“Meet Jaxon! This 3 year old Great Pyrenees, is large, in charge, and ready to rule your roost/couch! Jaxon can organize a toy mess in under 30 seconds and he can return a ball to you even faster. His favorite activities are making sure his people and home are safe, picking up litter on walks so you can discard it (cares about his environment!), and babysitting tennis balls. What he lacks in small-ness he makes up for in the puppy playfulness. He’s crate-trained, good on a leash with harness, and mostly house-trained (so close!). His foster home includes both cats and dogs and he prefers his kitty friends. Interested adopters should expect a couple rounds of dog-testing with any existing dogs (low energy females preferred) and some warm-up time with men.” Age: 3 years old approx Weight: approx 65 lbs Temperament: Gets along with adults, kids, dogs Training: house trained. Meet cuddly Mario. He is a brown, dusted with black, and white Great Pyrenees mix born 12/25/2022. He is going to be big! He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and has been given a ProHeart 6 for heartworm protection. His adoption donation is $450.00 and the transport fee $165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Ms. Lady is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees mix who is super sweet, friendly with people and dogs and who would probably would be fine with cats because of her easy-going disposition. She is crate trained and housetrained but could use more leash training - she is rarely leashed as she has a big beautiful backyard to run around in her foster home in Texas! Lady has been thriving in foster as she recovers from Valley Fever. Although she has no symptoms, she must stay on the meds until her bloodwork comes back negative with a few more months on the meds. Lady is already fully vetted and other than the Valley Fever she is healthy, heartworm negative, has no tick borne diseases and is on monthly preventatives, etc. Lady is about 4 years old and weighs 68 pounds. She is not a fence jumper, although she is not left outside unsupervised. This gal is just happy to be in a home where someone is treating well and she does not have to worry about where her next meal is coming from. She came into a Texas shelter with another Pyr mix (possibly her brother) - both were owner surrendered because owners were letting them run loose and they did not want to pay the fine. The brother went to a local Austin rescue and Lady is now with NorthStar. Alayna is a beautiful Great Pyrenees girl who is approximately 4 years old and around 60 pounds. Alayna was adopted, and now due to circumstances beyond her control, is having to look for a new home. She lives in a home with another dog and multiple cats and kittens. She loves licking the cats and allows them to play with her tail and sleep with her. She is a playful girl protecting the chicken in the back yard. When she met some goats and horses she had no reaction to them. She absolutely loves kids and loves getting petted. Alayna has an alpha personality so would be best in a home as an only dog or in a home with a submissive dog. She requires a home with a yard that is securely fenced.
