Story
**Meet Trent: Your Loyal Companion for Adventure** Are you ready for a furry best friend who loves to play fetch and has a heart full of affection? Meet Trent, a charming canine looking for a forever home where he can share his love and energy with a loving family. Trent is a fetching enthusiast - literally! His eyes light up at the sight of a tennis ball, and he'll joyfully retrieve it for hours on end. A fenced yard would be a dream come true for Trent, as it gives him the space to run, leap, and indulge in his favorite game. Despite his playful nature, Trent is remarkably well-behaved on a leash. He walks calmly by your side, although his keen interest in wildlife might occasionally draw his attention. With a bit of gentle guidance, he stays focused and enjoys exploring the great outdoors with you. Affection is where Trent truly shines. He adores head rubs and cuddles, and his heart melts under gentle affectionate gestures. Whether it's a cozy evening on the couch or a sunny day in the park, Trent thrives on the love and attention of his humans. In public places, Trent is a true gentleman. He's friendly towards people and enjoys meeting new friends with a wagging tail and a bright smile. His easy-going demeanor makes him a joy to have around, whether you're out for a stroll or visiting a pet-friendly caf. When it comes to treats, Trent can be a bit picky, but he takes them gently from your hand. It's all part of his endearing charm - he knows what he likes and appreciates the finer things in life, like a tasty treat shared with a friend. If you're looking for a loyal companion who loves to play, craves affection, and brightens every room with his presence, Trent is the perfect match for you. Come meet Trent today and discover the boundless joy and love he's ready to bring into your life. Adopt Trent, and let the adventures begin! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. If you are interested in meeting Trent, come to Guilford County Animal Shelter between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

Story
Meet Grizzle: A Charming Husky Mix Looking for His Forever Home Grizzle is a delightful Siberian Husky mix with a unique and endearing appearance. With his striking coat and compact build, he may have some Corgi characteristics, giving him a distinctive look. His thick fur requires regular grooming to keep him looking his best. Personality and Behavior Initially reserved, Grizzle has come out of his shell and is now a loving and affectionate companion. He responds well to treat-based training and has learned commands like "sit, "lay, "paw, and "off. Grizzle enjoys learning new tricks and would benefit from a family that can spend time working with him. Daily Life and Needs Grizzle needs a secure, fenced yard because he's quite the escape artist and will test the boundaries if given the chance. Although he's still learning to walk nicely on a leash, he's making progress and generally does well with guidance. Grizzle enjoys lounging around with his people and is a calm presence during walks. He shows some reactivity to wildlife, which can be managed with treats and gentle redirection. Grizzle is currently adjusting to living with goats and a cat. While he's shown a relaxed demeanor around them, he still requires careful supervision and gradual introductions. He's curious about the cat but generally maintains a respectful distance. Toys and Play Grizzle is still discovering his favorite activities. He particularly enjoys small, stuffing-filled toys, which suit his shorter snoot. At this time, he is not interested in playing tug-of-war or fetch. Crate Training and Home Environment Grizzle is crate-trained and will go in with a treat. However, he can be quite vocal when left alone, so he would do best in a home where someone is around frequently. He's not well-suited for apartment living due to his vocal nature. Children and Training Grizzle has not been around children, so his behavior with them is unknown. He is good at communicating his boundaries though and based on his current demeanor, he might be best suited for a home with older children or no children at all, as he prefers not to be unexpectedly grabbed or touched. Potty Training and Health Grizzle is approximately 80% potty trained with only an occasional marking inside. His neuter surgery, which will be completed before adoption, should help with this issue. Grizzle is a sweet and gentle companion who is looking for a loving family that can provide him with the care and attention he needs. If you're ready to welcome a devoted friend into your home, Grizzle might be the perfect fit! As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet Grizzle, contact his foster mom Leanna at 336-298-6798 via text only please!
