Story
My dog Kai is a purebred Great Dane I bought from a breeder in Michigan. My mother bought her for me as a gift when I was young and now that my schedule is getting a lot busier I want to make sure that Kai is properly taken care of as she has lived a very pampered lifestyle and is a very sweet girl. She is currently at a residence with another dog but is able to be by herself Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at (xxx) xxx-xxxx for any pictures and detailed information. She is also AKC registered and has all the shots she needs.

Story
Elliot is a sweet boy who would love a foster home to relax in while he is recovering. Reason for Foster: Illness Exposure & URI Foster Time Frame: Quarantine Ends on 1/30Foster Care Plan: Elliot has had a potential exposure to distemper in the shelter, so we kindly ask that his foster monitors him closely for any signs of illness and promptly informs the foster team if symptoms arise. To ensure his health and the safety of other pets, he will need to be in a home with no other dogs and should remain home (avoiding walks and outings) during his foster stay. Elliot is also undergoing treatment for upper respiratory symptoms and will go to foster with medication. At your pickup appointment we will provide a thorough medical consultation, so you feel confident in caring for this adorable boy!

Story
Meet Kobe! A big brown ball of goofiness and playfulness. I first got Kobe when he was just a puppy from a purebred Great Dane breeder in Houston Texas. As of 2024 he is a 3 year old (now neutered) male and is looking for a new place and person to call home! I unfortunately have to part ways with this special boy due to time restraints and difficulties whilst I am still in college. I have had unforeseen financial issues arise and I cannot afford or have the time to keep my pretty boy any longer. I am looking for a home who has available time to take Kobe on his daily walks, give him enrichment, quality food, love him dearly and give him as much affection as possible, and give me updates on him. He is a very sweet boy who just wants to sit on your lap and go explore outside. I would describe Kobe as a gentle and very loving dog who may think he is a little puppy at times. He has absolutely never shown any aggressiveness to any animal or human in his entire life, he just wants love.

Story
Meet Astro, a sweet, energetic, and happy dog. Astro is a giant breed, a mix of Great Dane and Doberman, and he's a true gentle giant in most respects. However, due to his size and energy, Astro requires a family or individual who can provide him with the time, space, and attention he needs. Unfortunately, due to life changes, I am no longer able to meet his needs. I'm also away for long hours at a temporary job, and with an elderly dog in the household, Astro's rough play has become too much for my senior companion, which worries me that he could unintentionally hurt the older dog. Astro is a loving and playful companion, but he does have some food aggression, so he would do best in a home where that can be managed with care. He deserves a home where he can be the active, happy dog he is without the stress of too much restriction. If you’re looking for a big, loving dog with a lot of heart, Astro might be the perfect fit.

Story
Whitney is a beautiful designer dane who is a love bug. She has had some training and is house crate and leash trained. She has lived with several dogs of all sizes, horses and adult humans. She is respectful of the baby gate and loves to sunbathe with the other dogs. Whitney is very sweet and well mannered.. her mom was a dane and dad a great Pyrenees/ schnauzer mix. A true southern bell she hates the cold! Because Whitney has no idea of her size we are looking for a home without children and other medium/large dogs. Whitney is available for adoption in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex Visit danerescue.net to find out more info about our adoption process and complete the adoption application.

Story
Amos McCoy, an old name for an old man (think of the 1950`s/60`s TV program `The Real McCoys). Amos is the oldest dog we have inGDRNT care, not in longevity, but in age, he has been in GDRNT for over a year, but he is 11 years old. This guy came to GDRNT suffering from bad ear infections and some skin funk… we have been battling this with him and our veterinarian. He was sent to a specialist, who tested him and the results showed that he was allergic to most everything in the environment... And so he was started on allergy shots and different antibotics, but his ear infections did not get any better. Finally the Speciality Vet came up with an antibotic solution that was packed down in the ear canal. Took two rounds of packing the ears, and we started seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. As he started feeling better from the ear infections, we noticed that he was having trouble getting up after laying down, and we started him on some shots for his arthritis (the boy is almost bouncing now some times). There was also a suggestion that we change his kibble... which we have settled on a single protein (Salmon), gluten free, GMO free, low glycemic, no corn, soy, or wheat kibble. And he is doing SO-O-O much better. His ear infections are down to just some yeast, which we are dealing with with a high dose of probiotics. Like we said at the start of this, he is estimated to be 11 years old, which means that he came to GDRNT, potty trained, crate trained, with house manners, and pet friendly. And while he loves a nap, he does well with kids, big dogs, small dogs, and cats! Amos is available for adoption in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex.
