Story
Meet Violet, a loving and gentle momma dog who came to HBWI after all her puppies found wonderful homes. Now it's Violet's turn to find her forever family!
Violet is an affectionate and playful girl who adores being around people. She gets along wonderfully with kids of all ages, having spent time with both young children and older ones. She's great in her crate, housebroken, and knows to chew only on her toys. Naturally quiet, Violet sleeps through the night in her crate without a peep. She currently lives with a cat and likes to sit back and observe it. She hasn't shown a prey drive... other than with bugs!
Initially high-energy upon her arrival to WI, Violet has since settled down and proven to be a calm, well-behaved dog. She knows basic commands like "sit" and "down," and her high food motivation makes her eager to please. She was a jumper when she got here, but we think those days are behind her!! Violet is amazing on a leash and is a true "loose leash walker." She has great recall and even knows how to play fetch!

FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping.
For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics.
To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.
