Story
Meet Alina! She is a 1 yr old female Siberian Husky that weighs 48lbs and is stunning! She came in to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 6/24 as a stray. Alina has been very well cared for with beautiful soft silky fur, and did live indoors. Sadly her owners have not come to reclaim her. She is nervous with all the noise at the shelter. She will pace, constantly looking to find her way out, and even in the yard she looks through the gate as if to say where is my family? I told we would spend time with her to help her feel better until her new family arrives. Alina will need to have a tall secured fence in the backyard, and as she was an indoor pup, that is exactly where she needs to be again. Going on walks, plenty of petting and treats and she will have a big smile on her face in no time! Come meet this lovely girl!

Story
Moscow is a 1 year old, 63lb husky who came in as a stray on 7/25/24. If you're questioning the breed based on the markings you can't mistake the breed based on this guy's attitude and personality. He's all Husky, he's vocal, stubborn, extremely smart, silly and an escape artist. He's so skillful at escaping that he's shown us he can escape several different types of kennels, he knows how to open doors and can easily scale a wall or fence. This gentleman would do best with an owner experienced with the breed and has an adequate enclosure that he can't escape from. He is one of the more vocal huskies and could use some leash training because he's stubborn and he either wants to do it all by himself or he is planning an escape. He's friendly and at times he doesn't understand anything about boundaries because he likes to be really really close. He's outgoing and like most huskies he's opinionated and wants things his way. If Moscow sounds like he would be a good fit for your family come and meet him.

Story
Meet Louie, a mixed breed boy weighing in at 38 pounds and at approximately one year of age. He arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 7/30. This boy has so much personality! He is full of energy and enthusiasm, a fun-loving, tail-wagging, playful boy. He has the most beautiful clear blue eyes and a coat with interesting markings! He enjoys treats, will sit for them and takes them nicely. In his enthusiasm and excitement, he will jump on you so will need to be taught that is not acceptable. He is an amiable fellow who likes attention and would seem best suited for an active person or family. He would be happy with daily playtime, exercise, walks, or jogs and a couple of comfy cozy, doggy beds strategically placed around the house. He dreams of living inside with his people and being a part of their lives rather than being stuck in the backyard, especially in the oppressive heat of Texas summers. He promises to keep his people entertained and will give lots of love and devotion. Will you please consider taking this boy into your heart and home?

Story
**Meet Juniper: The Resilient Tripod Husky** Juniper is a three-year-old Husky who embodies the spirit of resilience. Found after a traumatic accident in rural Texas, Juniper’s life took a sudden turn when she was hit by a vehicle. Due to the severity of her injuries, the difficult decision was made to amputate her front leg, giving her the best chance at a pain-free and happy life. Despite this challenge, Juniper has proven that nothing can keep her down. She quickly adapted to life on three legs, and her vibrant spirit shines through in everything she does. Juniper loves playing with other dogs and gets along wonderfully with everyone she meets. Her loving nature and talkative personality make her the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal, spirited friend. Juniper is a true survivor, and she's ready to bring her unstoppable energy and affection to a forever home. Will you be the one to give this resilient girl the love she deserves? ##2148614##

Story
Hello, I'm Jericho! I'm young, full of life and ready to explore the world. I love to play, and I have energy to spare. Toss me a ball, and I'll fetch it all day! But I'm not all about games. I can be shy when I first meet new friends, but once I get to know you, I'm the sweetest companion. I'm curious about everything, always eager to learn new tricks. And when the day is done, I love nothing more than to curl up and cuddle. I'm looking for a forever home where I can share my love and enthusiasm. Will it be with you?

Story
Nova is on the smaller side as far as huskies go. She fits alot of  personality into her 35 pounds. Her personality is loving.  She offers cuddles and loves to sit or lay with you.  She loves ear, chest and belly rubs. She will give kisses if allowed.  Nova is not a barker or a howler. She turns in joyful circles if someone is at door. Her spins go supersonic when pizza is delivered.  The only sounds Nova makes is like Chewbacca from Star Wars but more quiet.  She does this when happy or to give her opinion in a conversation. Otherwise she is very quiet. No sounds would be disturbing to neighbors etc. Her Chewbacca is very low.  Nova is an unapologetic foodie. She will take any food left on the counter, table or plate if you are not guarding it. As much as she loves you when it’s food she’s going to choose her own survival first. She is definitely a counter surfer and should be crated during meal prep or meal time. Nova is great on a leash and she enjoys going outdoors to potty, walk, play or car ride but is an inside girl at heart. She is always first to go inside.  This sweet girl is gentle, quiet, well mannered and very civilized when she moves about in the house and in and interactions with other animals including humans.  Nova likes other pups but is not a fan of rough behavior and play. VERY gentle dogs of any size are best fit for her.  She uses a doggy door,  is house trained and crate trained.  Nova loves toys, balls and will fetch when she’s in the mood. She was raised with four little boys and a cat she played with by taking turns chasing it and then the cat chased her.  Nova is a husky therefore she is NOT for folks prone to allergies.  She does seasonally shed. If brushed outside (furminator) it helps a lot.  You MUST love to vacuum or own a roomba.  Nova is 2 years old and her adoption fee is $150.       ##1939504##

Story
Meet Uki. He is unique artic mix in search of an experienced artic breed guardian and home. He is very smart and playful, and would benefit from a home with a well balanced canine pack, and would do fine in a home by himself. Uki loves to explore, and has been a very quick learner. He has been working on crate and potty training, and engages very well with the canines he has met. He thrives with structure, routine, and partnering with his human. Uki would absoultely thive in the live of a nature seeker. He enjoys biking, running, and usining his nose to check out all of the ground. Uki was found abandoned and tied up at an apartment complex after his humans moved out and left him behind. Now he has the opportunity to find humans who understand his needs.

Story
Bailey is a 46lb Husky/Chow(birth date is 11/22/2016) & loves to be cuddled and chill with "hoomans". She is a calm dog who is crate trained, potty trained, knows basic commands and can be left alone in any room without nibbling, chewing, or bothering anything. Bailey isn't really the barking type; however she will bark as an alert. Bailey lives in a 2 adult household; she is around children from time to time. She interacts with other dogs well but I have never seen her around any other pet. She loves to "collect" balls while playing fetch. Bailey likes to go for walks and she typically likes to go out to potty twice a day. Bailey is the perfect addition to a calm relaxed home. We've had Bailey since she was 8 weeks old but in recent months I've but in recent months I've been sick and my already existing intolerance to dogs has increased. We love her so much and we are looking to Rehome her with a family that will love her just as much as we do & make it an easy transition for us all.

Story
He is a super good dog. We’ve had him for years since he was a little puppy. Have had no aggression issues. We have multiple kids and we are very social people. He does great around others. We’ve had many people come over. He’s never had any issues. Unfortunately, we are moving to a new home that does not allow pets. We have only a few days to move and they are extremely adamant about pets. We’ve even offered to pay a pet deposit along with pet rent.
