Story
This is Captain! A lab/pit mix. He was recently rescued from living in a crate full time and brought into our home to help him socialize with other dogs and become house trained outside the crate. He is in need of someone who can give him the attention he deserves. We would love to keep him but about 2 weeks after bringing him home we found out we were pregnant. He’s ok around children, but we are not sure how he will do with an infant. He does not know how big he is, but he is kind.

Story
I have had Khloe since she was a puppy, she is great with our 1 year old and 6 year old and always has been. Unfortunately due to a Military move we are not aloud to take her to our next location and I have to give her up. She is still full of energy and is a great family pet.

Story
Hi there, I`m Stormy. I may be young, but I`ve got a heart full of love and loyalty. I`m as mellow as a lazy Sunday afternoon, and as cuddly as your favorite blanket. I can be a bit goofy sometimes, but that`s just part of my charm. I love to play, and I`ve got a great sense of humor. I`m smart too, I`ve already learned so many things. I was surrendered because of landlord issues, but I promise I`m a good girl. I`m sweet, friendly, and just looking for a forever home where I can share all my love. So, why should you adopt me? Because every home needs a loyal, loving, goofy girl like me to brighten up the day.

Story
Blaze and Shyla went on an ExPAWdition with Volunteer John! Let`s read all about it:`My besties, Shyla (F) and Blaze (M), and I took a trip to Sandy Bottom Park in Hampton for a Saturday expawdition. The weather and their company made for a delightful afternoon. Shyla and Blaze are a bonded pair...they are inseparable; they get along quite well. They were so chill traveling in the backseat of my car, I almost forgot they were back there . They enjoyed our walk at a leisurely pace along the path around the lake, complete with munching on their favorite snacks at water breaks. We met quite a few other dogs and hoomin walkers on today`s adventure. Both of my friends never missed a beat and just put one paw in front of the other...ain`t nobody got time for fussing or mussing. These two superstars were so well behaved when they went inside the Nature Center to check out the snakes and turtles. Then we were on our way to Chik-Fil-A...chicken nuggets and soft-serve ice-cream were on their minds. Shyla and Blaze are the complete package...they`re besties, well-behaved, easy to walk together, ready to put smiles on the faces of all they meet, easy car riders, and the pros just keep going. Shyla and Blaze are both considered senior (aka experienced) dogs...that just means they love their family a whole lot more and they`re so beyond the puppy energy. Come visit Shyla and Blaze at the Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter in Newport News. They`re a package deal and are available for adoption or foster. Shyla and Blaze are simply looking for a place to call home and some kind-hearted folks who want to become their family. Stop by PRAS...Shyla and Blaze are gonna make your trip worth it.`A bit about Blaze and his sister, Shayla, from Volunteer John:`Shyla and Blaze are two angels who are easy going, people pups who are ready for foster or adoption. They’re a joy to walk together, no pulling or scampering…just an easy going walk. Scratches behind the ears and on the belly are in order, and then you become their best friend for life. They’re very cooperative for selfies and are quite photogenic as well. Take a few minutes to stop by PRAS and meet these two seniors. They deserve this opportunity to enjoy a quiet, loving home and you’ll gain two new best friends.`Hello there, I`m Blaze. Age is just a number to me, I`ve got plenty of love to give. I`m a friendly chap, always ready with a wagging tail and a warm nuzzle. I`ve learned a lot in my ye
