Story
Sunkist, aka, Sunny is a 22-pound pup who is as bright and warm as her name suggests! She may be a young puppy, but she is already mastering potty training, sleeping in her crate, and learning how to walk on a leash. She absolutely adores her foster brother, and shes curious but respectful of the two cats in the house. Her best features have to be her big, floppy ears and her clumsy puppy feet. But shes not all looks - shes quickly picking up on sit, down, place, stay and recall. Any family would be so lucky to have this sweet, beautiful, smart girl!

Story
Hi there! My name is Athena! I came into the shelter after my previous owners could no longer care for me. I am an affectionate and gentle gal looking for a home that came show me a lot of love. As you might have noticed, I am extra fluffy so I am currently on a diet to help me get to a healthy weight. I will need my new family to help me incorporate exercise into my new routine. I still will enjoy tasty treats, but in moderation. I hope to meet you and become best pals :)INSIGHTS FROM MY DOG DAY OUT:`Athena went out on a Dog Day Out where she had brunch at Southern Village and took a walk around the neighborhood trails, then went for a car ride where she was a perfect angel! She finished up her day lounging on a dog bed at Lanza’s cafe while we had coffee and pastries. She loved greeting people who walked by and giving us lots of kisses! Athena is truly a gem and would make an amazing addition to any family!`

Story
Hi, I'm Franklin! I'm a 5-month-old Lab/Pit mix, currently weighing around 30 pounds, and I can't wait to find my forever family! Since I was about 8 weeks old, I've been in a foster home, and I've made lots of friends-two dogs and two cats! I get along with everyone, and I love stealing toys (don't worry, I don't tear them up!). I'm crate trained and mostly potty trained as long as you take me outside regularly. I know how to sit, and I'm eager to learn even more tricks-I'm a fast learner and super smart! I adore kids and love to play, so I'd fit right in with a family who enjoys having fun. I'm up to date on all my vaccinations, dewormed, and currently on Heartgard and NexGard to keep me healthy. I've got a big heart and lots of energy, so if you're looking for a playful, loving companion, I might be your perfect match! Let's meet soon! Love, Franklin If you are interested in adopting this pet, please email dixied110@gmail.com. Franklin has a $75 adoption fee. ***This is a courtesy listing, meaning this dog is not part of Hope Animal Rescue's foster program. Beau is sweet, very loving, and likes long walks. unfortunately we are unable to care for him any longer. We began to dog sit him a couple of weeks from a colleague and ended up adopting him. They didn’t tell me much about him, only that he is a lab and he had his shots 3 years ago.

Story
Shadow is a playful and sweet boy who loves to run but needs a bit of discipline and training. We are looking to find him a healthy, happy, and an energetic parent. A family that will treat him like a part of their own family and keep him indoors and not chained outside. He loves to eat and hasn’t had too much human or dog interaction but will learn with a good parent. Only reason we are trying to place him in a new home is because we just had a baby and our home is small so it’s really difficult to give him time and proper space also we feel as if we can’t give him what he deserves. We love Shadow and he is a joy to have but ultimately want what’s best for him.

Story
Ellie is such a sweet dog and she’s great with the kids. We’ve just gotten so busy in life in general and don’t really have the time to spend with her like we wish we could and like she deserves. Looking for a great new home for her with someone who has the time and energy for her, maybe even a home with kids or other dogs so that she can have some playmates.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PLEASE NOTE: If you are on PetFinder or other search site, you do NOT need to introduce yourself.  All dogs on our website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs.  The link to our application is in the dogs bio below.    FOSTER COMMENTS: Jack is a handsome guy with a shiny coat and the cutest curved tail. In April, he turned 2 years old.  He is a Labrador Retriever mix who is fully grown and weighs 35 lbs. He is an affectionate dog that loves his people and stuffed animals.  Jack is initially timid with strangers but warms up quickly and is so friendly.  He loves other dogs and wants to play!  He is high energy so the other dog has to be able to deal with that.  He is very interested in cats and wants to play so he is best in a home without cats.  His energy level is alot for young children so he is best in a home with older children.   Jack is not a vocal dog but is excitable when he wants to go outside or be fed and will then bark loudly.  Jack is totally housebroken and crate trained.  He is in his crate when I am not home to supervise and at night to sleep.  He goes in his crate easily and I give him a treat each time he goes in. Jack loves other dogs but I think he would be fine as the only dog in the house.  He loves his people and all their attention. He will greet you with a doggie wiggle butt!   Jack would love a fenced yard to get out his energy, but he does fine on a leash if his adopter can make the commitment to walk him several times a day. Warm up your arm because Jack loves to retrieve a ball!  He loves his soft stuffed toys and will carry them around but will chew the stuffing out if not supervised, he's very "puppy" like.  Jack would be a great family dog, he's a great size, in excellent health and very affectionate.  He learns easily because he is treat motivated. He is ready for his forever home.  Could Jack be a new member of your family?  Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.    Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.    INTERESTED IN ADOPTING JACK?
