Story
Adult (age unknown) Spayed female 73 lbs. No known experience with cats, dogs, or children Nora is a sweet, submissive girl who’s always ready to roll over for belly rubs — it’s her favorite way to ask for affection! She loves cuddling up, hanging out outside with you, or happily chewing on a tasty bone. Nora knows basic commands, listens well when it’s time to head back inside, and enjoys enrichment activities like cheese on a lick mat or a peanut butter-filled Kong. She’s a gentle, loving soul who’s sure to melt your heart with her sweet, easygoing nature. The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.March 25, 2025, 2:57 pm

Story
Gwen is a mix of Caucasian Shepherd (Sarplaninac) and—we’re guessing—a breed similar to a Black Lab. The Caucasian Shepherd (or Sarplaninac) is a very loyal and loving breed. They are naturally a little dubious of new things and they are always aware of their surroundings. (They make a good watchdog, but are not naturally aggressive.) They make good working dogs but are just as happy hanging out with the family. Gwen had a rough start, being found abandoned in a box as a tiny puppy (along with her littermate Greta) in Macedonia, but she was subsequently brought to the US and is presently being fostered by a loving family in a Chicago suburb. Gwen is now 3 years old and weighs just over 60 lbs. She has been spayed, is in perfect health. and she is up to date on her vaccines. She is great with people and other animals, rarely barking. She is sweet, a bit shy, good with children as long as they are gentle and respectful, and she responds whenever you want to play with her but she is not pushy or needy. . It will take a little time. but--as she gains confidence and gets to know you better-- her amazing character will emerge. Whether you are a single person or a family with kids she will thrive and give you lots of love. Gwen would enjoy a safely fenced yard (sorry, no invisible fencing) and she would do best if adopted by a family or individual who is home much of the time. Gwen's adoption fee has been COVERED by one of our rescue supporters so if you feel you could provide Gwen with the loving care she deserves, please write to us at: sylvialovesme@gmail and tell us about yourself, your daily schedule, if you have other pets and if you have a safely fenced yard, etc. After we hear from you, if we feel you would be a good match for Gwen (and vice versa) we will send you an adoption application to fill out. (Once you’ve filled it out and returned it to us, we will review it and check the references you provide and then we can arrange for a meet-and-greet.) (Gwen's sister Greta is also available for adoption, and they are shown together in the one photo)

Chrissy, female, 3yr old Lab/Greyhound mix, weighs 54lbs Chrissy has had some tough times. Unexpectedly her owner passed away which caused her major grief. She moved into a foster home and while she was there, she was attacked by one of the resident dogs, so she moved to a new foster home. Our hearts went out to her, and we had her transported here in hopes of finding her a forever home. Despite all her hardships, she remains kind and loving. Chrissy is a joy and always happy to share her love with those she meets. Her ideal home would be one without young children as she has never been around them, so she is unsure. She will make a perfect companion dog for a quiet, calmer household. She loves going for walks and hanging out on her dog bed.  She has a playful nature but is self-entertaining with her toys. Chrissy is house broken and does not need to be crated. She is unsure at times around other dogs and needs a supervised warm up time. Once she is comfortable with another dog, they can be buddies. Her main focus though is pleasing her humans. she knows her basic commands and will    We are located at S47 W30760 State Road 59, North Prairie, WI As always, we never guarantee the breed OR the size they'll be as an adult.
