Story
Adoption donation $525 weight  79 lbs  Age: 1 year as of 3/23/2024              Logan is a friendly and sweet boy who is the quintessential family dog, he adores children and just loves to be with his people. if you sit down, you will likely find his big head nestled on your lap. He loves toys and bones and is a very easy-going boy. Logan is 100% House trained.        Logan definitely needs a yard, this boy loves to be outside! He doesn’t go far, if you call him, he will come right over to you. he is leash trained and if you have a big enough crate, he will go in there for naps.         Logan’s father is a purebred Great Pyrenees and mom is a 35 lb mixed breed. His original owners in Mississippi put two of his sisters in a cardboard box in front of their house with a sign that said “free puppies.” Wags rescued the puppies and found them loving homes. The owners refused to give up Logan and his sister Lila but kept them tied up outdoors. Wags was finally able to  convince them to relinquish the two and Logan and Lila went to the rescue, enjoying freedom for the first time. Lila has just been adopted, now it’s time for Logan to find a loving home of his own.         Logan got along well with most of the dogs at the rescue, although he’s definitely the alpha male and does not like to be challenged by another male. In his foster home in the northeast Logan lives with three females, including a puppy who jumps all over him, and he just wags his tail. We’ve noticed that he does fine with small and medium dogs but tends to get more alpha with dogs his size. For that reason, we would prefer a home with dogs smaller than him or just a home where he can be the center of attention, he really just loves people so much.       Logan has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines. He is a healthy boy who is ready to make a lucky family a very loving companion. All Wags adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip  and transport to the northeast. Story
Lily MayMeet Lily, a sweet and affectionate two-year-old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix with a gorgeous, snow-white coat. Lily loves all people and will eagerly approach anyone for pets and attention. She has the typical “Pyrenees Paw” and will tap you when she wants attention or if you stop petting her.Lily loves both being outside in the yard, making sure it’s safe from intruders, as well as hanging inside with the family. She enjoys car rides with the wind blowing on her face, walking around town and long hikes in the woods. And her favorite activity is fetch! She will chase, catch the ball and return it at your feet. Outdoors, Lily likes sniffing the ground and keeping an eye out for squirrels, birds, and other wildlife. Being prey-driven, she may need redirection when encountering squirrels, rabbits, and birds. She also enjoys digging huge holes, which she considers her contribution to the landscaping efforts.Lily knows basic commands like sit, wait, let’s go, and come, and she has great recall. She’s a smart learner who enjoys training sessions.Lily enjoys spending time outside. Often, she’ll relax on the deck, observing her surroundings, content and peaceful. True to her breed, she will alert-bark to deter any perceived threats, showcasing her protective nature.Lily requires a secure, 6ft fence to ensure she stays safe and doesn’t wander off. Experience with Great Pyrenees is a must due to her specific needs and characteristics. Great Pyrenees are known for being affectionate, patient, confident, fearless, and gentle. They can be strong-willed and sometimes stubborn, but they are also incredibly loyal and loving. While not ideal for first-time dog owners, those familiar with their quirks will find them to be wonderful companions. If you're looking for a loving, loyal, and slightly goofy companion, and you have experience with her breed, Lily could be the perfect addition to your family!Name: Lily MayBreed: Great PyreneesSex: FemaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 55 lbs.Spayed/Neutered: YesHousetrained: YesCrate Trained  Yes, goes in easily, settles quickly (for at least 4-6 hours)Vaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children:  Over 12 years old - YesGood with Dogs:  YesGood with Cats:   YesAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: New England IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Franklin, AKA Frankie, was found as a lone stray on a busy street in Memphis, TN. Since his time in foster care, Frankie has been practicing how to be the best puppy he can be! His foster has several other dogs, a middle school-aged child, and a cat, who have been helping Frankie learn respect and boundaries. Frankie has picked up general commands like sit, hear, and touch. Since Frankie is a large breed, he would need the space to accommodate his needs. Frankie is young but quick to learn (applying the puppy patience, lol). He is highly food-driven, which helps with training. Frankie's socialization continues daily. Frankie has a natural dominant side and is being monitored to prevent bad habits from forming. Large Breed experience and continued training will be a must for this boy. He LOVES humans, rough play (sometimes too much), sleeping on cold tile floors. He loves getting loved on by those he trusts and chews on anything aside from himself. Frankie has such a sweet, loving side, and we cannot wait to see how he will blossom with a caring, forever family!Name: FranklinBreed: Great Pyrenees MixSex: MaleAge: 10 weeks as of 8/16/24Weight: 20lb as of 8/18/24Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. Story
Meet Arlo!Arlo is a stunning Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd mix. At only almost six months old, he weighs 50 lbs. This handsome boy is expected to grow into a gentle giant, likely reaching over 100 lbs in adulthood. Rescued from backyard breeders along with his seven siblings (who have all found their forever homes), Arlo is now thriving on a farm. He gets along wonderfully with all the dogs, other animals like chickens, llamas, cats, and even two young boys.Arlo isn't neutered yet, and due to his size, it’s recommended to wait until he’s over a year old before considering it. This gorgeous boy will find his forever home quickly, so don't miss out on the chance to make Arlo a part of your family! This boy is living on a farm, and that's what they are bred for—you don't necessarily need to have a farm, but you do need to have secure outdoor space—a 6' fence is required. There are no apartments/townhouses for this dog/breed. He will not do well and will more than likely be bored, and boredom brings trouble.Name: Arlo Ripley PloofBreed: Great Pyrenees/Anatolian ShepherdSex: MaleAge: 21 weeksWeight: 50 as of 8/16Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date.
