Meet our wild child, Disco! Disco is a husky mix that is looking for his forever home. All he wants to do is run, run, and run some more! He is pretty easy on the leash but even after a 2.6-mile walk, he was still playing in the yard! Disco will settle down so you can give him loves as long as he isn't in his play mode. He is a great pup and would do great with a nice-sized yard because he just loves to run and play. And how could you say no to those eyes?! No matter what you want to do, Disco is always up for any adventure! Come down and meet our Disco!

Meet Funk: Your Future Furry Best Friend! Name: Funk Age: 2 Years and 5 Months Breed: Siberian Husky Gender: Male Temperament: Calm and Friendly About : Meet Funk! Funk is a well-mannered husky that is excited to see the world! During walks, he loves to sniff the ground and take in all the new smells. He seems to be okay with seeing dogs and humans on walks and doesn't mind them. Funk does seem to take an interest in small creatures and cats so we do not recommend that he goes to a home with small animals. Otherwise, Funk is an angel that does great walking on leash and would make an absolutely awesome family dog. If you'd like to meet , please email lisa@wagspetadoption.org or come on down! Meet Geronimo! He has a lot of energy when he starts his walks or when you first let him out in the yard, but after a little bit, he does calm down. On walks, he loves to lead but after a few minutes, he will match your pace. He definitely loves to play ball and run around in the yard. Oh and he loves the pool. He's also very quiet and he does enjoy just laying around and hanging out with his humans super sweet pup. He knows commands sit, shake, wait, and leave it.

Story
RILEY HAS CANCER AND DESPERATELY NEEDS A FOSTER HOME! Riley has recently been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer and now needs a warm home and loving environment more than ever. Riley must be the only pet in an adult-only home and in a single family house so as to avoid close quarters with neighbor’s pets. He will probably take some time to bond again, but when he does, his loyalty is the real deal. As a foster family, AALOC will pay for all Riley's vet bills and medications. The team at AALOC will also be your support group for any questions or concerns you may have about Riley's care. You just need to provide Riley a safe and warm home, and the love and care he so desperately needs. Riley's story begins several years ago: It took several hours before anyone could corral Riley: he just could not believe his owner would abandon him behind AALOC. Riley just kept howling mournfully and would not respond to people who tried to get him to come towards him. He kept looking for his owner to come back for him - but they never did. Animal Control picked him up instead. No one claimed him, no one cared, except for one of our volunteers who made arrangements to have Riley come to AALOC. DNA testing reports that Riley is a Husky/American Staffordshire terrier mix and he weighs in at about 67 pounds. In general Huskies are intelligent, alert, outgoing, friendly and energetic. Typical traits of a Staffordshire terrier include tenacity, devotion, loyalty, attentiveness and courage. We think Riley demonstrates all of the above! Riley is a handsome, particularly smart dog that loves to play, go for walks, and meet new people. He is also a strong, quick dog that needs regular exercise of both his mind and body. Riley has been through special obedience training but still needs to be fostered by an experienced dog owner willing to provide the attention and patience Riley will need. Discipline and exercise, in conjunction with affection, is a must. If you feel you can provide the guidance and care Riley needs, please submit an application to foster Riley. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Riley and get to know him a bit. Or for more information regarding our foster program please call us at (714) 893-4393.

Story
Fiona is a shy, sweet dog who needs an owner(s) who can be patient as she adjusts to life outside of the shelter. She was found as a stray and has been overlooked while living in the shelter for 2 years. Given that her approximate age is 3 years, she has spent most of her life in a stressful environment. Her foster family says she is good on a leash and is good tempered. It appears she is fearful of children noises - like when they are playing at a park. Fiona currently lives in a house with a dog and cat so she is fine with other animals. A home with a dog my be best as she is learning from her foster sister - a German Shepherd - how to be a dog. Please inquire about this lovely dog!

Story
This pair is housebroken and know how to use the doggie door. They were Found walking on the freeway when rescued by a kind stranger who managed to catch both of them. An extraordinary lucky couple . . . They had been walking endlessly to the point their nails were worn down to their paws. They were taken to a local Veterinary Hospital and I was called to ask if I would take them. SO exhausted were they that lifting their head to eat was a challenge. It took days for them to recover from their endless journey leading no where. They are now in foster care with my mother and enjoying regular meals and comfortable beds. For additional information, call Lydia at 714-357-8405. The female is smaller at around 36 pounds and the male somewhat larger, about 40 pounds.
