered in RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. To get a application please go to: saveapreciouspaw@gmail.com

Story
Beaux is a big, handsome boy who enjoys long walks (He was in the Christmas parade this past year). Beaux's previous owner found himself down on his luck, and both he and Beaux ended up in a bad place. Thanks to some really nice people, both got the help they needed. Beaux's owner was not able to take him back home, but Beaux found a great place to hang out while waiting for my forever home. Beaux is a medium-energy dog and is happy to go for a walk and then chill with his people. He likes playing with toys but also likes getting attention from people, chilling on the sofa, watching TV, and eating all the popcorn. Beaux loves people and other dog. Like a lot of dogs he does need to be fed separately due to food aggression if others dogs are around, but, don't let this make you overlook him. Feeding separately is very easy.He eats his main meal by himself in the evening and enjoys his solitary time alone with his food. This boy has been calm and just loves the attention of children, but we are saying older kids due to his size and activity level. And he passed his cat testing!!!Beaux is housetrained and also is crate-trained but is not the biggest fan of being in his crate. He is also leashed trained but still will pull sometimes. So as you can see a little proper training to fine tune the little things and you will have an amazing buddy. Beaux perfect home/family should be familiar with larger dogs. An active person or family would be great, but you do not need to be super active. Beaux's size might be a bit much for some, but once you get to know him, you will see his heart is as big as he is.Check them out playing with his canine foster sibling and passing his cat test very well:https://youtube.com/shorts/qhoRWrcFAow?si=GVGvLpes4pjBtn8ehttps://youtube.com/shorts/sUMnqvRlI1A?si=nosC-Z9j9TpVS-8mName: BeauxBreed: Great Dane MixSex: MaleAge: 5 years 7 months (1/19/25 estimated)Weight: 72 lbs Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm:  Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  MississippiIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
