Story
This pups adoption fee has been partially sponsored by All Aboard or an All Aboard partner! The new adoption fee is reflected on the profile. ADOPTION FEE: $75 Kammie is a shy older gal looking for a very special home. Kammie was found as a stray in Texas with her 3 babies. All of Kammie's pups but one did not survive the conditions they were in prior to arriving at the shelter. Poor Kammie had most likely been roaming the streets her whole life, and had more than a few litters of pups throughout her life. Once Kammie arrived to AAAR she was placed with an experienced foster. Because she had had so much trauma, this girl was timid and determined to run to the streets as the only home she knew. When the fosters where gone Kammie had bust through the door, and fence to escape. This was in February of 2020 so the weather was very snowy and frigid. The nights in the single digits, Kammie was determined to find somewhere familiar. Our team was tracking Kammie right away, the whole community got involved. Kammie was a pro at being a stray, and knew exactly how to stay clear of people, and avoided being caught. We spent 9 days tracking, trying to trap her, and talking to professionals. Kammie was in our sight always, which was very frustrating, and caused us sleepless nights. Finally, on 2/7/20 Madison got a call that Kammie was hiding, freezing under someone's deck. This called for a plan that had to be executed very carefully, or Kammie would be on the run once again. Madison and her dad, Shawn showed up with a rabies pole, blankets, and Kammie's puppy to try and show her we meant well. It took 15 people to barricade the deck with blankets, while Shawn crawled under the deck and slipped the lead over Kammie's neck. Once he pulled Kammie out from under the deck, Madison put another lead on her to secure. Everyone took a deep breath, after 9 LONG days and the whole community's involvement, Kammie was finally safeand warm. Madison and Shawn took Kammie to the Animal Hospital of Colorado where she could get checked out. She was a bag of bones, her paw pads bloody raw, and her nose frost bitten. Madison wasn't going to let Kammie out of her reach. From her foster, Madison (rescue director): Fostering Kammie has been baby steps of process, but she has made major improvement over the years! This sweet girl took 3 months to even come out of her kennel by herself. She would hide as far back in her kennel as possible, and had to be dragged out with much effort to come out of her "den". Kammie was always on guard, keeping eyes on you at all times, walking slowly and close to the ground. She was never aggressive, just has never learned how to be a dog. She spent her years wandering the streets of Texas, protecting her babies, and fighting for her life. Kammie started to bond with me over cleaning her ears, brushing, and giving her chicken. This was a slow process and seemed to be one step forward, two steps back for over a year. I would celebrate over little accomplishments like "she wagged her tail briefly when I opened the door!!" She is very specific about where I am standing, looking, and what I am doing. She was quick to run back into her "safe place" - her kennel. One day I brought home a very insecure foster dog named Tank. He was a shy, nervous ball of anxiety and was also unsure of how to be a dog. He was very fearful of other dogs and would scream if they even sniffed him. I noticed Kammie was a little interested in Tank and he didn't seem to look at her in fear. I decided to open Tank's kennel to see if he and Kammie would want to sniff noses. Tank beamed out of his kennel right into Kammie's kennel. Kammie ran into her kennel as well, unsure of what was going on. Tank would then run in and out of the kennel, forcing Kammie to be his friend. It wasn't long before they were running around the yard together, learning how to be a dog and have fun! This was like night and day for the both of them. Tank eventually got adopted. Kammie decided she was Queen of the house, and welcomed new fosters kind of like a mother figure. She is still shy, specific, and not fond of new people. But she has come a LONG way! She finally will play, and has fun. She doesn't have to watch her every move and live in fear. She is now safe and she knows it. I am in no rush to find Kammie a home, as she is a wonderful house guest. She has taught me a lot in her growth. Patience is key! If the right owner comes along, I will be so grateful for Kammie to find a home where it is all about her!

Story
This pup's adoption fee has been partially sponsored by All Aboard or an All Aboard partner! The new adoption fee is reflected on the profile. Waldo is a special boy who needs a home with a fenced in yard (no apartments). Waldo has officially finished his 21 day board and train and is so excited to show off his new tricks to potential adopters. He is a high energy guy who would love a job to keep his brain busy :) He is a great dog! Introducing Waldo, the spirited lab seeking a special someone! Rescued many days ago, Waldo's journey includes overcoming some challenges, including leash reactivity and few quirks that he needs worked with. Rescued and fostered with boundless love, Waldo's journey has seen him getting into a few sticky situations, which only highlight his need for guidance and understanding. However, with the right patient and dedicated owner willing to invest in his training and socialization, Waldo promises to be a loyal companion. His goofy charm, intelligence, and love for people make him a loving companion for the right person. Are you ready to give Waldo the understanding and commitment he deserves? Waldo is a goofy lab mix! He is an amazing learner, but get overstimulated when other dogs are around. He can be a bit hyper but wears down with fetch. He has honestly been doing do great in foster care! However he is very used to a routine and would benefit from more socialization. He has wonderful potential and we believe will be the perfect fit for someone who can recognize his puppy nature and help him work through it. He gets along well with dogs, but seems to mimic their behavior. He does do good with dogs, and I think he would benefit from having a dog friend to play with. Just with the right introduction, he also needs more socialization to be the best boy he can be! Past shelter staff notes: This boy is so sweet! He is very gentle, and was so great at making the other dogs feel comfortable! He loves to get pets, and does really well on leash! He's SO sweet and silly and is an all around happy boy! His silly facial expressions when he plays are sure to win you over! He is a very loyal, adventurous, and smart boy. Treats and toys are the way to his heart, he will do anything for a cookie or stuffed toy. He is very good with routine, and likes to know what is happening next. He really is just a giant puppy that needs to be given a chance! He is house and kennel trained. He knows sit, shake and lay down! ADOPTION FEE: $75 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Story
Meet Saucy! This extra large girl is super sweet - and very strong! This sweet girl is ready to find her forever home! Please note that Saucy is a LARGE girl, so normal dog gates are not likely to contain her. :) Crates seem to be perfectly fine! She is just able to knock down the types of gates you put in a doorway to block off a room. More from her current foster: "Saucy (aka Sauce or Sausage) is doing great! She is a super sweet and cuddly girl who just wants to lay in bed all day and play with stuffed toys. She is quite the bed hog but loves to be touching you while she sleeps, either belly up or pressed up against you as much as possible. She does the cutest little happy spins and hops when I come home. She is super low-maintenance in the home. We are working on "leave it when it comes to dogs she sees out on walks as she is reactive. But she does really well if you are proactive when there is another dog. She is timid around men but loves to play tug o war with my boyfriend." Most recent update from her foster: "Saucy's such a sweetheart! She loves to explore on walks and play, but is also a big couch girl. She enjoys being pet, loves belly rubs, and will sit her big girl self right on your lap if you let her. She doesn't typically like other dogs, but just needs someone who loves big dogs on walks. Saucy has so much love to give, and needs someone who has so much love to give right back to her! From her current foster: "Saucy the sweetest girl :) When you first meet her she seems very timid, but it doesn't take her long to warm up to you so long as you give her a treat and some scratches. She loves hanging out on the couch, her love language is obviously quality time because once she gets to know you, she rarely leaves your side. She has a hard time on walks as other dogs can make her nervous, but you just have to turn her attention away and she immediately forgets and keeps on walking. Since she is such a big girl it is hard sometimes to keep her from pulling on walks but with a little practice she is great to walk with! She is such a bundle of joy and love, she even spins in circles when she gets excited! From her previous foster: "She's a complete couch potato that's always down for tummy rubs and cuddles. For play time she LOVES taking dips in the pool and fetching ball. Now because of her size she doesn't like fetching too far, sometimes she gives up if the ball goes further than she'd like so be a lil nicer when you throw for this big ol chunky monkey. She does extremely well in kennels, especially for a gal her size. Just tends to just bundle up in her bed and fall asleep after shes had a good treat. Now she does seem to do alright with small dogs but with male/bigger dogs there's a slight dominance issue I believe. (I haven't tested this out on enough dogs to be sure but I've just seen a pattern with how she does with the guys here). ADOPTION FEE: $450 Meet Shoshone! This gorgeous man came to us from Texas and is ready for his new life in Colorado! Shoshone is a playful and energetic man who is always ready for adventure! He prefers a cat free environment and due to his size would be best in a home without small children! He can be mouthy on the leash and would be best with an experienced owner. From his foster on 3/13/25: "Shoshone has been an absolute joy to have around. He's very well behaved and has been especially great with our very territorial lab. he's been respectful of her space, allowing them to coexist peacefully. Though he’s not the best on a leash just yet, he’s definitely made great strides. He’s much more confident than when we first met. He knows basic commands like sit and come; he loves to please and is eager to learn🥹 he is super playful and energetic but he’s also a big ole cuddle bug. He is fully crate trained and house trained. He’s also very quiet. Our other dogs bark every time a tree branch moves, and he has not barked once. He’s a little anxious around new people but he warms up so quickly! 10/10 experience with Shoshone!" From his outing handler: "Shoshone did INCREDIBLE on his little outing the other day. He is the sweetest, best boy I have ever walked with at all aboard. He was so excited the entire car ride he couldn’t keep his tongue off my face! We walked three miles in the snow and he loved every part of it! He is incredible on a leash, regardless of how large he is he did not pull on the leash at all! Of course he was curious of all the smells and when he saw the bunnies run by he got a little excited, but he was more than easy enough to handle. He was excited when we walked both by people and other dogs, but kept his cool and did not get in their personal space. We really enjoyed our day out. Shoshone is the goodest boy as he’s just happy to be here and deserves all the love" We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. ADOPTION FEE: $425 Meet Betty Lou! This lovely lady is sweet as can be. She is happy go lucky and dog friendly. Betty Lou is currently battling some skin issues, but is getting better everyday. More from her foster: (3/7) “Betty Lou is such a sweet girl who loves her other doggie friends and attention from the humans! She’s got such a goofy personality and she’s curious about absolutely everything. She can be crazy at times but she makes up for it with her cuddles (although she will lay on top of you) she is an amazing dog that deserves a forever home!” From her foster (2/20): betty lou is a sweet baby angel! she is the most loveable happiest dogs around. betty is good with other dogs and loves to give kisses but doesn’t have much sense of personal space. betty listens very well and can get a little confused sometimes and is just full of excitement and curiosity about everything, especially food! betty can be weary of her surroundings at times especially in new environments but as long as you make her feel safe she will warm right up, she is ready to find her forever home! From his amazing foster: (3/7): "Nelly has been the most AMAZING foster, it has been so special getting to know his little personality. When he first came to Colorado, he was so scared and timid. With time, we have come to know his silly personality, he LOVES to get his zoomies out in the yard and has finally started wagging that little tail of his. Nelly is also great with cats, he is so gentle and kind with his foster sister! Overall, Nelly is a sweet sweet pup, who with a little love and guidance, will be the best companion!" My name is Chip! I am a 9 month old Shepherd mix and I was just rescued by the Pet Association. My first owner abandoned me in Kansas where I was picked up as a stray by animal control. I was sent to a kill-shelter, but they came to save me! I am nervous at first because I haven't had the best start in life. But, once I trust you I am a HUGE cuddler. I love toys and other dogs and am very playful and submissive. I am very expressive and ALWAYS have my tongue hanging out. I have the biggest heart with a smile to match. I am housetrained but I am still working on my basic commands and leash training. Come see me!

Story
Izzy is the girl next door. She is more than beautiful - she is wholesome, approachable, and relatable. She is obnoxiously optimistic, always down for a spontaneous adventure, and wants everyone to like her. Due to her young age, she would benefit from a home that can provide regular mental and physical stimulation. While she enjoys the companionship of other canines, it’s not a requirement, and she would be just as happy joining in on all your daily activities. While extremely eager to please, Izzy is still learning some basics about home etiquette, jumping up on people, and leash manners. With continued guidance, she will blossom into a perfect best friend. Izzy is potty and kennel trained, as well as dog and children friendly. She would do best in a home without cats. To add this blonde beauty to your home, click over to our adoption application on our website. Izzy is a 1-year-old Golden Retriever rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $1200 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and spay. Izzy is also tested with other dogs, children, and is kennel trained and housebroken. She will do best in a home without cats. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if she might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525). For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772, or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned. Thank you for choosing adoption! Hello, I'm Landon! I'm a calm and mellow guy with a kind and gentle soul who enjoys long walks and long naps. I can be a little skittish at first, but with some treats and patience, I warm up quickly and love making new friends. Whether you're watching TV or reading a book, I’m content just being by your side, soaking up the peaceful moments. I’m also playful and polite with other dogs. Actually, at the shelter, they call me a "Playgroup Rockstar.” I’m already learning new things quickly, and I’m ready for a future full of love and loyalty. If you're looking for an attentive and affectionate companion, I promise to be the best friend you’ve ever had. Also, I’m heartworm positive, but that just means I’m available for foster-to-adopt while Animal Friends Alliance provides my treatment. Don’t worry - heartworm isn’t contagious to dogs, cats, or people, and I’ve got a long, happy life ahead of me.
