Story

Hi, my name is Charley Feeny and while I'm the happiest buddy now, before my Underdog days I had a pretty rough go of it. I used to have a loving mama, but one day she went away, and I found myself living with a person who did not like me very much. He was not feeding me or even letting me in from the cold. I wandered off and a nice lady found me. I showed her where I lived and she took me back, but the man said I was a stray and even though I barked and barked, he would not let me inside. The nice lady took me to a shelter. They said I was a hospice senior, and I that I was on the urgent rescue list. Fortunately, the staff really liked me, so they reached out to Underdogs, who sent a new mama to pick me up. My new foster home is so nice. There are other dogs to play with, I am allowed to curl up under the covers whenever I want to and there is lots of healthy food and treats to eat. She took me to the dog doc and she told her that I was neither neither a senior nor a hospice dog. I tried to tell everyone that, but apparently dog docs are more trustworthy. As it turns out, I am only about 6 years old and though not being fed regularly and neglected overall was hard on my kidneys, proper food and some medicine have been healing them nicely. I now weigh thirteen pounds and am looking perky and am the most handsome scruffy terrier and miniature poodle mix. I love the fenced yard at my foster digs and I especially love going for walks in the morning. New foster mama put an open crate in the living room so I can go in there any time I need time to myself. I also like toys to play with. One weekend we had lots of company, including a 12-year-old girl and extra dogs. Mama said she was so proud of how I behaved. She tells me that we are looking for my new forever family, someone that will take me for walks, feed me well, love me and help me feel secure again. She says that I will do best with adults and older children with dog experience. I love dog friends, but the kitties are not my most favorite. Francis is a young adult Terrier mix weighing about 14lbs. Francis was dumped at an overcrowded, high kill shelter in Texas when she was incredibly pregnant. The stress of the situation forced her into labor within 24 hours of being in the shelter. We were SO lucky that Fancis and all her puppie survived until we were able to get them to CO to our safe foster home. Francis has been an amazing Mom. So many doggy Momma's never care about their puppies and don't have that loving demeanor but Momma Francis has been amazing since day one. She LOVES her foster humans and wants to be with them as much as possible, but also cares so much about her babies and loves to check on them and take care of them as much as possible. It shows just how sweet and loving she is with everything and everyone. Francis loves to snuggle and play with toys. She loves sunbathing and hanging out with the other adult puppies in the home. Roscoe is a 2-3 year old Terrier mix weighing about 13lbs. Roscoe was originally rescues from a shelter in Texas back in October. He was a shelter favorite and because they were so overcrowded they reached out to us in hopes we could take him in before he was euthanized for space. Roscoe made his way to CO where he was in a wonderful foster home with another dog and a kiddo - he did great with everybody! He is great on a leash, and listens very well. He is sweet and snuggly and everything you could ever want in a dog! Roscoe was adopted from Brighter days at the end of October and we were so excite for him! Unfortunately a couple weeks ago Roscoe was surrendered back to our rescue. While we feel like we failed him, we try to remember we did the best we could, but cannot control every other human. Poor little Roscoe is now back looking for his true forever family, a family who wont give up on him. Roscoe was surrendered back to us because he loves to dig under fences. He has a high prey drive for bunnies and squirrels, so when he sees one there isn/t much he wont do to get to it. While Roscoe may never be able to be in a yard (no matter how well it's fenced) without supervision there are tons of easy solutions to this, and Roscoe is the most amazing dog otherwise. He would do great in an apartment or with someone who has a yard but knows he will need to be walked on a leash. He would also do just find being tethered in the backyard or with a super secure fence and someone that wont let him out of their sight in the yard. He gets along great with other dogs and all people. He is sweet and loving. His new fosters live in a townhome and say he is just the greatest dog! Momma Mitzi is such a spunky gal! She is about 23 lbs and could probably stand to gain a few to fill out. Her playful funny personality has come out wonderfully after raising her puppies. It took her a couple days to realize she was safe but once she's comfortable she shines with her talkative grunts and spurts of energy. We are working on her jumping up and using her mouth to get your attention. Due to her exuberance and mouthy-ness I believe a house without young kids will be best for her and set her up for success. She is very food motivated, will go in her kennel for snacks, sleeps through the night under my bed, uses a dog door to take herself outside to potty, eats her food no problems, and gets along great with her foster pack both big and small. I have trusted her out of her kennel while running out for short periods of time. She likes to patrol the yard and will let you know if someone is passing by. She's a little mischievous and "helps" with laundry (she steals socks and what not) and might misplace a shoe so you'll need to further her training on what's hers and what isn't. Didi is probably the most independent of her litter so far. She is people oriented but you can find her entertaining herself with toys and happy in your company. She is a young puppy and herforever family will need to be ready for all things PUPPY! She will be an energetic dog and will need mental and physical stimulation. She is a herding breed mix so a family that understands the tendencies of these breeds and is willing to put in the work that will set her up for success! Her mom is about 25 lbs, shorter legged and scruffy (maybe a terrier/corgi mix) but I would expect her to be bigger than that full grown. We are not sure what dad was, but a best guess is the heeler mix you see. Didi is a fun spunky girl with a lot of love to give, come meet her! ##2234665##

I have owned Mariah for 1.5 yrs. She is very lively and smart. Unfortuneately, my Parkinsons Disease condition has progressed so much that she is now too lively for me and the less active she is the more frustrated both of us are. I have another dog who is older and more mellow and the two get along great. I will keep the older mellow dog :-) Can you help Mariah please?
