Story
Josie is 2 years old. She loves to play - throw the ball - and loves to run. She is free to a good home and comes with her own cage and leash. She will not wander off, she will stay close to home. She will follow and sometimes lead on a leash. She is crate trained. She is not spayed nor up to date on vaccines. She is very shy around new people. She will eventually warm up to you after she gets to know you. She is scared of loud noises. She is very loving and a good girl.

Story
We rescued Marko 3.5 years ago from a group that cannot take him back, so we are looking to find him a new home that can better accommodate his needs. He is 6 years old and full of energy to exercise and play. He would do best in a home that has a tall fenced in yard to run around in since he has been known to jump, or with owners who can take him on daily walks. His owner will need understanding and patience to work with him on his anxiety in certain situations. He has previously shown aggressive behavior at the vet (no biting involved) but has improved over time and now only displays anxiety. He also gets anxious during car rides. He does well with dogs similar in size, but needs time to warm up to larger dogs with alpha personalities. He loves our other dog and will need time adjusting to a home without her. He loves being around people and could tolerate being in a home with older kids/teenagers who can handle his playfulness.

Story
Duchess is a 5 year old, 42lb husky who came to CHA from one of our partner shelters. Duchess is a survivor, as she was diagnosed with heartworm when she arrived at our shelter. Now, thanks to the efforts of our veterinary staff, she is officially heartworm free! Duchess is a very social girl who always greets her caretakers in the morning with bright eyes and a wagging tail. She loves going for long walks and is very well-behaved on leash, and would make the perfect hiking buddy! Duchess is a husky, and like all huskies she displays an elevated prey drive and high energy levels so she will need a forever home that is willing to accommodate those factors. If you are looking for a friendly and energetic girl to fill your life with tail wags and cuddles, come out and meet Duchess today!

Story
Our dog's name is Hannah, we bought her at a pet store in 2018. Hannah was born in 2018, she is spayed and has all her vaccines up to date. She is very playful and energetic. The main reason why we are giving her up for adoption is because my husband works out of state and we have a 20-month-old child and as a mother who practically lives alone, it is very difficult for me to take care of my son and Hannah. As I have already written, she is a very energetic dog and she likes to be taken out for walks and to play constantly. I am currently looking for a job and I do not think it is fair that Hannah has to stay practically all day alone at home.

Story
Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners. Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside. We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog! She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times. She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds. She has been spayed. Sassy lived with dozens of cats prior to being seized and taken to the shelter.Apply to foster Sassy and help her learn to trust people and gain confidence at ricopetrecovery.org
