- Chelsea is a purebred Great Pyrenees, as confirmed by an Embark DNA test, and she embodies all the charming traits of her breed, in a petite "pocket pyr" build.- In May 2023, at just 3 months old, Chelsea was heartlessly shoved under a fence at a Mississippi shelter prior to arriving to TLC. Despite her hardships, including a spinal malformation and congenital blindness in one eye, Chelsea's gentle demeanor never wavered. Her medical journey has been extensive, with numerous vet visits, tests, and a crucial surgery to improve her quality of life. Dr. Rosen, Chelsea's neurologist at VRC, emphasized that a radical stabilization surgery was essential for her to live a pain-free and happier life. She now lives a painfree life - running, jumping, and moving like a typical happy pup - While sometimes aloof at first, Chelsea is an absolute sweetheart and loves everyone she meets, especially kids - She has been attending school vistis since she was 3 months old and is now a seasoned pro - Her pyr-like goofiness brightens everyone’s day - Low-medium energy- She enjoys playful times with her toys and self-entertaining antics just as much as taking naps - True to her breed, Chelsea loves being outdoors in any weather- Enjoys going for walks, though she shows typical Pyrenees stubbornness at times- While she is crate trained, Chelsea enjoys sleeping through the night in her cozy, gated space - Dog-friendly, she loves playing with other dogs and lives happily with multiple canine companions- Typical for great pyrenees, Chelsea is a bit bossy and can be protective of her food and toys from other animals.
