Sadie is a well-mannered and friendly girl who joined us following her family's relocation. Having spent most of her life with them, she is now adjusting to our foster program. Although new to the program, Sadie is eager to find a forever home where she can be part of a loving family. Is that something you can offer? Sadie is friendly and house trained. She is good with kids and other dogs. Sadie's one quirk is she doesn't like her feet touched. Interested in knowing more about Sadie? Story
Meet Malibu! This beauty loves life and greets each day with joy. She's sweet and friendly, always eager to meet new friends and create smiles. Malibu is a dog who loves to love and be loved in return! Malibu is house trained, kennel trained, and sleeps through the night unkenneled. She loves people and enjoys canine friends with a proper introduction, but she has not yet had a chance to interact with kitties. If you're looking for an active partner, Malibu LOVES to be outside and plays an impressive game of catch. Walks are the BEST, and car rides are super fun, too! But when you're in the mood to binge Netflix, she's down for that too-- Malibu is a master cuddler! This sweet girl is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal BFF. Malibu's ideal home would involve limited alone time, an active family, a 6-foot fence, and a confident and/or submissive canine companion her size or larger; she loves other dogs but can be a bit bossy, so a non-reactive pal will be key for her success. She loves kids and has responded well to toddlers, but little ones 10-years or older might be the best fit for Malibu. With her zest for life and lovable nature, Malibu will make every day brighter. Adopt Malibu and let her bring a wave of joy into your life! Malibu is eligible for our Foster to Adopt Program.

Story
Just wanted to give a little update on our foster dog, Bruce. We fostered him 4 years ago when he was only 2 years old and he was an absolute gem! Since he was returned by his adopters, I was worried maybe the last 4 years haven't been kind to him, and that he might not be the same dog we remembered.... Nope! He hasnt changed one bit! Unbelievably sweet, playful, easygoing, and gentle with the kids. Zero accidents, goes in his crate no problem at night (doesn't even cry or bark) Zero food aggression. Plays great with our dogs. Doesnt jump the fence, comes right in when called. Loves to cuddle. He is hands down the easiest foster we’ve ever had. Bruce is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. If you would like to meet Bruce please fill out an adoption application at Mscrescue.org/adopt.

Meet Latte, a five month-old Retriever Labrador mix who's full of love and energy! This adorable pup is great with dogs, cats, and kids, making him an ideal family companion. Latte is fearless in his home and loves to play; he’ll happily turn anything into a toy; so be prepared for plenty of fun!. After he’s worked off his zoomies, he’s all about the kisses and cuddles. Latte does well in his kennel and sleeps peacefully there at night. He’s mostly house trained with very rare accidents, and he’s still getting the hang of outdoor walks, as he’s a bit braver when he's indoors. Latte is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and ready for his forever home where he can keep playing and cuddling! If you are interested in Latte please fill out an adoption application at mscrescue.org/ adopt.

Story
Hi! I’m Bonnie and I’m looking for a furever home! Here’s a little bit about me, in case you were wondering. My adoption fee is $200 and that includes my spay, vaccinations, microchip, and my adoption starter kit! What My Friends Say About Me: - I’m a 3 year old goofy girl full of life and love to give a family! - I’m a good mix of energy, love to play and romp around, but also like to hang out with the people. - I LOVE kids, but can be a bit excitable for tiny tots - I like most other dogs, but can be a bit too excited on leash, so slow introductions are best for me! The Type of Home I’m Looking For: - I would do best in a home with no cats as I do find them fun to chase. - I would LOVE a family that loves to go for adventures and leads an active lifestyle Apply to meet me today!

Story
SEEKING FOSTER HOME Meet Lycan, the best older gentleman with the kindest soul. Lycan is about 7 years old and he has had a pretty rough go at life, although you wouldn't know it when you meet him. Lycan was kept on a chain for his whole life until we caught wind of his situation and were able to take him into our program. When we arrived to take him off his chain, he was starved and dehydrated beyond belief, but happy as all get out to see us walking up. Not a growl to be heard, Lycan knew we were there to save him. After 2 of our staff members cut off his rusted and filthy collar, it was on to a vet visit for vaccines, a 5 hour car ride, and thus began our journey of nursing Lycan back to health. Lycan is currently on a meal plan to get back up to a healthy weight so he can be safely neutered and prepped for his forever home. While we work on this process, we are desperately seeking a foster home, so Lycan can learn what it's like to be a true pet and not an object to be left outside. If you can find it in your heart to give this guy the opportunity to be an inside dog for the first time in 7 years, please fill out our online application at kcpaws.org. Lycan does need to be an only pet at this time, and needs a home free of young children.

Story
Meet Duke! Duke came to us all the way from a kill shelter in Florida, where he was euth-listed due to his age and blindness. After making the long trip, he has settled in well at the little red barn where he is proving to be quite the sweetheart. Duke loves to walk around the barn and absolutely LOVES his toys. He carries them everywhere and will play for hours. Due to the fact that he's blind and loves toys, we think maybe a home with older kids would be best just because he does sometimes accidentally nip a hand when he's trying to grab his toy. Same with kisses, sometimes he accidentally misses but he is all sweetness with all people. Despite being blind, he gets around really well and doesn't let it stop him from being a great dog! So far, we think Duke might do best as an only-pet. The other dogs spook him and he does much better on his own. He is an older guy who would prefer a calm house where he can mosey around the rest of his days.

Story
For six years, Kona has waited. Five of those in shelters, watching as others found their forever homes while she stayed behind. Fourteen months in a foster home, loved but still waiting. Waiting for someone to finally say, She’s the one. She belongs with me. Most don’t know the pain she’s endured. She was saved from a kill shelter by a small rescue, but instead of safety, she found suffering. She didn’t get along with the other dogs there, and instead of kindness, she was met with cruelty. The woman in charge would take a cigarette lighter to her skin whenever she acted out. Imagine the fear, the confusion, the loneliness she must have felt. When we found out what was happening, we were given an ultimatum: take her, or she would be put to sleep. We didn’t hesitate. We brought her into our care, promised her she would never know pain again, and have loved her ever since. But love isn’t the same as home. Kona is sweet, snuggly, and silly. She loves stuffies, squeaky toys, and the simple joy of curling up next to you on the couch. She doesn’t beg at the table, doesn’t bark for no reason, and is completely housebroken. She loves all people—kids, too—and has the best little zoomies that will make you smile even on the hardest days. She takes daily medication for a history of seizures, but she’s been seizure-free for seven months now. What she needs is a home where she is the only pet—a place where she can finally feel safe, secure, and loved beyond measure. Right now, Kona spends most of her days alone. Her foster family adores her, but with their changing schedules, she’s left waiting yet again. And hasn’t she waited long enough? Six years. That’s how long she’s been overlooked. She doesn’t have endless years ahead of her. But she does have today, and tomorrow, and however many days she’s blessed with left to give someone her whole heart. And isn’t that worth something? Kona needs a hero. She needs you. Please, don’t let her spend another day waiting. If you can foster or adopt this beautiful soul, apply at www.alwaysandfurever.org/forms. Let’s give Kona the home she has always deserved. #KonaDeservesLove #FosterOrAdopt #ThisIsRescue #NotYourAverageShel

Story
Meet Eclipse! This sweet girl came to us from a rural shelter in Oklahoma where she was dumped after being attacked by another dog. She has healed from her physical wounds, but her heart is still healing. She is very cuddly and would love a home to show her kindness and safety. Eclipse is potty trained and prefers calm dogs or no other dogs due to her past trauma of being attacked. She would also prefer a no-cat home.
