Story
Johnny: •Labrador Retriever/Husky mix •9 months old •45lbs •Neutered male •Crate and potty trained •Good on the leash •Dog and kid friendly, (unsure about cats) Johnny is a sweet, timid, playful 9 month old Labrador Retriever/Husky mix who loves cuddling, playing with his doggy friends, and going on walks! He is a very affectionate boy and loves being around his people. Johnny weighs about 45lbs currently and is expected to be around 55lbs fully grown. Johnny was found as a stray and taken to our local high kill shelter where he landed on the euthanasia list for being scared. Already a shy-natured boy who tends to be scared of new things, Johnny's fear response was exacerbated by the frighteningly loud and unfamiliar shelter environment. Despite his terrified state, Johnny never once showed an ounce of aggression toward the shelter staff and volunteers who cared for him, which just shows how good of a dog he is! We were able to pull Johnny from the shelter and for the first 24 hours, he was understandably still apprehensive and shut down. After a bit of decompression time, his true personality started to come out! Johnny is now a carefree puppy who can finally act his age and get his energy out, not having to worry about his safety. He made quick friends with our other adoptable adolescent dogs and his favorite activity is playing chase and wrestling with them! Johnny plays great with the other dogs and hardly ever goes too hard or gets carried away with his play. He has a nice play style that all of the dogs seem to really enjoy; he's a lovely pup to have as company! As much as he loves his canine companions, Johnny loves his human friends just as much. He is a total cuddle bug once his energy is spent, and he has shown to be a great listener. He's very intelligent and catches onto tricks and commands quickly! Johnny is very treat and affection motivated, and he is always looking to you for direction. He's a fairly mild mannered pup inside, but can be a little ball of spunk when he's outdoors! Johnny can still be a bit scared of new things at first, as it has become a retained behavior from his experience on the unforgiving streets, but with a little encouragement he soon overcomes his initial fears. After he's past that part, he's happy to go on whatever adventure you have to offer him! Johnny would likely do just fine around cats but has not been tested with them. Johnny is located in Houston TX but can be transported to most US states for adoption.

Story
Mazie was one of nine puppies dumped in the woods with their mom (Mia). The current foster agreed to take them in but quickly became overwhelmed trying to care for so many puppies long term. Mazie is super sweet and has great potential, she just needs a loving home to give her the attention and training she needs. If that is you reach out today to foster or adopt this sweet girl!
