Story
Hi, my name is Chip! I'm eight months old and just about 40 lbs. I'm looking for a family that loves tackle hugs…I come in hard for a snuggle and, boy, do I love to snuggle. And belly rubs are awesome! I came to rescue about a month ago. I was really sick with some kind of virus called Parvo. My sister was sick too. Unfortunately, our owners surrendered us to the rescue so we could get treatment for the virus; my foster mom says it really expense to help Parvo pups. It was scary, but I got better (so did my sis!) and my foster family came to rescue me. When my foster family brought me home, they noticed I still wasn’t feeling great and my back legs were really weak. It turns out I have a common condition called luxating patellas, where my kneecaps pop out of position. The doc said it can be fixed and I will live a long and active life. I will have to get surgery when I'm 12 months old, but then I will be all set! In the meantime, I'm taking medicine so that I don't experience any pain. The doc cleared me for all puppy level activities, walks, frisbee toss, bone chewing, wrestling with my foster sister and brother, zoomies and fetch. My foster mom says I have serious big puppy energy! When I'm not playing, I do love relaxing in the sun and at night I am a couch potato. I love my foster fir siblings and I really like the human kiddo that also lives with me! I can be more shy when meeting new adults and new places. The Vet can be scary, but can you blame me! With patience and work my foster family is helping me grow braver. I haven’t met a dog I didn’t like, but I do bark at them a bit just to let me know I am a bit shy. I met two cats the other day and they were cool, but one hissed at me…how rude, right! So if you are looking for someone to snuggle, kiss and play frisbee with I’m you guy---Chip! Story
Silas was born here on 5-7-24 and is another baby that hasn't had a visit or a chance at a "furever" family up to this point. This guy is very lovable and totally enjoys playing fetch and only weighs in at around 35 pounds so, he will not be a large boy. He is great with other dogs but does have high play energy and another dog in the home would need to match. However, he is submissive with other dogs if it comes to that. Silas is a puppy and will need all the training that comes along with a puppy such as leash training and house training. This boy has a gentle temperament. So, any active family with room for him to run should work for this guy. He is up to date medically for his age and current on flea/heartworm prevention and neutered. If you are interested in visiting or adopting, please submit our application at Richardsonrescue.org. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 10, 2025, 9:47 am

Story
This beauty was born here on 5-7-24 and still has not found his furever family. He is around 30 pounds and it doesn't appear that he will get much larger.  This boy has a loving and playful temperament. He is an active guy and loves other dogs. He has never been around a cat at the rescue so we can't comment to that but there doesn't appear to be a mean bone in his body. He is doing well with leash training but will need house training as all new puppies do. He is current on medical, flea and heartworm prevention and neutered. He would be a great addition to any active family. Won't you come for a visit and give this sweetie a chance. Just because he is a black dog doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a great, loving family. If you are interested in visiting or adopting, please submit an application at Richardsonrescue.org.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 10, 2025, 9:47 am
