Hello, I am looking for a great home where June can live out the rest of her life. She is a fantastic companion and a very sweet girl. She is great with kids and loves to play fetch with her ball. She is house trained. She has never bitten or even growled at anyone. She is 7 years old but still has the energy of a pup in spurts. She is a very fun loving sweetheart!

Story
You can call me Vinny if you'd like! I came all the way from Texas where I was on the euthanasia list. These nice people saw my post asking for help and they saved me. I have the nicest foster family. It's because of them I am here. They really are taking the bestest care of me and say I'm really sweet. Here's what my amazing foster mom has to say 'bout me: He is very friendly and social and loves your attention. (He's a hugger but not in an aggressive way- I am working on telling him down.) He knows sit and is treat motivated so I bet he will love to learn more tricks. He comes when called and listens well. Walks well on leash and so far has kept his crate clean and no accidents. His tummy is going through some food changes and I am impressed he has not had an accident in my house- I am also being consistent on letting him out. He gets along with my dogs and is interested in my cat but backed off when the cat said no thank you! He slept in his crate the last couple nights, but he does cry in the very beginning. I think he just misses people, but he's quiet the rest of the night. No issues with my kids or their friends however, but he doesn't know his size so may need to be cautious around smaller kiddos. He is a bag of bones at 50 pounds right now so once he packs on some weight, he will be a pretty good sized boy. I gave him a bath and he tolerated it just fine. He does need a grooming to just sort of get his coat evened out, but I think his coat will be easily maintained after that. He doesn't have that real tight curl so regular brushing and an occasional groom will suit him. He gets up in the car easily and seems to want to ride, but I think he gets a bit spooked during. I think he will be fine after settling in, he has had a lot of trauma and traveling lately. He did great at vet today and was a friendly pal to all people and dogs!

Story
Pretty girl Lola was dumped in the country with one of her six week old puppies. This was several weeks ago, and the puppy has since found a home, so now it's Lola's turn! She is about 50 pounds and friendly with kids, dogs, and cats. She is potty trained and sleeps all night quietly in her kennel. She loves to cuddle, and would be happy to play fetch and run in the backyard (when it's not too hot!)

He has the sweetest soul and is so happy to be with his people, part of the action, and part of the family! He still has puppy energy and absolutely loves his squeaky toys! He is very dog and kid friendly but unsure about cats. He would love someone to take him on short walks and play with him so he can snuggle with you the rest of the day! Story
We show our dogs by appointment only. If you are interested in fostering or adoption from us, please fill lout our online application at kcpaws.org. Whiskey's adoption fee will be $150. She must go to a home with at least one other dog.  Whiskey lived on a rural farm in Oklahoma as a completely feral dog. When she arrived she had no idea what it meant to be touched by a human. She had never been on a leash, never even eaten from a bowl. She was terrified of everything around her and did not know what it meant to trust anyone. For weeks, our staff would sit in her run just to get her used to human company, she was to scared to take treats from us and would wait to eat until the night time when everyone was gone. We slowly began to introduce her to other dogs, which really helped her start to come out of her shell just enough to go outside and back in on her own. Whiskey’s rehabilitation has been nearly 4 years in the making. Slowly, she finally started to bond with a particular staff member. She enjoys quiet time and gentle pets and brushing. Whiskey is now in a wonderful foster home and has made a lot of improvement and is beginning to trust people. Her foster mom has been working on getting her used to leashes, and she now goes for walks EVERY NIGHT! This is a huge improvement, and we are so proud of her. Whiskey has another dog in her foster home and they get along well, she's not really much of a player but she co-exists with another dog just fine. We are requiring that she go to a home with another dog since she is much more comfortable with other canines around to show her everything is okay. She often likes to spend time just laying in her bed. She is a den dog who likes to have a safe space.  Whiskey is food motivated and will warm up to new things with the help of her favorite treats. She squeals with joy at new foods, and especially loves a little bit of ice cream. Overall, Whiskey has had a long journey to learning how to be a house pet, and she is still learning everyday. She is a quiet, shy girl who has never barked or growled in almost two years in her foster home. We're hoping to find Whiskey a family that will give her lots of time, love, and TLC.August 16, 2024, 5:04 pm
